Our experience with Steve Sutherland and Metro-Tex Foundation was superb. Hiring a contractor can be expensive in terms of money, worry, and time. Our house has returned to level, wall cracks have closed, and doors again close properly. Early in the foundation repair process we saw huge mounds of excavated dirt. All excess dirt was removed, the yard is level, bushes and plants were returned to their original places and we anticipate they will be just fine. They are professionals while maintaining open communications. Metro-Tex completed all repairs in a timely manner and conscientiously returned our yard to its original appearance. I called MetroTex Foundation because of all the positive reviews. Steve the owner answered and we agreed to meet at the house I am in the process of purchasing. The report I got from the inspection company said I needed a foundation company to review the 58 year old pier & beam house. There are some cracks over the doors from settling. Steve showed up as he said he would. I expected the foundation report to be crazy high, but Steve was honest in his report. There is some settling, but not to the point to be worried. If we adjusted the few piers with shims the other piers would be change creating a domino effect. I value the true honest businessman Steve. read more

I read the reviews and was very excited to get an honest, small, local company that knew what they were doing to help us with the foundation on our new home. First, I used the Request a Quote feature through Yelp, which MetroTex actually uses more/less as a lead generation rather than an actual quote/estimate feature. I sent a detailed report completed by our inspector that included photos and a description. The owner, Steve, replied with "text me Monday". No biggie, I get it, but this wasn't the biggest issue. Second, I texted Steve on Monday as requested and asked to schedule and appointment for Thursday or Friday, at which point he replied "touch base with me Wednesday" as if he weren't an actual business with a proper scheduling system? Again, not a huge deal, this wasn't the biggest issue. Third, I connected with Steve *sigh* AGAIN on Wednesday to confirm a day that would work for him, his response again was ambiguous "Friday mid morning". I had to again reply back with a time hoping we could finally secure an appointment. He responded, thank goodness, with Friday at 10am. Can you guess what happens next? Well, it's Friday at 10:30am and Steve isn't here. My wife is outside on the property with my two year old son and my parents. It's hot and humid, and I'm at work. I get a call saying "he didn't show". Wow. Please if you're reading this don't support a company that has such lack for regard and respect for their customers. This process was painful and unexpected based on the other positive reviews. My advice, keep searching and go with a company that actually values their customers time and focuses on a pleasure, easy transaction. read more

These days, it can often be a gamble when you hire a company you have never worked with to do repairs on your home. We got bids from several different foundation companies, all of which sounded good. Prices varied somewhat as well as the type of piers recommended. We got the best impression from Metro-Tex after Steve Sutherland came over and did measurements. We liked that as owner of the company he was very hands on, which turned out to be the case as he came out by himself to clear holly bushes in the front flower bed so his crew could start working right away once they arrived to do the work. After the job was completed, he came back and helped me take down two crepe myrtle trees which he said might be a problem down the road. Wow, the reviews don't lie, Steve is excellent! It's not very often that you find a business that literally is honest but he was about as genuine as they come. INCREDIBLY easy to understand and detailed in what he told me, did multiple measurements and even though our house was showing some cracking he said we're all good and no need for foundation repair! He even referred a plumber to take another look just in case to check for sewer line damage under our bathroom where the cracking was. Metro Tex Foundation was recommended by the structural engineer I had investigate my possible home purchase. Normally, I don't like those kind of recommendations, but wanted to get this done and Metro Tex provided plenty of references to check their work. They came out and leveled off one section of the foundation from being 2 inches low to within 1/4 in of level (still low,but within tolerances), plus the area is now covered by their warranty, which is transferable to a new owner down the line. They did disturb some landscaping, but it was minimal. This was mentioned in the original quote. Very happy with their work and yes, I did buy the house. read more

MetroTex Foundation did an awesome job fixing a 7/10'' settlement of the corner of the house I just bought in Frisco, TX. They had to come out twice - first to drill the holes and pour concrete, then, after a week (to let concrete settle and dry) - to install 5 concrete piers. The whole house is now perfectly level. MetroTex crew took a good care of my landscaping, restored the sprinkler system to it's original working state. Work is covered by the lifetime transferable warranty. As in previous review - MetroTex was recommended to me by the structural engineer who inspected my house before purchase and kept the originally quoted price. Steve and MetroTex Foundation came through for me when others either couldn't or wouldn't. Long story short - I have an exterior courtyard that is surrounded by a 7 ft high brick wall that attaches to the house at both ends. The wall had started to pull away from the house at one end, causing a gap. I could have just filled in the gap with mortar, except that the wall was continuing to pull away at a slow but steady rate. So the problem would resurface again unless I fixed it permanently. I used home advisor and Yelp to search for brick wall repair companies. Three different companies came by. They all said that I needed a foundation repair company, not a brick wall company. So I contacted three foundation companies. All three came by, and one said that they only do repairs on the interior of homes, not the exterior. The second said that (basically) free standing brick walls were too risky for them. I was really getting frustrated at this point because the brick wall people were saying that I need a foundation company, and now the foundation companies were saying "We don't do that." Thank goodness for Steve and MetroTex! Steve came by and really sought to understand my situation and agreed to take on the job. From that point forward, everything proceeded exactly as Steve said it would. His crew was on time and professional and the final results were outstanding.
