Called to request a foundation inspection, as the home is 30 years old, we have some very minor…read moretile cracks, and do see some seasonal movement in door openings (mostly one upstairs one). Some brickwork is cracked around suspended arches and cornerstone decorative pieces (e.g. above garage doors) but obviously has been for decades. I specifically called Cornerstone because I wanted a serious contractor who does actual poured footings, not that stacked cylinder mess that could actually crack your foundation worse as they use your house for the jack leverage. Dave was on time, courteous and (given that our appointment was in the middle of the Viral Apocalypse) understanding that I was working from home instead of 'off' for the day of our appointment. We spoke for a bit, he outlined everything well and asked pertinent questions about my reasons for calling, then got down to work inspecting...and recommended no work be done at this time. I offered to pay a service charge but he said that wasn't necessary. We did follow up on the phone briefly (I was busy when he was finished) and I am strongly considering coming back to them for some drainage improvements here and there as precautionary measures. We used this company for foundation repair in 2017 and all went well. In 2022, some of the…read moreporcelain tile on the opposite side of the house started to crack and some cracks on the walls too so we called them and they came out. The man was polite and went around the house and entered some numbers in his tablet. He said it was minimal movement and for that he didn't recommend any action just keep the soaker hose in use and the tile was probably due to the hot summers which we understand can happen. My issue is that he said he would email me the report but I never received it. It took calling and emailing this company 3 times to get a response and a very short response only. The email said we don't provide reports when there's no work done. Really??? Then why did their employee said otherwise??? I think it's very deceptive not to get a report. We have had more tile crack and walls since then so we are calling another company and we will never recommend this company to anyone.
