    Payal B.

We wanted to do a facelift of our old outdated kitchen without breaking the bank, with new cabinets and countertop. Being well aware of high cost of everything in San Francisco, and our house being a very old 1980's construction, we had a tough job of keeping the project within affordable budget. For the project, we started by first finding a cabinetry place. We went with Timeless Kitchen, as they had good quality mid-price semi-custom cabinetry and also provides design service. Soon we set up a meeting with their designer Caroline. We laid down our requirements for the kitchen based on priority, and discussed with her. Our highest criteria was to make the best use of the space to increase storage and usability. Here was our Kitchen remodel Wants, which I dreamt for my kitchen from Pinterest. - Pull Out Drawers and Shelves for easy access with softclose drawers - Farmhouse sink - Lazy Susan for Corner drawers for max utility - Spice rack on one side of stove - Pullout garbage drawers for trash and recycle - Glass display cabinet with lighting - Appliances Garage to hide away microwave, toaster, Mixer, crockpot, coffee machine - Under cabinet lighting - Stove Backsplash for splatter free Caroline gave a initial rough draft of our kitchen with new cabinetry layout meeting all requirements and giving us the extra storage we needed. Then she visited our place to take the exact measurements, made the final design on which we sealed the deal. Then she went ahead to place the cabinet orders. It usually takes a month for the cabinet to arrive. Caroline pointed out a few great tips which every person planning for a kitchen remodel should keep in mind. 1. The dishwasher and garbage drawers should be adjacent to the sink for easy clean and dispose. 2. The standard height between upper and lower cabinets should be atleast 18" 3. There should be a gap of 30" between the cooktop and bottom of the cabinet above. Our house being really old 1980's, she was challenged with tricky problems like walls and floors not level or the roof being too low, so she had to figure how to adjust height of cabinets without being noticeable. Caroline had great suggestions to work around those issues, and displayed her skill and experience. The cabinets arrived on time and without any damage, in perfect condition. They also provided a lot of fillers. We were always kept informed. Coordination between our contractor and Timeless cabinet company went very smooth. Caroline directly reached out to our contractor and informed him of the exact date and time of the cabinet delivery. Based on the confirmed date of delivery, our contractor started the demolition work 2 days prior. On day of cabinet delivery he ensured to be present on the venue to confirm everything was delivered correctly. For countertop stone we checked out many places around the Bay Area and finally we chose a beautiful natural Quartzite stone from Artistic Stone Kitchen & Bath. We are extremely happy with how our old kitchen turned out. We now have a beautiful, modern and airy kitchen, with - a lot of storage - cool features like Lazy Susan, pull outs for spice rack and garbage cans, appliance cabinet. - pullout drawers to reach every nook and cranny, putting my misery at easy :) All thanks to our contractor for all his hard work, Timeless Cabinets for their quality cabinetry and design, and Artistic Stone Kitchen for the beautiful countertop, in making our dream a reality.

Kitchen cabinetry from Timeless Kitchens. Design by Caroline Sain

We recently remodeled our kitchen and laundry room and selected Timeless Kitchens to provide the cabinetry. In total, the project cost over $200K. We were delighted with Caro's design work and custom cabinets. Caro was recommended to us by our designer. After our project was completed, our general contractor said he never wanted to work with anyone else on cabinets. Caro gets things right first time. She collaborated with us, our designer and contractor and reworked the design until we were all satisfied. She has a wealth of experience that kept us on the right track (e.g., where to use pull-out drawers, where to place the sink and faucet, which swing-out blind corner shelves are best). She kept us on track with the timeline. Once the work was underway, we needed to make a few adjustments and Caro jumped into action. She is very proactive; made sure we were happy. We'd 100% recommend Caro and Timeless Kitchens. She's a pleasure to work with and the end result is fantastic.

Kat helped us with our kitchen remodel. She was just fantastic to work with! She is extremely responsive, has an eye for detail, and truly cares about her customers. Our contractor would oftentimes ask her for advice during the process. Highly highly recommend!

    Kitchen Remodel

We had a great experience with Kat! We worked with her on several projects at the same time - kitchen remodel, custom mini bar and bathroom. We were working on a 113-year-old house and this was the largest and most complex project that our contractor had taken on. Needless to say, there was a bit more work involved on Kat's part to help to make this project go smoothly. She was very easy to communicate with, fast to respond via email and easy to reach on the phone. Did I mention that we had a lot of questions? We did. Kat really went above and beyond to explain and ensure that everyone involved understood things. She was very precise and gave great design insight. She is a big reason that our remodel was a success and I would recommend her VERY highly!

We are so very happy with our kitchen. It feels so fresh and airy. Caroline Sain is thorough and thoughtful. Her attention to detail put me at ease. Caroline and her team even hand-delivered cabinet color samples and extra shelf pins. Thank you Timeless Kitchens!

Kat and her team are highly professional at what they do. They were able to help me address all my needs and advise me on what will and will not work. Kat was super attentive and always followed up on time with all my questions. Kat and her team are the folks to call if you are doing a kitchen remodel.

My home is an upper unit of a 2 unit, 115 year old building in the Castro. You can see from the photos below that Gregory did a beautiful professional job on my project, working with the architect/designer who had suggested the built-ins, and responding to my particular requests. Fitting new cabinetry into an old wooden building required a lot of customization during installation, and Gregory was definitely up to the task - as mentioned by other reviewers he is easy to work with, creative, flexible, with an "incredible eye." He did all the installation and finishing himself (with a helper). To be fair, it took Gregory longer than he had estimated to make and install the cabinetry, but it was definitely worth the wait and he was very responsive and obliging throughout the process. The quality and value were top notch; the cost was about 50-60% that of the estimates I received from online cabinetry firms I contacted. Definitely a 5 star experience - thank you Gregory!

He is so incredibly easy to work with, creative, flexible, and has an incredible eye. He got a feel for our taste and made the benches fit aesthetically in our space seamlessly. It was not an easy thing to install either with the angles of the apartment. We could could tell it required a lot of skill and patience. We cannot imagine our space without them now. The bookcases on each side of the center chest piece was his idea too and it was such a clever use of space and it looks great. Truly, we cannot recommend him enough for his skill, taste, and he's really just the nicest guy. If we could get ten stars we would!! And his partner is awesome. They are the greatest team.

There are several finish issues, and while they've endeavored to address this, the doors continue to have a different finish and blemishes. They didn't protect the floor in the last few visits, and their ladders scarred our flooring. They also did not adjust the doors to line up, leaving us with uneven spacing, bulging centers, and misaligned bottoms. The worst problem is the communication. It takes months of attempting to reach them via email, voicemail, and phone calls to get a single response, with several months between visits to get any progress. For example, our last visit was at the beginning of April. It's currently the end of July, and we've been unable to reach them this entire time. Their prices are very expensive, and we expected a higher standard commensurate with the price that we did not receive. We would vastly prefer to work this matter privately and not have to resort to reviews, or if matters persevere, taking more severe actions, but not sure what to do at this juncture.

I wish I got more updates during construction but they sent them whenever I asked. I liked that they were very contentious about talking with my neighbor when their van was blocking a little bit of their driveway--a lot of contractors wouldn't bother. I also had another neighbor who was causing some issues and they kept me in the loop, which I appreciated. - Price: I talked to several contractors and their price was pretty reasonable--not the lowest nor the highest, more in the middle. Cons: - After construction, I noticed some damage on parts that were supposed to be protected. They were minor damages, but annoying. The most noticeable one was a dent on my TV, which left a white dot that I see every time I turn on my TV, which sucks. - In terms of details, I noticed that there were some dings in pretty noticeable parts of the wood. I don't know if it was the crew or the wood came like that, but when I was testing a wood sample before purchasing, I hit the wood with a hammer and it didn't leave a mark, so it would take a lot of force to leave a dent like the one pictured. Kinda disappointing because the dent is smack in the middle of a high traffic area. Some last notes: - David came by to do a final walk through and helped me move some of the heavier furniture back. It didn't bother me but if you're expecting furniture to be put back the way it was originally, you'll want to manage your expectations. - You should definitely hire painters and cleaners after the construction--I didn't think the walls were going to be as scuffed up as they were. And everything will be superrrr dusty, even if it's covered. - When I expressed concern about not all baseboards being replaced, which I thought was the scope of work, he explained that he told his crew to use existing baseboards when possible. He said he did this to save me some cost and offered me $150 to cover the savings. I generally feel positive about this, although if I hadn't mentioned it I don't think it would've come up, so take that for what it's worth.
