Prior to signing the multi year contract, they were incredibly responsive and professional. Went above and beyond. Really made a positive impression. Immediately after signing the contract (and I mean literally, *immediately* after) there was a dramatic switch. We were locked in and they knew it. Caveat emptor. The three years of coverage was periodically marked by technical issues that were a pain to coordinate and resolve. Our outdoor storage shed got burgled a couple of times and interacting with True Protection I just remember having the sense that they did not GAF, to be blunt. The alarm system, and monitoring was a nuisance and source of stress. You will be better served with a DIY solution from Best Buy that does not rely on locking yourself in to these contracts. It is incredibly rare for me to bother giving a negative review. I try to review small businesses I interact with who do great work. When I saw the email soliciting reviews in my inbox, I was kinda shocked. Looking at all the glowing reviews, I found myself agreeing with another reviewer who thought this was deluged with friends and family pumping the numbers. It's just hard for me to imagine a company that consistently delivered such a poor customer experience for multiple years could have these glowing reviews. I I will say it again: prior to signing the contract they are amazing. After you sign it is all downhill. Beware. read more

I cannot say enough about this company! Landon has been super easy to work with..very personable and genuinely cares about his customers. As if that wasn't enough then comes along Brad.. who just goes above and beyond!! There was an issue with the connection and he took his time to problem solve and fix it! He was so nice and genuinely care about the integrity of his work! I have recommended them to family, friends and clients! read more

The last time I called they said I needed to submit a ticket online which I did. Based on last experiance I did not call and sumbitted a ticket online Feb 2, 2025. Never received any calls, emails or text within 48 hours as stated after submitting the request. I called yesterday and the person I talked with set up an appointment for today and said I will receive a call within a few minutes of my appointment. I am still waiting for the phone call. read more

Update: I need to rescind my previous review of True Protection and separate out the company, Brinks from the company, True Protection--they are NOT the same. They simply have an affiliate relationship. I had an absolutely awful experience with Brinks. I left a bad review of both companies in my anger. After speaking with Dustin with True Protection, he offered to help me make the changes I need to bring all of my equipment back online and return it to its usefulness without charge. I was furious after learning that Brinks' actions effectively rendered accessing some of our equipment useless. I humbly apology to True Protection for letting that Brinks nightmare spill over into my experience with them, resulting in a bad review. I can honestly say, True Protection has GREAT, RESPONSIVE CUSTOMER SERVICE. The technicians are great and the owners are caring and hands on. I suggest you ask True Protection to NOT use Brinks as the company your account is affiliated with. I highly recommend True Protection for setting up your security system. In the end, it's not which company you choose or even the cost; it's the level of customer service you end up with. Total Protection has proven itself to be top notch. read more

Giving this business a 5 Star rating ! Sales/Initial contact- Contacted True Protection and received in timely manner a reply from Brett MacAllister. I explained my needs and he provided a solution and price point that is acceptable. He was knowledgeable and listened to our needs and we did not feel the "high pressured" sales that some of these larger alarm security companies are known for, meaning its all about the sale. With Brett, he focused on customer needs and I being in technology sales appreciated that. Do what's right ! Service: Installer was Ivan and this guy "rocks!l" He's knowledgeable and passionate about his work which is great to see. Love the enthusiasm and I see he loves what he does and not just a "gig." Having a positive attitude goes a long way with customers, as compared to a vendor or person, one can tell on tone and body language the passionate they have and it resonates. I'm sure we've all ordered at Chick-Fil-A and they are happy to serve. It's all about service with a smile. Ivan, thank you again and I will definitely recommend your place of business. We had an alarm installed in early 2017 and have had no problems until I had random "panel tampering" notifications with wee-hour calls to EMS (cops were called!) in the past few days. I reached out to True Protection, who promptly gave me a reason (i.e., old battery swelling), told me how to fix the problem in the least expensive way (with a video attachment), and gave me the option to have a technician install a new battery. This all happened within ONE SINGLE DAY. Brad arrived at the set time (only a 1-hour window) promptly installed the new battery, and made sure it was working. He was very kind and professional. He took time to explain the reasons my battery failed. I highly recommend True Protection. I have never had problems before this. The installation was spot on, and the ongoing customer service is amazing. They give me true peace of mind and have the utmost integrity. read more

I had the best experience with True protection. I initially called ADT and upon their arrival they gave me a whole different price from what I received over the phone. I got on yelp and saw True protection. I called and the gentleman on the phone was very informative and transparent about the pricing and service. A few days later my installer Brad Wickizer showed up and explained the process and was very patient with me and my two kids, who were running around and being loud. After the set up he explained the system and all the features, again extremely patient with me and my two little ones running around. I was so appreciative of his patients and really taking the time to show me the system making sure I knew all the bells and whistles it came with. Definitely will recommend to friends and family! Thanks Brad, you definitely made it a 5 star experience! read more

From the start to finish unbelievably True and Protection is a very professional company Brian Ruiz the salesman was very professional and very helpful in what I needed in my alarm system and he nailed it and he wasn't pushy. The alarm technician Brad Wickizer was on time and he showed us step by step our alarm system and our ring doorbell and security camera what it does and how to set it up. Very impressed I would recommend this company for your security system. read more

True Protection is an excellent company if you are looking for great customer service. They quickly respond to any request/questions you may have. They are very professional and honest. They are attentive to your needs and will find the best products for them. If you want personal customer service where you are known by name, give Brett a call. Installation of the system was done professionally by Ivan. He took his time to make sure everything was in the proper place and worked correctly. He also took the time to explain how each feature worked, he made sure we understood the ins and outs before he left. Overall, this company has exceeded our expectations. I already had a Camera security system and hired True protection to install 6 cameras on 2,600 sqft 2 story home. Landon provided quote and set up the installation date, he had good customer service. Brad was the installer and he was amazing. Very cool guy, professional and a master at his craft. I can tell he was very experienced and he truly cared about my requirements. I would highly recommend Brad to anyone. True Protection was a great company to work with. Thanks yall! read more

Great people, great service, and a great value. When it came time to protect the homestead, from my wife's first contact with the owner, Matt, we knew True Protection was likely the right choice. And Brad, the installer, gave us that last bit of assurance that it was. Both representatives carefully answered all of our questions and Brad went the extra mile in a number of ways, making absolutely sure that our aesthetic and usage concerns were answered as well. Now, we're both safe in our home and safe in the knowledge that our money was well-spent. The fact that they are local is the cherry on top. read more

This is my second time to use True Protection. My neighbor had their truck stolen from their driveway a couple of weeks ago so I decided to invest in more cameras on my property to help identify any bandits and record the events that might follow. Since I had a great experience with this company in the past- I called them to do my job. From the salesman Brian to the installer Issac-this company could not be more professional or accommodating. Their response to my initial email was timely and the installation went smoothly with Isaac answering all of my questions. I highly recommend True Protection to anyone looking for top notch product and service. read more

Don't be fooled by some of the reviews ...I guess the people that are satisfied must be family or friends because there is no way these guys could be this consistent.. they are horrible at responding, calling back or to fix an issue.. the owner only replies to positive feedback Matthew Trueman why don't u take accountability for Dustin manager at DeZavala location he needs to be told again how to do customers a service and how to problem solve, and return phone calls..they left me with defective cameras .. not even a discount.. I am going to also reach out to brinks ..and let them know I will not be returning as a customer in 2024 , because my contract ends ..instead I will take my business to your competitors.. Every customer satisfaction is good for u to respond to in a positive manner.. your reputation will be exposed negatively. read more

My contract with ADT was coming to an end and I was not happy with the quality of their cameras and pics were always fuzzy on the app. Found company on yelp and Brett came out promptly to survey my home. He was very knowledgeable and patient as he explained the high resolution cameras they offered. The price was way cheaper than ADT with more cameras. On installation day, the guys showed up at 9 and were done by 2ish. They were very professional and explained to me in detail how to use the system, access alarm.com & guarding expert apps, and double checked everything before leaving. I am overall very pleased with the whole experience and have yet to call for equipment issues or connections issues. I even recommended them to my parents. I'm so glad I shopped around this time and found the right security for my family. Thank you so mu read more

Called three different security companies to request a quote on camera system set up. True Protection ended up being the winning choice as the price included installation as well. Brad, the installer did an amazing job finishing just under 4 hours time. Even explained the process during the camera mount, install. Fine tuning the DVR to ensure optimal camera recording was also appreciative. Would highly recommend True Protection company to any residential homeowner or commercial entity for security cameras quote. read more

I was in search for a security alarm for my house since ADT wanted to charge an outrageous amount to move my system to a new house. True Protection was awesome from first contact through installation and even afterwards. Brett answered all my questions without any pressure to go with them. He also covered all my needs at a very reasonable price. I highly recommend this company for your security system. Even when I wanted to add a couple things at the end after they were almost done they did not hesitate or seemed bothered and got it done. Ivan came to install the equipment as well as Shaun and both were very knowledgeable and informative with everything. They also show you step by step how everything works so you don't feel lost once they leave. I wouldn't go with anyone else. read more

We're not just a number! And it doesn't feel Corporate! My Husband and I finally bought our first house. We started looking into home security because we go on vacation a lot, and our house is in a bit of a secluded area. We were worried about all of our bikes and computers mostly. We were referred to True Protection by some close friends in Austin, that told us they have a San Antonio division. When the sales rep contacted us it immediately felt personal, the way he talked to us on the phone, and responded to our texts, and they made the schedule according to our time frame completely. It wasn't like when the cable guy comes on this ridiculous time window during work hours. The tech came, and set us up with all these very cutting edge looking devices, and they tailored every single aspect to our unique situation, ie: garage, office, yard. We even decided to go with the "exterior video" feature. The smart door locks are something we didn't plan to go with, but couldn't resist. The mobile app was above and beyond what I thought it would be, I'd only ever heard about it. It literally does every possible command you can think of wanting to do remotely in your house is available through this app, turn the appliances off if you forget, even lock and unlock the doors, control the temp. etc...The tech that installed our system, was really knowledgeable, and fun to deal with. He gave us some insights about the world of home security, that we didn't even know, that we needed to know. Definitely not typical service. It was all very customizable, and came with a lifetime warranty. We are able to call anytime, and someone is always available for questions or support, and we really do feel like not only are our possessions safe now, but the ethics the company is operating with, is a company we want to stick with, and deal with for the very long term! I would recommend them to anyone, True Protection really lives up to it's name. read more
