After searching around the internet and talking to people looking for a competent gunsmith in Southern CA, I took my FN SPR .308 over to Dave and Sam at True Zero for a custom 6.5 Creedmoor conversion. The picture speaks for its self. After breaking in the barrel, I was able to shoot a 1/2 inch group at 100 yards, and that was with just bi bod legs and a rear bag. I have a feeling that if I put the gun in a shooting sled, the gun would shoot 1/4 inch at 100yrd. Dave truly knows what he is talking about and is always willing to speak to you about gunsmithing, shooting, and ballistics when you have him on the phone. They are great guys, and I will be going back to them for more custom work. I placed an order with True Zero Enteprises for a long range precision rifle chambered in 6.5 Creedmoor back in March 2019. It took 11 months to get but it was worth the long wait. Dave delivered nothing but perfection. Dave took me to the range personally, along with Honey, his sidekick with four legs. Dave was even kind enough to sight the rifle in. Dave put 3 shots on bulls eye all touching, about the size of a dime at 100 yards. While I was sending rounds down range, I noticed something missing... recoil. Of coarse there was some recoil, but significantly less than expected. But it didn't end there. Dave decided to show off with his stock 9mm Smith & Wesson M&P and a B21 target at 100 yards and hitting the target in the head and center mass several times slow firing. As a fellow Marine, I respect his knowledge of weapons across the board. I have just recently finished a featureless ar build. (True Zero did my custom Upper,Lower,and Barrel Cerakote) Upon completion I'm ready to send rounds down range. As a safety precaution for my first build. I decided to have the headspace checked. Come to find out the shoulder had never been cut. Off the shelf 16" 223 Wylde. After David's magic is done I will have a ultra match grade barrel!! I built an AR10 using quality parts and couldn't find the source of why certain rounds wouldn't chamber or why I was getting pressure marks with factory ammunition. I took it into Dave, who in short order determined that my barrel's chamber was out of spec. After fighting the company I purchased the barrel through, trying to get them to warranty my work and getting no where fast, Dave offered to ream/cut the chamber to an appropriate match specification. Just had a chance to take it to the range, and I am now the limiting factor on this rifle's ability to shoot well! Dave is exceptionally knowledgeable and an accomplished gunsmith. After reading all the positive reviews, I decided to check these guys out for myself. I cannot say enough good things about True Zero! The smiths are friendly and very knowledgeable. Every other shops I've been to, the staff usually are "know-it-alls" who make you feel dumb for asking questions. Not TZ...You can go in with all the questions in the worlds and every single one will be answered. I dropped my Glock off Friday for a cerakote and got it back Monday and it came out prefect! I am continued to be amazed with the quality and knowledge that Dave has. So my last effort was with my AR-15. This time I took in a A-5 12 ga shotgun to be cleaned as I have now "questioned" the services that my other gunsmith said was done. The A-5 has never been shot and Dave recommended that we install the later carrier. What he found that what my other gunsmith said was done " a complete" service" was not done as ALL the screws were rusted in!!! Picked up the A-5 last week-job well done". I am ready to take my Government Colt 45 acp for Dave to check the work of other gunsmiths .This is the place to go too for quality work!!! read more

When reassembling my Shield, I didn't position the sear correctly and caused all sorts of problems, most of which I still don't understand. I could tell Dave was busy when I came in but he immediately started diagnosing the problem with my pistol. He took it back into his shop and returned a few minutes later with my perfectly functioning firearm! He then took the time to walk me through what had happened and what needs to happen. Had them install an aftermarket lightweight trigger in my Springfield 911. I had issues with T&C pawn installing it, they nearly ruined the trigger. True zero did custom work on my trigger to fix it, and it runs perfect now. These guys are experts when it comes to building, repairing and upgradeing firearms. Worth it for any gun owner.
