I was able to schedule a free appointment for Robbie to come look the next day. I got a text about 30 minutes before my appointment time telling me he was on the way. There was no pressure to get it installed. He looked at our set up, provided an analysis of what he'd need to do for the install, and a very fair quote. My new pressure reducer install was completed about 2 hours later. Note, I received multiple quotes and they varied wildly. Robbie's quote was on the lower end of those I received and he didn't try to sell me a bunch of other things or pressure me to pick their company. Our plumbing bills typically run between $20k and $30k per year. we started using Rob and Austin in Nov 2025 with seriously mixed results, ranging from on-time and fair, to complete failure to return calls and/or show up. most recently they charged us $425 to replace a new valve and a couple 3/4" nipples that feed a water heater. when asked why it was my fault that they did not have a standard 3/4" brass ball value on the truck, rather than a constructive dialog the conversation decivilized, ending with him accusing our on-site contractor of 20 year of lying. truly unbelievable. nobody needs that in their life. there are simply too many options to put up with folks that have a chip on their shoulder, and everything is somebody else's fault... nothing to see here. move on.

I immediately contacted Orange Coast Plumbing, and they sent a technician out the following day. When the technician arrived, he was friendly, professional, and appeared very knowledgeable. He diagnosed the issue, evaluated the exposed piping, and was able to identify the exact location of the leak. Shortly afterward, he informed me that he did not have the proper materials with him but assured me that if I was comfortable with a $2,000 repair, he would return the next day and fix the problem. The technician returned the following day and began the work. Not long after, I received a call stating that the pipe underground was "outdated" and that the only solution was to run an entirely new main water line from the street to the house at an estimated cost of $20,000. Needless to say, I was shocked. Just one day earlier, I had been told with confidence that the leak could be repaired for $2,000. I informed the technician that I would need time to consider my options. At that point, he stated that he needed payment for the work already performed, so my wife wrote him a check for $1,000. When I returned home later that day, I found that my concrete had been jackhammered, my lawn had been torn up, my drip irrigation line had been cut, and a sprinkler line had been damaged. In other words, I paid $1,000 to have my property left in worse condition than when Orange Coast Plumbing arrived. Based on my experience, this felt like a classic bait-and-switch tactic designed to upsell a customer from a $2,000 repair to a $20,000 replacement project. I ultimately hired a third-party plumber who evaluated the issue and successfully resolved it. In addition, I obtained three separate quotes for replacing the same main water line, and they ranged from $7,500 to $9,900. That is a far cry from the $20,000 price quoted by Orange Coast Plumbing. Before posting this review, I made multiple attempts to contact management to discuss and resolve the situation directly. Unfortunately, my concerns were not addressed. I would have preferred to settle this matter privately, but since that effort went nowhere, I feel obligated to share my experience so other homeowners can make informed decisions. Following a camera inspection and receipt of a competitive estimate from Bert, I hired First Option Plumbing to remove cast iron drainage pipes concealed in the walls of my home. In the absence of any complications, the job was expected to last around three days. QUALITY. On the day of the re-piping job, Bert and his team of plumbers arrived on time and wearing professional uniforms. After placing protective booties over their shoes, they immediately placed multiple protective coverings on all floor surfaces and taped large plastic tarps along the ceilings and walls to minimize dust and debris. Then they removed the cast iron drainage pipes from several bathroom areas, laundry area, work sink and kitchen. After each cast iron pipe was removed, a brand new ABS drainage pipe was installed in its place. When they were done with the work, they cleaned-up each worksite and didn't leave any of the old cast iron pipes or debris behind.
