We had a last minute change (one day delay) in the delivery that was accommodated. The morning of delivery I called and spoke to a nice woman on the phone. She gave me a window of delivery that would be within an hour to an hour and a half. The truck actually showed up about 20 minutes outside of the estimate, but no worries. The driver arrived and we showed him where we wanted it dumped in the street. It was expertly dumped and I even made a video because my grandson loves all things construction. Our contractor's work crew arrived soon after and got to work. It actually started to rain partway while it was being spread in the backyard. The decomposed granite actually kind of "hardens" in a good way. Still pliable when you walk on it but it doesn't stick to your shoe like sand. We've been happy with the product and i was happy with my interaction with the company. The prices seem fair. They have all kinds of stone and gravel shown on their website. Check it out!

I've tried to get part compensation but Bradley who was good at getting the contract job is now passing me over to the lady at the office and the lady at the office is passing me to Bradley. And Phil the owner isn't responding to my calls nor text messages. There was no responsible manager on site guiding the diggers so they took matters into their own hands. Foundation work was done while it rained all day leaving a muddy mess and dirt dug up wasn't able to be put back under home as it turned into clay. No compensation given for damage. Other companies do all of this as part of the job.

The customer should not need to pull the lead and press for answers about whether a 40 year old header needs to be replaced if trade can see that the header is fine. See photo. Contractors and trade should be honest from the start, beginning with the initial estimate. Other red flags (in retrospect) worth mentioning that are consistent with other recent reviews: -The employee who provided an estimate showed up over an hour before the scheduled time, examined our garage framing from only the outside, and did not return to finish the estimate an hour later as promised. -LBW scheduled our job a week later than initially agreed. -The lead asked open ended questions about the scope of the job upon arrival at the job, making it unclear whether he knew what work needed to be completed. As pleasant as the lead and office administrator were, it feels like we were hustled. If you engage with LBW, make sure you need the work!

At 65 years old, this is only the second review of a business I've ever written but I feel like I…read morehave been so taken advantage of or mislead that I had to write. This is a pretty long review so if you'd prefer to skip the details, here's my review in summary...it's like the old joke about the guy that's offered a great deal on a used car and when he goes to pick it up there are no tires on the car. When he questions the seller, the seller responds "Oh, I didn't know you wanted tires too". I asked for an estimate on removing the poles left from my tearing out the drywall on a couple of walls in our very small 1970's ranch-style home. After a Zoom consultation with Jason, I believe, he sent me a written estimate which I accepted and paid a 25% deposit. I'm not sure of his name because I never heard from or saw him again. Two weeks before the project's scheduled date someone else from LBW's came out to look over the project and told me that there was no way they could do the project for that price and so if I wanted them to do the "drywall patch" afterwards it would be another $3800. $3800. This was more than 50% of the total project. I asked what that entails and he explains that it was just covering the 2 beams at the ceiling line with drywall putty. The way it was explained to me it seemed like a very insignificant thing as well as seeming to be way overpriced for the amount of work he described it would involve; so I said "Well geez then I'll just have to do that myself or something." This had been scheduled for weeks and now at the 9th hour they're wanting another $4000 from me when the whole project was only $6500 to start with! I got my written estimate out to show him and the way the estimate reads there were 3 categories...the first category described part of the project and the extended amount was $0. The second category described a bigger part of the project and the extended amount was $6500. The third referred to "tape and bed" and the extended amount was $0. The bottom line or total was therefore $6500 which I assumed included everything in the estimate. This was the first I'd heard of anything costing "extra". He didn't comment or say anything else and just made a note on his paper. After he left I really felt like I had been part of a "bait & switch" deal or something. The same person came out again several days before the project was to start and we went over the same details. I asked again about the drywall and he again explained it to me like it was just covering "the slit in the ceiling we have to make in order to raise the beam into place." Again he made it seem like almost an afterthought or that I would just have to throw a little drywall putty up there along a slit line just to cover the edge of the new beam. There was no warning or concern I didn't understand the extent of what we were discussing or anything. I asked it he would be there just to make sure and he said he would. And just like I initially thought the estimate included everything necessary to do the job I now also thought I knew what to expect at the completion of the project. The day of the job about 8 men showed up but he wasn't one of them. Like the estimator I never saw the second guy again either. Only 1 of the 8 men spoke even the slightest English and I mean the type of non-speaking English person that responds to you basically with just a blank stare when asked something. At 5pm they were finished and the pictures show how my house looked at completion (except it DOESN"T show how there were also about 10 bundles of electricity/outlets/switches left hanging from the ceiling and laying on the floor where my two dogs were discovering something new for potential chewing...SO I asked a nice neighbor and he came over and tacked them up into the ceiling for safety until I could get someone out to fix them. Of course I'm not prepared and now have to find someone to do all this work and in the meantime live only in our bedroom as the temperature in the house is the same as it is outside. In late June in Texas. Our house is very small. I had started trying to update our 50 year old house myself a couple of years ago to save money however my husband then got very very ill and after being hospitalized for weeks and going through several life-threatening surguries he returned to work only to be let go. So we are now completing the project I started two years ago simply because we cannot afford our house anymore and in order to sell it must have the ceiling fixed. My husband is 70 and is in poor health. $6500 is ALOT of money for us right now and now I guess we have to come up with a lot more. I just feel extremely let down and stupid. I wish someone had explained the project to me more clearly or had given me an estimate that included not leaving our entire ceiling open. We had a large job, replacing…read moresiding, painting the entire two story house and tons of small things to do to fix damage due to a hail storm. The entire process took about a month due to rainy weather. My entire yard was trashed for that month. His workers were messy and used my flower pots as a trash, my outdoor furniture wasn't moved aside for projects and was covered with dust and dirt. They left their lunch in opened trash bags for my dogs to discover. My side trees were cut down 6ft without consultation and some of the cuts were not clean, but ripped off. I was constantly picking up screws, nails, paint chips and somehow they got paint in the dogs water bowl. Sloppy work, they dripped white paint on a black rug, and got paint on my back windows. They removed a piece of outside wood exposing the attic and did not cover it up until days later, after I had to notice it and call Bob. I'm not sure if this was a new crew or what, but there was no "care" taken in their work. I constantly had to call Bob for these problems, which was pretty lame because that was why I was paying him. Overall the repairs I needed done were done but I will not use this company for future house projects.
