The almost full beer.
Juli S.

Came in at 7:30 for a bite and a brew. Out of brisket, fryer turned off. Server had no joie de vivre--we felt like jerks for being there the way she interacted with us. Hours marked clearly to 9pm (see picture). She gave my fiancé a 3/4 pour after she poured out a 2/3 full pour because she couldn't figure out how to tilt to reduce the head. The pour before a sip is pictured. Mine was okay. Thank goodness the taps were still open and the glasses were clean. Seems a small miracle, considering. I'm thinking it's an epic ploy to make sure you are still hungry when you go grocery shopping (fatal error)--well played, H‑E‑B. Still love H‑E‑B!!!!!

The new HEB McKinney location opened last week and I had the chance today to stop by for BBQ. The wait wasn't long and the dining area has plenty of tables. There are several beers on tap and it's cold. I ordered the stuffed spud with turkey and it was great. I will be back in the near future if not to dine in or to take away. They have a drive thru as well. Make sure you stop by and give them a try. Enjoy!

I wouldn't go out of my way to visit TTB, but if you happen to want a quick bite before grocery shopping, it is conveniently located within HEB grocery store. Three of us came at lunchtime on a weekday. I ordered the special Banh Mi sandwich, but they were out of the bread. Sad. So, I had brisket nachos. They aren't bad, but didn't have any sort of salsa, chopped tomato component that would have made them much tastier. My hubby got sliced brisket, which a a bit dry. They do have sodas/ ice tea refill station, so if you are thirsty... that's a plus. For a fast-food BBQ place it was ok.

I love their BBQ but i think its on the expensive side. Ibalways order the bahn mi. Pros Taste great, fresh meat and customizable Cons Bread is super hard. They need to toast it.

Absolutely the worst tasting BBQ Sandwich Ever!

This is the not True Texas BBQ! I ordered a large turkey sandwich and a 1/4lb of moist brisket. Put the brisket on top of the turkey for combo sandwich. The Turkey was supper dry and the brisket La lack flavor. Something was supper salty o think the turkey was it or the sauce. Either way stay away this is not good Texas BBQ. I guess I will go wait in line at Hutchins.

Mckinney H‑E‑B is doing better bbq than frisco so far lol. They chopped it up properly, tender, it's well sauced. Not rough chopped & dry like frisco. I didn't think to take a pic before we started chowing down. The employees were very friendly too. :)

Love the BBQ and the service. We love the casual ambiance and family-friendly staff. My hubby and I have dined in once and ordered takeout, as well as driven through several times now since they opened. It had become one of our favorite BBQ places near us, 5 minutes door to door! The moist brisket and ribs are our favorite, as well as the El Heffe and El Jeffa sandwiches. But our new favorite is the amazing new Banh-Mi Brisket sandwich! Delicious, juicy & spicy, just like we like our food. Our favorite BBQ in town is Hutchins BBQ on east side downtown McKinney, but their prices have risen so much, we can only afford to go once a year as a family, and maybe another time just the two of us. True Texas BBQ is our very close 2nd favorite here, not even kidding. We appreciate the reasonable prices, but especially the delicious food that fills us up and keeps us coming back. So happy to have H-E-B and True Texas BBQ super close to us finally. We didn't know what all the fuss was about because so many people around us were talking up how amazing they are, but now that they're here, and we've been there and tried it for ourselves, we believe them.

I highly recommend True Texas BBQ McKinney. Their staff is very friendly, efficient and provides great service. Fatty Natural Brisket, Baked Potato and Brisket Nachos are my favorite. I tried their chicken tenders (naked) and fried okra for the first time and it did not disappoint! I also love their tea specially the Mango flavor. Their restaurant is clean and very convenient since it's inside HEB grocery. This is my go to BBQ restaurant. I've tried so many other BBQ restaurants in the area but True Texas BBQ is always on top of my list because of their food, pricing, service and location.

Perhaps not everything is bigger in Texas, but Rudys stuffed baked potato sure is! I am from…read moreMinnesota and there is nothing quite like Rudy's there, i.e. restaurant/store/gas station. Still, if we had not been getting carryout, it seemed like a pleasant place to sit down and eat, too. This is order at the counter service, and they were happy to explain things to this non-native. Everything was carefully packed to maintain temperature and avoid spills. I enjoyed the brisket with spicy sauce, though I have since heard some people really prefer the moist type, I think dry was right for me. I got a side of coleslaw so I could get my veggies in; it had a creamy yet not too heavy dressing. The stuffed potato was tasty, especially with all the recommended toppings, but it was the size of a small football! I had to put half of it in the fridge.

First time here. Brisket is a NO. I got one good bite but the moment it starts to cool off, game…read moreover. Not juicy, tender, and really no flavor. The pulled pork was mediocre. My favorite part of the whole experience was the sausage (how do you mess that up?) and the potato salad. I think I'm just finding that it's better to smoke your own meats at home. Half the price and 100x better. Service also wasn't the best. Lady at the register was dead inside. I could tell this was the last place she wanted to be today. Side note: waving your hand in the air to call my attention when I am not looking your direction is no way of letting a line of people know you are ready to take their order. "Next guest, please!" goes a long way. Possibly why she was so irritated when I finally got to the counter.

Chicken was so nicely minced and mixed in tice that I didn't have to worry about him choking on any big pieces. The only thing I would say this place needs a little bit work is cleanliness.

Third time was the charm for me at Karahi Boys. I recently went for a group iftar during Ramadan…read moreand their Ramadan buffet really exceeded expectations. There was a lot of variety and plenty of meat options including a mutton karahi and chicken karahi. Even the chai was really good and I'm not usually a chai person. For the price, the buffet was easily the best value out of my three visits and honestly one of the better Ramadan iftar buffets I've had in Dallas. I'd definitely recommend going during Ramadan. They also had a "Ramadan Mubarak" balloon banner up which gave the space a festive touch. On my second visit, we ordered the KBoys Chicken Karahi, Beef Bihari Boti, their giant family-sized naan, and mango mojito mocktails. Everything was good, and the naan is fun, it's large and looks great when it comes to the table. On my first visit, we tried the Charsi Chicken Karahi and the Namak Mandi Goat. The Charsi chicken was good but didn't stand out as anything amazing. I liked the Namak Mandi goat a lot more. Since I eat spicy, I asked for chaat masala and they brought out what they said was their house-made masala to sprinkle on top, which made it really delicious. One thing to note: many of the menu items are on the higher side price-wise, so be prepared for a bigger bill depending on what you order. The Ramadan buffet, however, is a good value for all that it included. Overall, I'd say the Ramadan buffet is the standout experience, so if you're planning to try Karahi Boys, that's the time to go.
