The stuffed mushrooms and truffle fries are the absolute best at this establishment! The chef also comes around at the end of the night to check in with those dining which truly makes the experience amazing because he genuinely cares about how the food is and the customers. The server is wonderful and she even packed our leftovers for us at the table. The ambiance here was great for a date night, will definitely return. read more

Delicious food and excellent service. My young daughters and I had dinner here and enjoyed all the small plates we tried. We loved the pisto manchego best of all, although the short rib gnocchi was a close second. A beer and wine license isn't unusual, but I was surprised to see that they appear to host a full bar, as well. I'll have to try that out when I have another adult with me to do the driving. I took work wife to Truffle Bistro awhile back for her birthday celebration and it was pretty good. We sat at the bar by the open kitchen and talked to the chef/owner about his inspiration opening a restaurant. The restaurant was cozy and the menu was tapa heavy. It was perfect since work wife likes to "try new things" but get full easily. We ordered fried cauliflower, chicken wings, roasted brussel sprouts, lamb empanada, gambas al ajillo, and paella a la valenciana. My favorite was the gambas al ajillo, it was a Spanish shrimp tapa with garlic and Spanish brandy. It was tasty and the shrimp was perfectly cooked. My least favorite was the lamb empanada. It was a little dry and the dough was soaked in grease. Not something I would order again. Overall I enjoyed our dinner. The service started off good but we were forgotten during our meal so we were out of water and wine at some point. The service was fine after I flagged the server. Food was tasty and lots of variety to choose from. I would come back again. read more

Besides offering a variety of very delicious and reasonably priced brunch items, they offer bottomless mimosas for only an additional $10.00. Super expensive! We ordered 2 items. Mine was a farfalli pasta dish with chicken and sun dried tomatoes. It was almost $30! It wasn't even that good. My husband's dish was better but still way too expensive. I also ordered garlic bread. We received 2 itty bitty pieces of crunchy bread with barely any butter or garlic. Arrived at 6p on a Friday night. Most of the tables were filled but there was just 1 left for us. We were seated right away. Our server (blonde lady name of Joselyn I believe) was amazing. Great great server. She was so nice and always made sure my water was always refilled. I drink a lot of water so she was very attentive. My wife and I rarely drink so we skipped the drink menu. What we did order tho ... Were a bunch of tapas. Yep a freaking bunch. We got the calamari. 4/5 rating. Very good. A good crunch and def not soggy. Squeezed some lemon / lime on there and yum yum yum. Also ordered the Cajun artichoke. 2/5 on this. Sorry guys, it just wasn't flavorful! I wasn't a fan. The wife said it was ok but we couldn't even finish it. Truffle fries - 3/5 on this. It was just regular fries with some minced onion and truffle. It wasn't bad but it wasn't amazing either. Just average, hence the 3/5 score. The tuna tartar. 5/5 amazing. 4 pieces of crackers with fresh tuna and avocado. Very delicious. A must get. Brussel sprouts. 4.5/5. Amazing also. Nice and crispy almonds with some delicious brussel sprouts. These are also a must get. The veggies were crispy to the point where I felt like I was eating some flaky chips. Superb. Great presentation! Also they brought some pita bread out at the beginning with some oil, olives, etc. Tasted great. The interior was dimly lit. A great romantic sort of scene. Perfect for a date !! Highly recommended. We also ordered the white chocolate covered cake at the end. You can skip that. I heard the tiramisu is worth getting but they were out, so if they don't have that, then skip dessert. Wish I could've tried the tiramisu. Great service. Great place. Good food. Service was great! The server was very attentive and the food came out quickly. I ordered the lamb shanks and my husband ordered the sea bass. Sea bass was incredibly flavorful and juicy. There was a variety of cherry tomatoes that complimented the bass very well. The lamb fell off the bone and was prepared with a good mix of spices. I initially thought that they did not give me enough vegetables, but it was actually a well balanced amount that filled me up. Lastly we had their house dessert, the tiramisu and it was fantastic! Spanish tapas/Italian food in Orange! Not the type of food I would expect in this plaza next to the Dollar Tree but glad they're there. During the pandemic, they have a few tables on the sidewalk and also had a group indoors. Our waitress was excellent and had a mask on. They also have hand sanitizers by their entrance. We shared: *Pita with olive tapenade- on the house *Brussels Sprouts- very tasty with a nice vinaigrette *Oxtail- braised for hours, the meat fell off the bone. It was a bit too oily as expected but tasty *Chicken wings- seemed like double fried like the Korean type. Thin skin, sweet marinade *Fruti di Mare: this was the only entree we ordered and the one that lacked flavor, in my opinion. It had a good amount of mussels, shrimp, clams and scallops in a butter light sauce but missing salt Unfortunately, they were out of their homemade tiramisu and the Estrella beer which my husband liked so much on a Sun evening but still an enjoyable meal! read more

Spanish Seafood Stew was good for the mussel and shrimp, but when it came down to the soup, it was super spicy. I told the waitress, and she was understand, but she said it is up to the chef. When the chef came out, he looked at the portion, he ignorantly said you finished the seafood, im not going to cook what is left. He walked away. I didn't even explained myself and he walked away. The waitress came back and apologize, but it was up to the chef. My husband had lamb shank. We will take the business elsewhere. Rude chef... I didn't even explain myself, and the most rudest chef left. I didn't finish my spicy soup bcuz it was too spicy. I was hungry, so I tried to finished what I had because he wasn't going to make another one. Stay away from that ignorant and rude chef. He private message me, but speak up! Last year on Valentine's Day, he was very nice, but this year, he was very rude. How can you stay in business if you are rude to others who come in and try to enjoy your food. He wasn't going to make me a different one. We left. Broth is spicy, not the seafood... Idiot. I always eat seafood first before I finish the broth. We all have different ways of eating. read more

Hoping to go back. Didn't get a chance to eat because we went earlier than our reservation and even though several empty tables we couldn't be sat as well as the bar had 2 people at it but supposedly people had that on hold as well. We were there and ready to eat and pay! Others hadn't showed up yet and had tables on hold? It's very small and it smelled wonderful but the not thinking outside of the box and sitting people who actually arrived isn't going to help business. We would have been fast as we had plans to be somewhere anyway. Missed opportunity for our business! read more

One of the few places that serves tapas in my area. Most of the tapas are great: Truffle fries - delicious Lamb skewers - this was a miss for me. It was ground lamb and flavor was not to my liking Stuffed mushrooms - great Duck breast - tender and delicious Calamari - pretty typical but would order again Rabo de Toro - great but portion is small Brussel sprouts - tasty and I think there was chorizo bits that made it special We've also tried the Paella and Seafood stew entrees. They were ok, but value was not there compared to the tapas. Also, highly recommend the truffle bistro refresher cocktail. It's tasty, but some servers make it better than others. read more

We went to Truffle bistro this morning for brunch. We had an out of town guest staying us this weekend and wanted to treat her to a nice brunch. We ordered the Spanish omelette, Greek omelette and short rib eggs Benedict and for dessert, pistachio cake! Everything was superb! A few years ago I would have given them five stars. But, not anymore. We were the first ones to arrive for the day and the The owner / chef totally ignored us. Glared at us as if we weren't welcome. The owner should always say hello, welcome, thanks for coming back. Nope, nothing! The food isn't as good as it used to be. Nothing was special. Mushrooms were just okay, sausage was overcooked and dry. No sauces were offered. . Bacon wrapped dates were hard. Lobster Ravioli was slightly fishy. The best dish was the short rib pasta. ( it was quite good )We asked to have it split for us and the chef said that " I dont split". Most restaurants will Split, but sometimes charge a plate fee. That would have been fine. The waitress was attentive and very nice. Overall, there are better options. read more

This review is additional information regarding our dining experience at this restaurant. The owner here, Henry, seems to upset because he only had two tables dining in his restaurant the entire evening. The owner claimed we came into his restaurant with six bottles of wine. I'm not sure where he went to school, but we had four bottles to choose from, of which two would be opened. My friends bag only held four bottles. Nobody at our table was giving you a thumbs up after each plate you served either. You must of confused us with the other table that was dining in your restaurant. The wine list was subpar (imo) and the rest of our party concurred. The wine glasses were like drinking out of goblets that you would get at a roast chicken feast while watching Gladiators fight to the death. Best you revamp your wine list and get some proper stemware to go along with your $20 corkage policy. In addition, please have your facts in order before you try and fabricate an overzealous response to a previous review. read more

Do yourself and your family a favor- go here ASAP. Amazing tapas and wonderful service! Shout out to Catania- she made the experience all the better. My girlfriend and I found this place through Yelp and I've never been more happy with a random pick. We ordered several tapas items but hands down the best is the duck breast- I'd order it by the pound if they'd let me. Cocktail wise the lemon drop was solid, and I wouldn't be surprised if the rest of the list is just as good. Don't skip the courtesy olive tapenade, it's just as good as the menu items. read more

Meet the Business Owner: Henry M.

Henry started his venture in 1996 in Westminster with an Italian restaurant. capone's Pasta and pizza. Later due to his success in 2000, he opened the second location ( Capone's Cucina) and sold it to his brother. In 2012 he continued with his adventure and opened Cucina Sophia in the city of Fountain Valley. At last, Truffle bistro is his latest concept where he added his Italian experience with Spanish and Greek food.

For entrees we got the lean and mean plate with sea bass. It comes with salad and rice, we substituted the rice for black beans. We also got the skirt steak "bulgogi" which was served on top of mushrooms and bok choy with a sweet soy sauce. They accidentally brought out salmon instead of sea bass, but were very apologetic. They brought out a sea bass on the side and comped the entree to make up for it. Great service right there! The salmon and seabass were both delicious and cooked perfectly. We took advantage of the Friends and Family menu they provide on Mondays Only from 5:00 to closing. We sat at the beautiful bar and were watched over by Jacob. The wife had some special non-alcoholic drink that was very pretty and tasted great. I went with the VACA Tonic, an icy concoction made with gin. It was super refreshing and a nice way to start. This menu has selected tapas items that range in price from $8 to $19. We ordered the Pan Con Tomate ($8) which comes with sliced toasted bread slices, tomato pulp, a delicious olive oil and a side of sea salt. You take a piece of toast, squirt some of the olive oil on top, then pour on the tomato pulp. Light, tasty and delicious. Next up, the Patatas Bravas ($9). Perfectly roasted spicy potato cubes, slathered with tomato sauce and a garlic aioli. WOW! So simple yet so good. I licked the plate clean. Next up, the Bikini Sandwich ($9). Two small perfectly toasted cheesy sandwich wedges that have Iberico ham, manchego cheese and a hint of truffles. It was really delicious and the special ham was the star of the show. These are great starting items, yet surprisingly filling. I couldn't stop there though and wanted to order some of their famous paella. I decided on the Paella De Carne ($53). This is a meat paella with pork belly, chorizo, blood sausage, duck confit (a leg & thigh), beef cheek, with bomba rice and a garlic aioli. You have to wait about 20 minutes for them to make it but it's worth the wait. It was perfectly cooked and awash in flavor. The special paella pan they prepare the dish in looked well seasoned and I wished I could have taken it home. The menu is extensive with lots of choices to accommodate any palate. The restaurant is beautiful and has a front and back patio seating. If you have a choice, sit on the back patio. There is valet parking for $12, but there is a parking structure right across the street that provides easy access and is free with validation.

Friends of ours have recommended this unassuming restaurant located in a strip mall in Orange for months now. Finally visited Truffle Bistro Friday night. What a pleasant surprise! There must be 50 different dishes on the menu. We started with lamb skewers and gnocchi. Hubby and I shared a look after our first bite like a couple of kids that just tasted candy for the first time lol. Incredible flavors. For dinner my hubby had chicken piccata and I had salmon. Both were excellent. our server, I think her name was Avi was this cute, happy little person that knew everything about the menu and treated us like friends. The chef is the owner. Delicious food pairing with great wine from all over. We had the following: Spanish meatballs : 5 stars small maybe 6 pieces of ground beef with chorizo in a delicious sauce. This quaint little hole in the wall gives quite a big impression. We've come twice in just 2 weeks. Love the tapas! I think we've now tried at least a dozen different ones. I substituted the mashed potatoes for French fries because I don't eat dairy. Everything was delicious and a little different. For the shishito peppers usually these are served with a tangy sauce and the shishito peppers are blistered. With this dish the shishito peppers were still blistered but they were served on a sweet mustard sauce. For the salmon that was also delicious, served with vegetables. The French fries were great. The crab cakes were pretty good. Now if you're from Maryland you are not going to like these crab cakes, of course, because you're from crab cake capital, but for California crab cakes they were good. I would definitely come back here. I didn't get to try the wine but next time I will definitely try some of the wine and some additional food dishes.
