Inside mmhmmm!
Eunice L.

Came here a few months ago for a friend-of-a-friend's event. Enter The Standard and you'll be directed through the kitchen into a secret room which is Mmhmmm. It's dark and ambient, has a stage in the center where different bands come and play, a full bar in the back, and several couches on the side for you to sit on and enjoy your drinks. We had bottle service instead of drinks from the bar... both of which were covered! I don't think I'd ever come here again unless there was an event as there's far too many places nearby that offer everything Mmhmmm does plus a better crowd.

Nice little dj set up

Horrible place- staff is rude. For what you pay, go somewhere where you are respected instead of being looked down upon.

A good place to 'part 2' a night of partying. The lobby bar has a relaxed/ cool vibe.

Giorgio's on Saturdays are good times, if you like disco and dancing.

It's the kind of place that exists for so many gays to come and gather and feel comfortable. I was never a big club goer. In fact, I'm now a parent, and appreciate how they welcome families like mine on the weekends during the day. It's a whole other vibe. During the day, it's more like a restaurant and cafe. My kids loved their charcuterie board and sandwiches. Late a night, things can get wild. I've had several friend targeted here getting their iPhones and wallets stolen. Just be smart. For some reason, the Abbey seems like a hot spot for crime. Either leave the wallets at home or keep your valuables hidden away. I've never had an issue but it's a real problem if you're not careful.

We still laugh about our crazy antics in the cabanas that used to be in the back. We don't come as often anymore because the vibe is a bit different. I miss the frozen Apple Martinis but I am glad the Berry Martini is still on the menu. (Two of those and you won't remember your name.) It's a beautiful venue with gothic accents and a lovely patio that is perfect for chilling on a sunny day. The food here is good, especially the drool worthy desserts, and you're guaranteed to have fun at Drag Brunch. They also have great DJ's that spin some delectable tunes that will make you wanna shake that groove thang. The Abbey is still a happening place. There's something going on every night like Ru-Paul's Drag Race viewing parties and late night Drag shows. I still have love for The Abbey, I just miss the old days

Honestly a solid bar to go with your friends, especially if they like vodka. I had the Garden of…read moreAlla and it was very good--fruity but not too sweet. There's no food there tho, so plan accordingly! Loved that there was a dance floor in the back. They were playing Britney Spears when we were there. There's also a Photo Booth. It ended up being the perfect venue for a night of live local talent--intimate, moody, and full of character. The back room where the artists play? I was obsessed. The paint peeling from the burgundy ceiling and deep red walls in that perfectly imperfect way that tells you this place has history. Wallpaper panels edging the ceiling, cozy café tables mixed with booth-style benches and chaise lounge seating--it felt like an artsy little hideaway where musicians can actually breathe and audiences can really listen. Warm lighting, sexy shadows, and even a tiny bar tucked in back for busy nights. I loved the whole atmosphere. Up front, the full bar is its own vibe--neighborhood-bar energy but with cocktails that taste elevated. I had a Moscow Mule and a Cucumber Gimlet, and both were excellent. The fact that they only use fresh, organic fruit and juice really comes through. Crisp, bright, clean flavors. My bartender was super chill and spot-on with recommendations, which I always appreciate--I love when I can lean on someone's expertise and they absolutely nail it. Even the person checking me in for the performance was great--friendly, helpful, happy I was excited to support local artists. The whole staff just made the night feel easy. I genuinely hope I have another friend perform here, but honestly I'd come back regardless. I love high-end venues as much as anyone, but there is something so special about places like this--spaces with a little wear, a little history, a lot of soul, and a strong commitment to the artists who pass through. This is the kind of spot that keeps the LA creative scene alive.

This has been an LA spot for decades... literally!…read more I have been here several times over the years and what I appreciate is that this place knows how to evolve with the times, from originally opening up as the place to go to on the strip when I was in college to a networking spot when I was in business school and even to 2025 where they now have a fun and festive Mariah Carey Holiday Bar for the holidays. Drinks and food are what you expect in LA. expensive. But service from bartenders is fast (once you can get in!) and they are friendly. Valet at the hotel or several lots in the area. Vibes and layout was MC all the way. The pre purchase ticket came with the option of only two drinks which I wish the whole cocktail menu was available. Otherwise the cocktails were okay, nothing amazing and definitely not worth the price. There was also limited seating-- I wish they provided more seating options to the tickets sold. The karaoke booth was also a great idea but the music in the head phones was different than what was playing in the actual booth so made it confusing. Also the $9.99 price for two songs was definitely a money grab and didn't understand the booth so we lost out on one song. Overall, fun idea but could have been better.
