I went to the SF store first and met with the owner Tanya and her assistant, Catherine. 2 stars because Catherine is good and I felt sorry for her. Great meeting but I needed to wait for the demo to follow-up on final measurements. Fast forward to yesterday and I dropped into the San Mateo store with measurements in hand; feeling excited and prepared. I didn't ask for a meeting instead (afterall, i had no appt) just some quick follow-up questions. There were no customers in the store and yet, they could really make you feel like a nuisance. After i asked two questions, the salesperson turned to Tanya's office; they spoke Russian in front of me and her assistant came out. Hey Tanya...It was a pleasure seeing you...but speak to me next time. Yes, I understood the Russian part. I got you loud and clear. Based on this and previous reviews, treat people and employees nicely and with respect. read more

I had a completely successful experience designing my kitchen with this team. If I could give Erika and Tanya 10 stars I would - they were completely professional, helpful and fun to work with every step of the way. Making design decisions can be overwhelming especially for someone like me who had never done this type of thing before, that is why i am so grateful to Erika. She is really good at walking you through each step - highlighting the pros and cons of all materials and choices - so through the process you have clarity and make really good decesions. It was very difficult working with C&B. To get quotes on products required tons of back and forth through email. It often took days or weeks to hear back from them. I was specifically working with Ashley. We met in the San Francisco show room - which is very small and not a lot of options. He showed up late and was sweaty from the bike ride. He was not prepared and didn't have any of the materials ready. Luckily, another person in the show room was able to help him find things. Finally, after ordering the cabinets, the delivery was messed up twice. First the cabinet vender delivered them too early. The driver had to turn the truck around and return to the warehouse. When the cabinets were scheduled to be delivered they didn't show up. Ashley spent all day trying to coordinate with them. Someone at the warehouse messed up again and the cabinets couldn't be delivered on time. This had an affect on our construction schedule. I talked to Ashley about all these mistakes and asked for some sort of acknowledgement, possibly a discount. Ashley was supposed to talk to his boss. After the cabinets were finally delivered I never heard from him again. read more

After trying to figure out the complex and aesthetic aspects of designing a kitchen on our own, we carefully tried to find someone who can help us. We were so lucky to be in the great hands of Angie Murillo. Her warm, energetic personality and very decisive demeanor put us at ease. We went through about 4 different designs until we found one that put out a wonderful open space and comfortable ergonomics in an originally small tight space. She was also very respectful of our budget and found lots of cost alternatives to stay within our comfort zone. As with all major renovation projects there were stops and starts, but partnering with her, Heidi and towards the end Tanya, we worked out all the minor kinks and the results speak for themselves. They really have a boutique type of feeling in their design company and we were so glad to work with them vs dealing with other big box or other designers who ram cabinetry in an architecture layout plan. Cabinets & Beyond was the fourth kitchen design place I visited, and I got so lucky, meeting with Tanya. She had excellent ideas for working within my (relatively low) budget and quickly and competently designed my kitchen. In addition, what I didn't realize at the time was how important her continued support would be when I was trying to figure out appliances, my contractors had questions about installation, one of the cabinet doors came with a scratch, etc. She always responded to my texts and calls immediately, promptly offering the help I needed. Where do I start with Cabinets and Beyond? We've just finished remodeling our house, which took about 2 months, and C&B has been an integral part of the whole process, not just the kitchen cabinets and counters. When we shopped around and visited the showroom, we were handled by the owner herself who provided a whole bunch of insight and recommendations about why we should get one kitchen vs another. We ended up picking what we though was going to work best and moved on to the counters. After exploring all the options, we decided to skip marble and granite and went with Caesarstone - all of the above were explained in great detail and I was given an opportunity to try to put a scratch on Caesarstone. Besides the products, which were very decent in price, we were also recommended contractors, whom we later interviewed and picked for the whole remodel. Having seen the final result now, I can say we couldn't be happier with the recommendation. Personal references work the best in my experience, and this case only proved it further. Once we received our kitchen, we found that a few of the cabinets were damaged or otherwise not up to par. A few calls to C&B and all was taken care of - replacements arrived within 2 weeks. All in all, my wife and I are very happy with Cabinets and Beyond and will probably go with them again for our next house, in the next 10 years or so. read more

First I'd like to start by say it is very hard to impress me to the point to write a review; That being said, I'd like to formally thank Tanya and her design team for a professional, and in many ways surprisingly a really fun experience. I'm not really about design (Unless were talking about Finance and Analytics - I wont dread you with it), but the experience and knowledge that Tanya was able to provide in our project was outstanding. We purchased our home in Milbrae about 2 years ago and never really got around to the most important part of the home "THE KITCHEN". I praise this lady for listening to my list of demands (It was long), from frame-less cabinets to the perfect color counters and everything in between, this remodel was more for me, though my counterpart will argue otherwise. The cambria counter tops that we picked out matched perfectly to the Italian style I was hoping for with a more modern feel, and they've last well beyond their worth in change. It was a hard decision for us because so many choices, but Tanya, the owner made the decision easy. I tried two other cabinet dealers before I found Cabinets and Beyond. I'd had a hard time finding someone willing to really deal with the odd angles in my kitchen, to maximize usable cabinet space. Jamie and Tanya were both very helpful, friendly, professional, careful... They both came out to check the measurements and all the angles and suggested changes to my kitchen layout for more storage. They produced drawings with measures of everything beforehand and were very good about communicating with my contractors once the pieces were delivered. Our kitchen used to look like that 70's show before we had some help. We tried an interior designer and hoped to have them design what we wanted, but it seemed like they had their own ideas, which I didn't like. We actually visited this showroom based off a recommendation from a family friend who had their kitchen redone by Tanya and her designers about 3 years ago. I personally didn't know what to expect, but I do trust in my friends opinion and their kitchen does look like a modern oasis compared to ours. The showroom itself isn't humongous, but the options and mountains of samples and books that they have, there was no way I couldn't find what I wanted. From smooth closing cabinets to the right space steel colored handles and a futuristic look that would be worthy of the Jetsons, we were able to pick out exactly what "WE" wanted, of course with the help of Heidi and Tanya. While I didn't use Cabinets and Beyond for my kitchen design, I reached out them to help me secure a replacement bracket for a cabinet hinge that is manufactured by a company that my original design firm no longer works with. I worked with Catherine, who did the research for me and was able to get me the replacement brackets free of charge. I was not a her client but given the excellent customer service she provide me with (when I was not even one of their paying customers) signaled to me that Cabinets and Beyond is very consumer oriented and want their clients to be very satisfied. Read this review carefully. With all written, Megan the sales person deserves 5+ stars. This issue is entirely with her boss Tanya who happens to be the Owner/President of this company. PLEASE BE WARNED & read on about her terribly entitled attitude & lack of customer service skills. I have been planning my home remodel since May 2015. It is now November 2015 and everything is coming together to begin the remodel. I met with Megan at the SF location and she was very professional, provided excellent customer service, was very thorough in going over cabinets and counter types, the whole 9 yards. She is an exceptional sales person and deserves as much credit as possible. After working her for 6 months, I felt very comfortable knowing that she was addressing my changes, giving excellent suggestions, and really advocating for a great custom cabinet design. STEP IN *TANYA (Megan's boss) who I learned a day before she measured that she was the owner of the company and her title is the President. After my meeting with Megan on Wednesday, Megan arranged to have Tanya come to my home on Friday, November 6th (the same week) to measure my cabinets. Specifically, because Tanya was going out of town and in order to proceed with the design, she would need to come to my home to measure so we could fine tune the drawings. Fine, I agreed to her coming to my home to MEASURE. *Tanya came to my home in Westwood Highlands on November 6th. She had a hunch on her shoulders the second she walked in my door. Anyway, moving on... she stormed into my living area, set her heavy bag of tiles and cabinetry directly on my table with no consideration for scratching it or even asking if she could place her items there. I had no idea that someone who runs a business would act this way. Within a minute of being in my home, she immediately demanded and I mean DEMANDED that I pay her $2500 on the spot and said I had to agree to this before she measured anything. This was the first time I was told by anyone at C&B that I would have to pay a "measuring fee". How can a company demand a measuring fee for coming to a clients home without a written contract with a price point to ensure I knew what in fact I was signing up for? This was baffling to me and very off putting. PLEASE BE WARNED. DON'T BE TAKEN ADVANTAGE OF AND CAUGHT OFF GUARD by this person. Hence, I told *Tanya that I was not aware of a measuring fee and that I would not be willing to pay because first I had to discuss the payment with my husband who was coming home within 15 mins. He ended up arriving two hours later due to a work conflict. Therefore, we could not discuss it before he was home. End result, *Tanya "lowered" her rate based on changes and omitting partial cabinetry in my design and cut me a so called deal on her terms. She said I "ONLY HAD TO PAY $1500 TONIGHT". Well, I don't make such impulse decisions on the spot without first consulting with my husband. I reluctantly wrote the check. The next day, I emailed Megan and told her I felt pressured to sign over a check and I did not want Tanya to cash until I SIGNED an agreement agreeing to the final purchase price after revisions. I receive an email a day later from Megan saying that she spoke to Tanya and now due to a cut in $5K in my cabinetry cost, that they cannot move forward. I am sorry but $5K for pantry cabinets, and $19K for kitchen with only one side of upper cabinetry and lower cabinets is a bit much. I needed to negotiate the price down, or at least be told it wasn't possible, take the price or leave it. Well, no option, no working with the customer, just a flat out we can't move forward. All because the boss, TANYA, was upset that I wouldn't allow her to cash my check without first having an agreement in place. I spent six months working on this project, finalizing the details, and now, all to go to waste because someone is so money hungry, curt, and rude with no compassion or understanding of why a person would need to have an agreement in hand prior to paying a deposit with no final end number for full cabinetry costs. I advise those looking to work with this company that you will receive excellent customer service especially if you deal with Megan. *Just be warned about her brash, nightmarish boss. I will take my business elsewhere and give money to someone who I respect. Tanya is not a true professional business owner. I don't want to support business owners who only care about themselves and treat clients like they are just another check in the bank. You lost a deal due to your lack of tact, Tanya. Megan deserves to work for someone who will take care of her, she just lost out on a deal because of you basically throwing a damn fit over not getting $2500 w/o contract then lowered to $1500 the day of the first initial measuring in my home on a deal with no contract. Clients will be better served by Dan at J&N Cabinets or Slava at Viktoriya Kitchen & Bath. read more

Terrible sales and customer service. It's possible that it was just the designer we worked with. We interacted with a woman named Melissa who made us feel like we were doing her a favor by purchasing our cabinet through her. She was never available to be reached by phone (or even call us back) so our expected delivery date was always a mystery. Furthermore, they expected us to clear an entire day to wait at home for the delivery when the order finally did arrive. However, in the end after I asked to be assigned a new rep we interacted with a designer named Dan who seemed to know what he was doing and finally helped us resolve all of the back and forth issues with the order. We probably won't buy anything from here again. read more

Thumbs way way up for this place. Real wood cabinets (except the non visible parts), pre-assmbled, with free delivery, for not much more than Ikea (seriously). They even come out and personally measure your space to make sure everything fits. My cabinets, just installed, are fabulous. You'd be nuts to buy cabinetry anywhere else, at least if you live in the City. read more
