I'm very satisfied with the service we received. It was well worth it to have peace of mind when it comes to the condition of our home.

We had hired TEC for foundation inspection for our house in 2023 and after recommendation from…read morefamily. Upon receiving the report we followed all the instructions particularly in dealing with Texas soil. Thomas himself did not do the inspection, and it was an employee of his who used Ziplevel altimeter readings and took pictures of the house and then gave it to Thomas who wrote the report. The report basically stated that no foundation repair needed to be done at the time and utilizing the report's recommendations should suffice. Needless to say almost 1.5 years later we had worsening cracks around the house, doors not shutting and eventually plumbing problems. We ended up calling 3 different foundation companies, who by the way, do inspection reports for FREE... and then compared them to find out that we had significant foundation repairs needed and that the foundation problems were many years in the making and not just from recent issues with soil, drought etc. Long story short, had I used the repair company first I may not have needed to have the issue and cost of plumbing repair in addition to the inevitable foundation work. Yes, foundation companies may come with biases, but if 3 different companies are giving you the same report and suggestions, then don't avoid the problem! Foundation repair is costly, but its more expensive the longer you wait, and in the DFW area it's almost inevitable. We were sold on the TEC report that it was a minor issue and paid the price. It was false hope, and putting trust because an individual is coming from an unbiased perspective may seem like a smart move, but there are always hidden agendas. My recommendation would be to get the free reports from multiple foundation companies along with free quotes if you are worried about your foundation/structural integrity and then make an educated decision. Had we done this, then we wouldn't have wasted several hundred dollars for a useless report and maybe saved some money on repairs along the way with earlier action.

We reviewed the report and had questions, which Mr. Lalonde met with us by phone. This was all great. We told Mr. Lalonde that we were going to hire a foundation company to make the repair, and we wanted him to be involved. We knew this may cost additional money, but what is better than to have your own structural engineer? As far as the exact location of the piers Mr. Lalonde said that the contractor would take into consideration the utilities, etc. located at several points of the structure. When the foundation company came out, they needed to adjust 4 pier locations. Since we hired our own structural engineer the foundation company wanted Mr. Lalonde to be the engineer of record for the project as well as approve the specifications of the ChanceR Helical piers. After a week of no further information, I contacted both the foundation company and Mr. Lalonde. I heard back from the foundation company, but never back from Mr. Lalonde. The foundation company said they contacted Mr. Lalonde and he would not approve pier specifications. I left a call back request to Mr. Lalonde to find out what his issues/concerns were, but after 8 business days I have never heard back by phone or email from Mr. Lalonde. In order to proceed with our foundation repair, the foundation company brought on another engineering firm that we have dealt with before and our project is now moving again. We are disappointed that it appears Mr. Lalonde walked away from our project, which has caused a delay in the repair, and additional money to pay for this second engineering firm.

They were very professional and thorough with their process. John arrived precisely on time and explained every step throughout the process. At the end of the inspection, he gave a very clear and honest explanation of the results and then followed up with a very thorough technical report a few days later. I particularly appreciated their approach because they are not trying to sell a follow-on product or upsell anything. They simple perform the inspection and then provide an honest and complete assessment of the results. I would strongly recommend this company to anyone that needs a thorough and honest assessment.

He used a ziplevel to measure the building elevations and gave us with a verbal summary when he finished. Jeff was professionally dressed and spoke clearly without being too technical. He was referred to me by some other home inspectors and he did not disappoint. His pricing was lower than another company we had quote, buy Jeff was more personable and the quality of work seems identical. Afterward, he walk with us through the building to check five areas where we were concerned about potential foundation issues. Jeff told us that the foundation was in good shape and did not need repairs. He recommended moving forward with some planned masonry work. One of our church members, an architect, sat in and seemed satisfied with Jeff's assessment as well. I plan to refer Trinity to my own clients for foundation inspections.

He was courteous, knowledgeable and provided a well written engineering report and was $50 less than the other engineers I called. It turns out that the cracks in my wall were due to a construction flaw and not active soils or settlement. All of the contractors that looked at the house told me I needed upwards of $7,000 in repair work. I would recommend Adam and Crosstown for any other engineering project. Thanks Adam!
