Mind you, the stall doors do not lock and you can literally see everything from the Crack of the stall. I told the guy he can have the girls wait outside until he is done with whatever he supposedly had to do in there and he threatened to kick me out. I complained about it to one of the guards and he looked smug about it and that is when I noticed my phone was missing and my friend was roofied. I am 100% sure staff or friends with staff are the ones who are involved as it has happened way too often for it to be a coincidence. They kicked me out and I threatened to call the police on them for theft and drugging their patrons and my phone magically appeared, crazy how that happens. I know some girls who dance here and they also said the new staff is shady and to keep your head on a swivel. I have been coming here for over a decade to dance with friends, but the new security is trash and up to no good. they will eventually get this place shut down. Never again.

I understand ID policies. I had lost my ID and only had photos of my passport and identification, so I asked politely if there was any way I could come in. I also mentioned I wasn't drinking just there for a friends birthday. What followed was honestly one of the most uncomfortable interactions I've ever had at a business. Instead of giving a simple yes or no, the security guard began loudly berating me for several minutes in front of a full line of people. He repeatedly said things like "what kind of person doesn't bring their ID" over and over again, questioned my intelligence, and spoke about me to my friend instead of addressing me directly. I stayed calm and kept saying it's completely fine if the answer is no - I just needed an answer. But he continued escalating, repeating himself, and making the situation more and more uncomfortable. At one point, people in line were visibly confused and reacting to what was happening. I ended up leaving crying, shaken and upset, which is not something I've ever experienced from simply asking a question at the door of a bar. I have never been so confused and shaken up this is such concerning behavior. Again, I fully respect policies. A simple "no, sorry" would have been completely fine. This review is only about the way the situation was handled. It felt unnecessarily aggressive and honestly unstable, and it created a very uncomfortable environment not just for me, but for everyone standing there. I hope management is aware of how their staff is representing the business, because this kind of interaction leaves a lasting impression.

For context, I have been going to bars, lounges, raves, parties, festivals, and everything else for a long time, and what I have learned is: things are sometimes going to take some unexpected or iffy turns. So that is what the Blue Goose Lounge offers: a really cool TRUE LOUNGE experience, with the lighting and cushy seating to prove it, with KARAOKE and a nice sound system, and a with an owner/bartender actually showing his personality instead of just being in service of you (yes, that might rub some people the wrong way, but I think it adds character to an establishment). It's possible that I've been lucky enough to not have had a 'bad' experience here--but it's also possible that I didn't even realize that was the situation. There wasn't a ton of seating either, although again, with how crowded it was for Pride, that may have made the space feel even smaller than it normally does. Overall, I'm still really glad this place exists and I would absolutely come back. There are so few lesbian bars around, and I definitely want to support spaces like this and see them stick around.
