Prior to signing the multi year contract, they were incredibly responsive and professional. Went above and beyond. Really made a positive impression. Immediately after signing the contract (and I mean literally, *immediately* after) there was a dramatic switch. We were locked in and they knew it. Caveat emptor. The three years of coverage was periodically marked by technical issues that were a pain to coordinate and resolve. Our outdoor storage shed got burgled a couple of times and interacting with True Protection I just remember having the sense that they did not GAF, to be blunt. The alarm system, and monitoring was a nuisance and source of stress. You will be better served with a DIY solution from Best Buy that does not rely on locking yourself in to these contracts. It is incredibly rare for me to bother giving a negative review. I try to review small businesses I interact with who do great work. When I saw the email soliciting reviews in my inbox, I was kinda shocked. Looking at all the glowing reviews, I found myself agreeing with another reviewer who thought this was deluged with friends and family pumping the numbers. It's just hard for me to imagine a company that consistently delivered such a poor customer experience for multiple years could have these glowing reviews. The last time I called they said I needed to submit a ticket online which I did. Based on last experiance I did not call and sumbitted a ticket online Feb 2, 2025. Never received any calls, emails or text within 48 hours as stated after submitting the request. I called yesterday and the person I talked with set up an appointment for today and said I will receive a call within a few minutes of my appointment. Update: I need to rescind my previous review of True Protection and separate out the company, Brinks from the company, True Protection--they are NOT the same. They simply have an affiliate relationship. I had an absolutely awful experience with Brinks. I left a bad review of both companies in my anger. After speaking with Dustin with True Protection, he offered to help me make the changes I need to bring all of my equipment back online and return it to its usefulness without charge. I was furious after learning that Brinks' actions effectively rendered accessing some of our equipment useless. I humbly apology to True Protection for letting that Brinks nightmare spill over into my experience with them, resulting in a bad review. I can honestly say, True Protection has GREAT, RESPONSIVE CUSTOMER SERVICE. The technicians are great and the owners are caring and hands on. I suggest you ask True Protection to NOT use Brinks as the company your account is affiliated with. I highly recommend True Protection for setting up your security system. I explained my needs and he provided a solution and price point that is acceptable. He was knowledgeable and listened to our needs and we did not feel the "high pressured" sales that some of these larger alarm security companies are known for, meaning its all about the sale. We had an alarm installed in early 2017 and have had no problems until I had random "panel tampering" notifications with wee-hour calls to EMS (cops were called!) in the past few days. I reached out to True Protection, who promptly gave me a reason (i.e., old battery swelling), told me how to fix the problem in the least expensive way (with a video attachment), and gave me the option to have a technician install a new battery. This all happened within ONE SINGLE DAY. Brad arrived at the set time (only a 1-hour window) promptly installed the new battery, and made sure it was working. He was very kind and professional. He took time to explain the reasons my battery failed. I highly recommend True Protection. I have never had problems before this. I got on yelp and saw True protection. I called and the gentleman on the phone was very informative and transparent about the pricing and service. My contract with ADT was coming to an end and I was not happy with the quality of their cameras and pics were always fuzzy on the app. Found company on yelp and Brett came out promptly to survey my home. He was very knowledgeable and patient as he explained the high resolution cameras they offered. The price was way cheaper than ADT with more cameras. On installation day, the guys showed up at 9 and were done by 2ish. They were very professional and explained to me in detail how to use the system, access alarm.com & guarding expert apps, and double checked everything before leaving. We started looking into home security because we go on vacation a lot, and our house is in a bit of a secluded area. We were worried about all of our bikes and computers mostly. We were referred to True Protection by some close friends in Austin, that told us they have a San Antonio division. When the sales rep contacted us it immediately felt personal, the way he talked to us on the phone, and responded to our texts, and they made the schedule according to our time frame completely. It wasn't like when the cable guy comes on this ridiculous time window during work hours. The tech came, and set us up with all these very cutting edge looking devices, and they tailored every single aspect to our unique situation, ie: garage, office, yard. We even decided to go with the "exterior video" feature. The smart door locks are something we didn't plan to go with, but couldn't resist. The mobile app was above and beyond what I thought it would be, I'd only ever heard about it. It literally does every possible command you can think of wanting to do remotely in your house is available through this app, turn the appliances off if you forget, even lock and unlock the doors, control the temp. etc...The tech that installed our system, was really knowledgeable, and fun to deal with. He gave us some insights about the world of home security, that we didn't even know, that we needed to know. Definitely not typical service. It was all very customizable, and came with a lifetime warranty. We are able to call anytime, and someone is always available for questions or support, and we really do feel like not only are our possessions safe now, but the ethics the company is operating with, is a company we want to stick with, and deal with for the very long term!
