Elder and the guys did an excellent job in covering up the entire house and finished the job in 2 days. My house had no insulation in the walls- to very less in the attic. After the insulation my Heat as well as Cold is retained inside the house. Heat turns on once in a 24 Hr cycle vs multiple times in an hour previously. If you are thinking of in wall insulation, it's totally worth it. The quote was the most competitive and they were very flexible. I am still closing out the multiple holes in the wall, will take time as i prefer to do it myself- I had plans to paint anyway .

The addition of two QuietCool fans also seemed like a major plus, as I was already familiar with the product and expected it would significantly help with cooling. When it came to the insulation work, I was very pleased. The crew did an excellent job removing the old insulation and installing the new. They worked efficiently, protected my floors well, and ensured that no insulation debris entered the living areas. That part of the job was handled professionally. However, I was less impressed with the radiant barrier installation. This may partly be due to a misunderstanding on my end, as I expected a different type of material, but the end result did not meet my expectations. The biggest issue, unfortunately, was the installation of the fans. At best, it was very poorly executed. The fans are 16" units with 12" duct openings, yet they were installed directly against the gables, which severely restricts airflow. Proper installation should have included a box or shroud to help direct airflow effectively through the fans. Because of this poor airflow, the fans do not cool the attic--in fact, they appear to make things worse. I can actually watch the temperature on the thermostat increase when the fans are turned on. I reached out to my representative multiple times, but the response was disappointing. I was told they could not take the fans back, and when I asked why the attic temperature increases when they are running, I was told there was no explanation and nothing further could be done. As temperatures continue to rise, I'm left frustrated that I spent $1,200 on two fans that perform the opposite of what was promised, with no meaningful support or resolution offered. UPDATE: After posting my initial review, I was contacted by both the project manager and the owner. I reiterated the reasons for my frustration, explaining that my review reflected my honest impression of what I saw as a lack of clear communication and effective management of the project and customer expectations. The project manager apologized for the communication breakdown and asked if I would be open to giving them an opportunity to make things right. A technician was then sent out, and he took the time to fully understand the issue, carefully examine the installation, and make several adjustments to the original work. He believes these changes will help improve airflow in the attic. Since my attic has some unique characteristics, he also provided helpful suggestions for additional ways to improve cooling and airflow--something I feel should have been addressed during the initial planning stage of the project. Whether these changes will result in significant improvement remains to be seen; I'll have a better sense once the weather warms up. I do appreciate the follow-up and the willingness of the project manager to reach out and try to make things right, and I have updated my review accordingly. That said, I want to be clear that the increase in my rating is largely due to the technician and the time he invested in evaluating the full situation, as well as both implementing and proposing thoughtful solutions.

However, crawlspaces can get moldy and wet from lack of care. If you ever encounter rodents, there is a good chance they came via the crawlspace. After all, we do hear noises at night at times, which is creepy. Jacob visited and gave a comprehensive review and estimate. We basically went for a full package of rodent control, cleaning, and installing a new vapor shield to keep it dry. The while job took maybe 2.5 days with a crew of 3 workers each day. Outstanding quality work. First phase was sealing up the homes around the house and crawlspace, and laying traps. The attic was inspected too. This was followed up with weekly followups to ensure no more rodents. This scope was subcontracted to Golden State Critter Control. Highly recommend working with Greg. The next two phases involve cleaning and eventually reinstallation of the vapor shield. Compared to what we had before, it was day and night! I also appreciated the crew alerting me to a leaky drain pipe. I later worked with a plumber to replace a cracked 3"D drain pipe that connected upstairs to downstairs. The cleaners were very careful to keep the area around the workspace very clean and safe. Working below the foundation cleared debris and then sterilized the area. Then removing rat contamination and feces from the attic and the existing contaminated insulation. All questions were answered on the spot and any concerns were taken care of immediately. Even a missed closet was taken care of the next day. The cleaning and sterilization was done in 5 days. Due to the size of the home and the time to clean and replace the insulation.
