I am a general contractor who has been totally blown away by True Stone! From the first day when Andrew came to take my measurements making a complete template of each of the counters. I have been impressed! The installation was delivered on time and the quality of their work is impeccable. I am very fussy! I am even more impressed by the after service they have given... I made a mistake in the number of holes for the sink spout they came back the next day and drilled another hole at no charge. They then again came back another time to fix a chip on the edge of the sink at no charge. On top of this, they also recommended Kiwi plumbing who were also great. Erin, master designer of stone/template layout, is very type A which I can relate to :-) A fascinating process to learn about book ending (i think is the correct term) along with where seams will land when dealing with "busy" stone. Template process is quite more involved then i thought. Andrew the owner does come out for the initial layout. His team, office to installers are on it with the details. Seems pricey at first but now I have a new appreciation & understanding of stone installation; money well spent! it is a 2 step process-counters in first then another template for backsplash so don't expect 1-day magic presto counter/backsplash install. patience is a virtue so i've heard.... There are NO visible seams where the counter meets the edge (it looks like one piece of stone); truly amazing! As a Realtor I'm now going to be even more picky with real estate details/finishes--- blessed! Timeless Kitchens (company downstairs) was also a great experience. read more

True Stone has been incredible with fabricating and installing our Ice Stone kitchen counter tops - with water fall effect - AMAZING, as well as bathroom vanity and two fantastic window sills in our kitchen bay window and bathroom bay window. Ice Stone is a very beautiful but sensitive stone made off all recycled glass and is considered "GREEN" cradle to cradle. The upstairs was a full remodel. Our downstairs kitchen was a cute throw-back to the 1940s with a need for a new counter. I read the reviews on Yelp and decided to go with True Stone. It was a huge and very costly mistake for me. I have been redoing 2 of my bathrooms and dealing with True Stone was the worst part of the entire process. First, they have 4 people touch your account so no one is really accountable. Dorothy, Felicity, Gabe and the Installer. 4 people for one countertop! Hence, it is easy for no one to know what was going on. And as a result, I paid because they made a huge error and denied any responsibility. I had requested a certain edge and the edge was drawn on the plans. The edge installed was totally different and didn't match the design of my bathroom. I asked True Stone to fax the documentation of our design and someone had crossed out the edge that I wanted. I had never changed the edge that I wanted. There is no documentation from me changing the edge detail (and I had other changes documented) so I have the wrong edge on my counter. Basically, Dorothy thought it was funny and laughed. Felicity sent me documents but never talked to me live. Gabe scheduled a meeting (after multiple requests) and the owner met with me and said "tough luck there is nothing we can do" - no responsibility whatsoever from anyone Do yourself a favor - don't use True Stone. Installing stone is very expensive and time consuming to have people blow you off and not tell you why they did it wrong. I could go to small claims court and I am definitely considering it read more

I am an anal retentive, detail-obsessed engineer, and was very particular about my constraints on a fireplace remodel: a floor that was significantly not level, firebox that was level, the need for the sides of the surround to be plumb despite the floor not being level, and a need to elevate the hearth so a new engineered hardwood floor could slide underneath. This meant fabricating a surround that was significantly off rectangular so everything would have the illusion of being square, plumb, and level. These guys are the best. Dorothy did several quotes for me as specs and material choice changed. Tear down, templating, fabrication and installation (a day ahead of schedule!) were done with the utmost care, taking time to understand my needs. Andrew and Mario spent extra time on the jobsite for templating and for installation to make sure I was satisfied. Erin was a wizard at finding the small imperfections in my slab and making the best use of the material. She took the time to explain all the manufacturing steps and why certain parts of the stone should, for example, not have an edge exposed. I'm a pretty tough customer because of my fixation on detail, and I was completely satisfied. I will come to them again for my next job, and recommend them without reservations. read more

After my husband and I purchased our 1920's house, we immediately started a kitchen renovation project. . . I just started a design firm, so he was my "client". Being new to the area I had no contacts for materials, so I was relieved when my neighbor suggested True Stone and I headed off to their showroom in San Francisco to check it out. The manager, Felicity, took me under her wing and guided me through the whole process. My husband and I chose the stone species, thickness, color, texture (yes, our granite is not honed and has the original rough surface), edge finishing, and where to place the seams. The slab was ordered and shipped, on an actual ship, just in time for my contractor. Since stone comes from the earth there is no set size, so when our slab came in it was 6 inches too short, but Felicity is a professional through and through. She quickly had her assistant look up the stone recently used in a restaurant application and had the leftover material pulled from the warehouse. . . it was a perfect match and our remodel was back on schedule, and I saved face with my contractor. It took 2 weeks from template to install. I have to applaud the install team since they were there for about 8 hours! My husband was the go-to person since I was at work. He said that they were very thorough with the process, asked questions, triple checked on where the holes will be drilled - above and beyond. I wanted to write an update that our house was just appraised again for a refinance (only 5 months after we bought it) and our mini-kitchen makeover gave our house a 45k bump in value! The appraiser specifically mentioned that he could tell the counter tops were great quality. I have been working with the folks at True Stone for 8 years and have never had a bad experience or even a hiccup in the level of service. They have many loyal customers because they earn them. I design interior remodels and so virtually every one of my projects requires countertops. Some just a small piece for a bathroom re-do. But often, I am doing stone not only for counters, but also fireplace surrounds, even dining room table tops. My clients are demanding and particular. But with True Sone, I know that I won't have any problems, in fact, just the opposite. And it is so nice to know they will be there for me when I have a particularly difficult client. Like Mr. Obsessive-Compulsive. While designing his kitchen, he was so particular about the tiniest details, things that most of us would never notice. True Stone installed the granite slabs that he had handpicked. And then he started having "issues". Cracks that didn't exist, depressions that no one else could see, variation that was just part of the natural material. The gang at True Stone went out to his house to "fix" all of these imagined problems about a half dozen times. No other vendor I know of would go to these lengths to keep me and my client happy. They truly made my life so much easier in dealing with this client, and this is just one example. Andrew is meticulous when templating. He and his crew think of every little detail to make sure the transitions between things like tall cabinets and the counters next to them look perfect. Felicity, Dorothy and the rest of the office staff are the greatest. When they book an appointment, you can be sure your installers will arrive as promised. And with Erin running the shop, your counters will look as good as humanly possible. Their contract of service is detailed and very professional, with precise instructions for prepping the area for installation. I always pass this along to my contractor and have never had a problem. True Stone are not the first fabricators I have worked with, but they will be the last. We had them install a large L shaped piece with an undermount sink cut out. They did beautiful work. Every contractor that has come in since, has mentioned what a good job they did.
