Their name says it all, they are Truly Pawesome, offering an affordable but personal level of care. We have three cats, and have never really needed a pet sitting service, for short trips, the cats are typically good on their own for a few days, and longer trips in the past we've had a friend who has been able to check in on them while we are out of town. Recently, we had a short trip scheduled, when one of our cats developed a severe case of pancreatitis that necessitated administering medication multiple times a day, which we found out about three days before we had to leave, and the friend who would usually check in on our cats recently moved to Germany. Faced with the prospect of cancelling our trip or recruiting another friend or family member and asking them to check on the cats twice a day, and administer meds (A responsibility I wasn't entirely comfortable burdening a friend/relative with). So, I searched for pet sitters on NextDoor and found Truly Pawesome, which led me to their Thumbtack page. With three days before departure, I submitted a request for an estimate through their website, and Claire got in touch right away! She worked with me over the course of the next two days, showing me examples of reports for pets with similar needs, and she put together an incredibly reasonable estimate for multiple daily visits and administering meds. They even fit us in for a meet and greet the day before we were leaving. It felt very last minute to me, so I was nervous about not having time to coordinate everything, but I should not have worried. Claire and Mady are on it! We walked them through everything, they asked questions regarding anything we may have forgotten to mention, and really provided us with peace of mind so that we could go on our trip knowing our kitties were in good hands. They provide a very personal level of care so that you don't feel like you are leaving your pets in the hands of strangers and they've got a great app, where they post pictures and reports of every visit. Also, there is something to be said about coming home from a trip, and not having to clean up pet messes - its Pawesome! While we've never had to use a pet sitting service in the past, regardless of whether or not our cat(s) needs medication, we will be definitely be turning to Truly Pawesome when we're going out of town in the future, because it is so much easier to relax and not worry when you know you have someone checking in on them to make sure they're good and giving them some attention and love. I very recently moved from Michigan to Maryland. I don't have a lot of family or friends in the area as we moved for my fiancé's new job. So when talk of Christmas plans began I was very nervous and I wasn't sure what I was going to do with my two dogs. While my lab mix is great to board and loves everyone he meets, my aussie mix is quite the opposite. Never having boarded her when she was younger (now 6yrs) she is very attached to me. I only truly feel comfortable leaving her with people I know and trust, a short list on its own but basically nonexistent in this new area... It was a very difficult for me to leave them for Christmas. I told my fiancé that I would commute between visiting his family (over 1.5hrs one way) and my dogs so that I could care for them. Because I had not found anyone that I felt comfortable with... Enter Mady and Claire. They are magnificent! I was able to see their location at all times, updated pictures and videos of my pups and peace of mind knowing they were being cared for as if I were home. Mady and Claire fed them, kept them with clean water, took them on walks and even took them to play in our local dog park! I could see for myself that my aussie mix was very happy with Mady and Claire! They honestly care about the business they have and made it so incredibly easy on me to make the decision to leave the dogs with them. I am much more comfortable making out of town plans knowing that I have a wonderful couple to care for my babies. 13/10 Would recommend! read more

Truly Pawesome always exceeds my expectations and provides great, attentive personal service for my dog.  My dog gets very nervous in strange places and is prone to separation anxiety when I am away.  He immediately took to Claire when she came to meet him.  I was immediately impressed with how well she listened about my concerned over my dog's anxiety.  She was very thorough and professional.  Even though letting my dog out in the yard would have been enough, she asked if he liked walks and about his favorite toys and games for playing outside.  She made sure he got treats and his medication twice a day.  He is always happy and calm when I return from vacation, unlike previous times when he had been at a kennel.  I will never board him again.  On top of all this, the house was exactly how I left it and all of my mail and several packages were taken inside.  I appreciate everything Claire and her team does and would recommend Truly Pawesome Pet Sitters and Dog Walkers to anyone. read more

We had a great experience with Truly Pawesome. Claire and Mady took good care of our two senior cats while we were out of town for a week. They also watered all of our indoor and patio plants and even cleaned floors and messes before we arrived. During that week our apartment air conditioner stopped working (very hot summer weather). We are very thankful to Truly Pawesome for notifying us promptly about very high inside (93F!) temperatures, which allowed us quickly contact maintenance for emergency repairs. This is a great pet sitting service! They have friendly, reliable staff with good communication. This was our first time using Truly Pawesome but will definitely use them again. Claire was great to work with, and when a staffing issue came up, it was promptly resolved. They use an app to let you know the details of the pet sitting visits, which includes lots of pictures and videos. It was nice to see my cats getting pet and played with as well as the regular food/water/litter. As part of their service, they also get your mail and take out the trash, which was a big help to us while on vacation. read more

We hire Truly Pawesome to dog sit for us while we were on vacation for about 2 weeks. We had our dog with us on the trip, but was looking for a company here in Maryland to watch our pets while we were out and about. Claire provided comprehensive, attentive, responsible and professional service--and last minute to boot! She is clearly very experienced with all temperaments of dogs, has excellent communication skills (with humans and dogs), and takes compassionate care of animals. Our cats are extremely shy but they get excited and always come out to see their sitter, we love the updates they send after every visit.
