I was not clearly informed beforehand that more extensive disassembly or work beyond a basic diagnostic could result in additional charges. Wanting a second opinion, I took it to another mechanic who inspected the truck and found the driveshaft was not bent. The issue was simply that the driveshaft was out of phase/timing and only needed an adjustment, which cost me about $100. The adjustment completely fixed the vibration. Based on my experience, I would strongly recommend getting a second opinion before authorizing expensive repairs here. I was nearly charged over $1,000 more than necessary for a problem that did not require driveshaft replacement.
