You have to try this place! It's a little small inside but we went in the evening on a Sunday and were immediately seated. We shared some tapas and everything was 10/10. We ate the octopus, lamb empanadas, gambas a ajillos, Brussel sprouts, duck breast, stuffed dates, and short rib gnocchi. Everything was cooked perfectly and the sauces for each of them were super tasty and complimented the dish well. If we lived around here, we would go all the time. I highly recommend this place! read more

Our favorite OC/neighborhood restaurant. We have been coming here the last few years for their quality and range of tapas, cocktails/mocktails, and wine. Having just had a newborn we came back and so happy they're baby accommodating! They have high chairs, but only space for a baby carrier in booth seating, and no strollers due to tighter table spacing. A few of our favorites - duck, short rib gnocchi, mushrooms, mussels, octopus, and monthly specials! read more

Highly recommended. Random location, but delicious food. Worth the visit. Good mix of menu options

Unpopular opinion - the food is just ok. Fine for the price. But I bumped a 3 star to a 4 star for the service and drinks. We had the bone marrow, calamari, tuna tartare, robo de toro, lamb skewers and truffle fries. We typically order more at tapa places but just wasn't feeling it. I'm a huge fan of tapas and we love Vaca in Costa Mesa--Wanted to try something new but it really didn't compare. Albeit it also isn't as pricey so that's a plus. Overall probably wouldn't come again but its still a cute place. read more

Overall good. All tasty, but some portions small for price. Facility very small, tables very close together, no good tables for 2 and when full noise level is high. Wait staff service very good, no dedicated staff to clear tables. Al read more

Everything was so wonderful! Truffle Bistro is a lovely intimate setting that was so low-key and peaceful. It wax a perfect ending to a hectic day. The service was friendly and attentive. Each dish off the tapas menu was fresh, delicious and prepared perfectly. All in all we had a wonderful experience tonight and will definitely be back soon read more

We have been coming here for a very long time and love absolutely everything on the menu. We have favorites, but it is pretty much the whole menu. Hard to choose what to have when Henry makes such out of this world, exotic dishes that you can't really find anywhere else. At least not of this caliber. There are so many things on the menu that are so hard to find, except maybe in Europe where I am lucky enough to frequent, but you would be hard-pressed to find half of these items on any single menu anywhere else in the world. Truly amazing and we are grateful to have this place so close by and easy to get to. As an added bonus, my lady and our friend took me there for a special birthday dinner. The restaurant is so cozy and quite, I would not have imagined my birthday and a better spot. Thank you for the great food, wine, and overall experience. Salute! read more

This place is ONE OF A KIND!! Wow! The menu is ambitious and Chef Henry NAILS every single item! My favorites are the quail, grilled sausages, sardines and artichokes! Lobster ravioli is the best I've had anywhere and not to be missed! Staff Debbie and Delaney always take great care of us and the wines are wonderful. One of our new favorite restaurants and highly recommend! read more

My family had dinner there the other day to celebrate my mom's birthday. The food and service (Nina) were all very good. The place is small and intimate, which we all liked. Also, there is no blaring music or TVs, and the lighting is just right- enough to read the menus and see the food. We had the stuffed mushrooms and duck breast for appetizers. The duck was fine (pomegranite sauce was excellent), but the mushrooms were even better. I would have preferred 4 mushrooms rather than 3, but at least they were all good size. The marsala sauce was very tasty. I would suggest serving a little bread with that dish (and others) to sop up the tasty sauce. Next we had the farfalle pasta with chicken and mushrooms (very tasty; tender chicken), lobster ravioli, papardelle with meat ragu, gnocci gorgonzola and sauteed artichokes. We finished them all. The best were the papardelle and farfalle (the lobster ravioli I didn't get to taste but will try next time). For dessert we enjoyed the pineapple upside-down cake, apple tart, cannolis and lemon cake. All were very tasty. Nina, our server, was friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable. Ask for her. read more

If you love food with flavor this place doesn't disappoint. My first visit I had the shrimp tapas this dish was so flavorful I wanted bread to soak up the sauce but didn't want to ruin my main course the lobster raviolis. If you like capers and lobster raviolis, I'd highly recommend this dish. Second visit we had the truffles fries and artichokes. Again the sauce the artichoke were in was SO flavorful and delicious. The truffle fries were great. Every dinner I've taken the cheese cake home to enjoy because I like a late night snack. I grew up eating some of the best cheese cake from New York and this place reminds me of my childhood. My first visit I met the owners daughter (host) she's incredibly sweet and knowledgeable. Tonight Debbie was our server, very nice and attentive. read more

Truffle Bistro - Lobster ravioli, ribeye & bone marrow - Italian Near Me - Orange, California

My family could not believe this delicious place had so few people on Father's Day! The drinks were tasty and beautiful. The main dishes looked really good but we opted for the tapas dishes so we could try more and eat family style. We ordered several dishes and every one was scrumptious! The worst thing was that we could not try everything we wanted to try! We will be coming back, again! Also, the staff were friendly and helpful. Thank you! read more

We just celebrated my son's birthday at Truffle Bistro tonight. Everything we had was delicious! From the bone marrow to the lobster ravioli to the duck - just incredible. The flavors were complex and innovative. The staff was very friendly and attentive and we even got a chance to compliment the owner, Henry. He came out and met our family, thanked us for visiting, and wished my son a happy birthday. First time there but definitely won't be the last! Hidden gem in Orange! read more

The stuffed mushrooms and truffle fries are the absolute best at this establishment! The chef also comes around at the end of the night to check in with those dining which truly makes the experience amazing because he genuinely cares about how the food is and the customers. The server is wonderful and she even packed our leftovers for us at the table. The ambiance here was great for a date night, will definitely return. read more

Great food choices of tapas menu . Funndiscovery. Taking my parents to try out for my dad 91yo bday

After my recent review, I was contacted by Henry: Owner/Chef of Truffle Bistro. Henry graciously offered to make good on the recent Corkage cost debacle and reconcile it with a refund. He then informed me that he offers free corkage on Wednesday nights. Any other time, he has now increased the Corkage price to: $25. Per bottle, with a two bottle limit per table. read more

Food was wonderful. Service great! All around great experience. We had a large party and recieved incredible attention on a busy night. We had two vegans at the table and the chef accomodated our substitutions with no problem whatsoever. Great wines as well. Would return again! read more

I took work wife to Truffle Bistro awhile back for her birthday celebration and it was pretty good. We sat at the bar by the open kitchen and talked to the chef/owner about his inspiration opening a restaurant. The restaurant was cozy and the menu was tapa heavy. It was perfect since work wife likes to "try new things" but get full easily. We ordered fried cauliflower, chicken wings, roasted brussel sprouts, lamb empanada, gambas al ajillo, and paella a la valenciana. My favorite was the gambas al ajillo, it was a Spanish shrimp tapa with garlic and Spanish brandy. It was tasty and the shrimp was perfectly cooked. My least favorite was the lamb empanada. It was a little dry and the dough was soaked in grease. Not something I would order again. Overall I enjoyed our dinner. The service started off good but we were forgotten during our meal so we were out of water and wine at some point. The service was fine after I flagged the server. Food was tasty and lots of variety to choose from. I would come back again. read more

Arrived at 6p on a Friday night. Most of the tables were filled but there was just 1 left for us. We were seated right away. Our server (blonde lady name of Joselyn I believe) was amazing. Great great server. She was so nice and always made sure my water was always refilled. I drink a lot of water so she was very attentive. My wife and I rarely drink so we skipped the drink menu. What we did order tho ... Were a bunch of tapas. Yep a freaking bunch. We got the calamari. 4/5 rating. Very good. A good crunch and def not soggy. Squeezed some lemon / lime on there and yum yum yum. Also ordered the Cajun artichoke. 2/5 on this. Sorry guys, it just wasn't flavorful! I wasn't a fan. The wife said it was ok but we couldn't even finish it. Truffle fries - 3/5 on this. It was just regular fries with some minced onion and truffle. It wasn't bad but it wasn't amazing either. Just average, hence the 3/5 score. The tuna tartar. 5/5 amazing. 4 pieces of crackers with fresh tuna and avocado. Very delicious. A must get. Brussel sprouts. 4.5/5. Amazing also. Nice and crispy almonds with some delicious brussel sprouts. These are also a must get. The veggies were crispy to the point where I felt like I was eating some flaky chips. Superb. Great presentation! Also they brought some pita bread out at the beginning with some oil, olives, etc. Tasted great. The interior was dimly lit. A great romantic sort of scene. Perfect for a date !! Highly recommended. We also ordered the white chocolate covered cake at the end. You can skip that. I heard the tiramisu is worth getting but they were out, so if they don't have that, then skip dessert. Wish I could've tried the tiramisu. Great service. Great place. Good food. Chef / owner was nice. He stopped by and asked if everything was good too. A definite plus! read more

Delicious food and excellent service. My young daughters and I had dinner here and enjoyed all the small plates we tried. We loved the pisto manchego best of all, although the short rib gnocchi was a close second. A beer and wine license isn't unusual, but I was surprised to see that they appear to host a full bar, as well. I'll have to try that out when I have another adult with me to do the driving. Already looking forward to our next visit. read more

Spanish tapas/Italian food in Orange! Not the type of food I would expect in this plaza next to the Dollar Tree but glad they're there. During the pandemic, they have a few tables on the sidewalk and also had a group indoors. Our waitress was excellent and had a mask on. They also have hand sanitizers by their entrance. We shared: *Pita with olive tapenade- on the house *Brussels Sprouts- very tasty with a nice vinaigrette *Oxtail- braised for hours, the meat fell off the bone. It was a bit too oily as expected but tasty *Chicken wings- seemed like double fried like the Korean type. Thin skin, sweet marinade *Fruti di Mare: this was the only entree we ordered and the one that lacked flavor, in my opinion. It had a good amount of mussels, shrimp, clams and scallops in a butter light sauce but missing salt Unfortunately, they were out of their homemade tiramisu and the Estrella beer which my husband liked so much on a Sun evening but still an enjoyable meal! read more

My friend and I tried this little spot that has just opened up for Sunday brunch. Besides offering a variety of very delicious and reasonably priced brunch items, they offer bottomless mimosas for only an additional $10.00. We love truffle bistro! My husband and I have been coming here since they opened! The owner, Henry is amazing and he treats everyone like family. I appreciate him going out of his way to greet us! Super expensive! We ordered 2 items. Mine was a farfalli pasta dish with chicken and sun dried tomatoes. It was almost $30! It wasn't even that good. My husband's dish was better but still way too expensive. I also ordered garlic bread. We received 2 itty bitty pieces of crunchy bread with barely any butter or garlic. Definitely not going back. read more

Truffle Bistro - This is the manager's response. How does this address the quality of the food?? - Italian Near Me - Orange, California

Very nice place. Aesthetics are great and the food was good. Had the oxtail, last one for the day and mussels. Both were delicious. Service was good. Food prepared as you order. Went on a not so busy night. Nice drink selections. Plenty of parking at the location. read more

Food was amazing and authentic, service was spectacular, ambience was nice and cozy! A definitely must go restaurant in OC! Definitely coming back. read more

Service was great! The server was very attentive and the food came out quickly. I ordered the lamb shanks and my husband ordered the sea bass. Sea bass was incredibly flavorful and juicy. There was a variety of cherry tomatoes that complimented the bass very well. The lamb fell off the bone and was prepared with a good mix of spices. I initially thought that they did not give me enough vegetables, but it was actually a well balanced amount that filled me up. Lastly we had their house dessert, the tiramisu and it was fantastic! Great place to eat. Worth every penny! read more

Spanish Seafood Stew was good for the mussel and shrimp, but when it came down to the soup, it was super spicy. I told the waitress, and she was understand, but she said it is up to the chef. When the chef came out, he looked at the portion, he ignorantly said you finished the seafood, im not going to cook what is left. He walked away. I didn't even explained myself and he walked away. The waitress came back and apologize, but it was up to the chef. My husband had lamb shank. We will take the business elsewhere. Rude chef... I didn't even explain myself, and the most rudest chef left. I didn't finish my spicy soup bcuz it was too spicy. I was hungry, so I tried to finished what I had because he wasn't going to make another one. Stay away from that ignorant and rude chef. He private message me, but speak up! Last year on Valentine's Day, he was very nice, but this year, he was very rude. How can you stay in business if you are rude to others who come in and try to enjoy your food. He wasn't going to make me a different one. We left. Broth is spicy, not the seafood... Idiot. I always eat seafood first before I finish the broth. We all have different ways of eating. read more

Do yourself and your family a favor- go here ASAP. Amazing tapas and wonderful service! Shout out to Catania- she made the experience all the better. My girlfriend and I found this place through Yelp and I've never been more happy with a random pick. We ordered several tapas items but hands down the best is the duck breast- I'd order it by the pound if they'd let me. Cocktail wise the lemon drop was solid, and I wouldn't be surprised if the rest of the list is just as good. Don't skip the courtesy olive tapenade, it's just as good as the menu items. read more

Hoping to go back. Didn't get a chance to eat because we went earlier than our reservation and even though several empty tables we couldn't be sat as well as the bar had 2 people at it but supposedly people had that on hold as well. We were there and ready to eat and pay! Others hadn't showed up yet and had tables on hold? It's very small and it smelled wonderful but the not thinking outside of the box and sitting people who actually arrived isn't going to help business. We would have been fast as we had plans to be somewhere anyway. Missed opportunity for our business! read more

One of the few places that serves tapas in my area. Most of the tapas are great: Truffle fries - delicious Lamb skewers - this was a miss for me. It was ground lamb and flavor was not to my liking Stuffed mushrooms - great Duck breast - tender and delicious Calamari - pretty typical but would order again Rabo de Toro - great but portion is small Brussel sprouts - tasty and I think there was chorizo bits that made it special We've also tried the Paella and Seafood stew entrees. They were ok, but value was not there compared to the tapas. Also, highly recommend the truffle bistro refresher cocktail. It's tasty, but some servers make it better than others. read more
