The park across the street has tennis courts and paddleball courts and a nice playground. Of course Flushing Meadow Park is a huge Park with many many amenities. One of our favorite things is to walk around the lake at sunset. Priceless! The pool is closed right now pending renovation but when it's open I think this building will once again be five stars. We love our Doormen, especially Antoine and Tony there more like our own private concierge, much more than Doormen! They go out of their way to make sure that our needs are met and have often exceeded my expectations; sometimes I think they know what I need even before I realize I need it! These hard-working men make it a pleasure to live at the Fairview. 24 hour security is visible and constantly patrolling the building and the grounds. There is a courtyard with picnic tables and chairs to relax and enjoy the evening breeze. There is also a private play ground for residence and a small basketball court also. The huge laundry room makes it almost a pleasure to do laundry it is card operated and almost all the machines work very rarely have to wait for a machine. Parking can be a challenge so you may want to purchase an apartment that has a parking space on the lease already. There is both indoor and outdoor parking that is reasonably priced. The management office has always responded to my needs and addressed issues quickly and appropriately. Although I am not a pet owner, the building is pet friendly. Management seems to understand the importance of pet ownership and pet owners are respectful of their home and surrounding property. I have no issues with noise or pet waste. The subway is about a mile away. Plenty of buses within walking distance Including express buses to Midtown and downtown Manhattan.

This Prime property is just steps from Downtown Flushing. I always get a wave and a smile from the well attired uniformed Doorman on duty in the lobby. He seems to do much more than just being a Doorman. I see him coordinating clean up and making sure not only the sidewalk in front of his building but the interior Lobby is always on point. I love the holiday windows that the Barbizon takes great expense to provide for the public as they walk by. Their two large windows are always festively decorated for the seasons. Thank you. Inside the lobby you can see the beautiful fireplace and large holiday wreath above the Doorman's podium.
