I would not recommend the post-installation customer service. My aunt bought a home that had solar panels installed by this company. The previous owner left the installation contract for her and told her to call this company if she ever had problems with the solar panels system. However, every time I've tried to help her call them for help, it has been a painful process getting help and answers. Earlier this summer, one of the components in her system was malfunctioning and her electricity bill increased a lot. I tried calling a few times and ended up having to leave a message on the answering machine. I waited for one week for a callback and ended up having to call them again myself. Now most recently, my aunt needed to repair the roof, so I called to see if they could do a removal and a reinstallation. Surprisingly, someone picked up the phone the first time I called. However, they didn't have a quote ready and needed to call me back the next day. Again, I didn't get a callback and had to call them myself after two business days. I got to speak to their receptionist but she needed to go pull my file and asked to put me on hold. Instead of being put on hold, she hung up the phone and I spent over an hour and half calling back trying to get back in touch with their receptionist company. No one picked up the phone for that entire time and at one point, the phone only rang twice before I was sent to voicemail, which makes it seem like I was being sent there intentionally. On top of all of that, I still haven't had any of my questions answered. I hope to see a callback eventually, if only to have my questions answered. read more

TERRIBLE!!!! So we did research on True and everything looked and sounds great, the team was friendly, they got all the documents signed and then once the system on the roof was installed it turned into a total nightmare. They did a partial reroof since they won't do the rest till after the system is approved by the county and once it was installed we didn't hear back from them. A couple months go by and we were wondering why we haven't heard about them setting up the inspection yet. Plus we wanted to take advantage of the first year interest free payment options but we have no idea how to sign into the portal. We tried calling them, sending a message request for an email response via their online website. Nothing. Months went by and we didn't hear from them. 8 months later we went out to the store and came home to one of their reps in our back yard apparently updating our electrical box!!! Broke onto our property without any form of notice. After that we finally got in contact with a representative (probably because we chewed that poor man's butt off, so he told a supervisor) and they set up an inspection with the county, just to come to find out they installed the wrong brand of solar panels. So they had to rewrite our contract to match what brand we had installed and then set up another inspection with the county. By this point it's been almost a year, and when the inspector came he failed it again because apparently the original home owner didn't get a permit for the electrical work he added to the enclosed patio and it wasn't weather proof. Mind you, before the system was to be installed True was suppose to do a walk through in our home and out side to ensure all outlets and what not were up to code or standard to install the solar panels. Which clearly, they didn't do correctly. Now we had to pay to get the patio updated and get permits for the patio and by this point it was a year, solar panels still haven't been turned on, because of our contract we had to start paying the loan for the solar system AND our electrical bill. I tried reaching out to Enium who our payments were processed through and they explained to me that we should still make our payments since it stated in our contract we promised to pay a year after the panels were installed BUT we could ask the solar company (True) to help assist with one of the payments, I.e. either the solar payments or the electrical bill. So I reached out via email and got a reply from a lady name brook ellis about assisting with the monthly payments. She first replied saying why our system wasn't currently activated like as if I asked why it was off when I clearly didn't. So I told her that's not what I meant and repeated my question about them assisting with the monthly payments in a slightly different way, to which she responded that homeowners are responsible to pay their permits and we cannot assist with the cost of permits. At this point she's dodging my question and it was pissing me off. So I told her she's clearly not understanding what I'm asking and I wanted to talk to someone else. To which she denied me to talk to another person and stated "true will not be assisting with helping with any payments". Which to me tells me she knew what I was asking for and she played dumb. If she just had said from the beginning "I'm sorry but unfortunately that's not something we can help assist you with" I would have been more understanding, instead of her giving me the run around. The whole situation with true was extremely unprofessional and I'd like to point out it's been a Couple years and my solar system still isn't on, not to mention I still only got a partial reroof done. I'm paying for a service I'm not even using plus an electrical bill. Now it's more of an issue of we have other personal matters going on in our lives so we haven't been able to get anything finalized with this system. Absolutely terrible experience. And sure maybe this is a once in a blue moon problem, but honestly there were sooooo many red flags, I do not recommend this company. read more

During the initial installation, they couldn't figure out how to set up their solar edge program on our existing router, they had to lie to my older age mom that my router is bad and that's why they couldn't set up the program they wanted us to buy a new one. Well if their program requires a new router shouldn't the price be included? The "bad router" that they claim is about to go out soon is still working as of now two years later lol. That left me a very bad taste in my mouth, I really don't like them already. Now second year comes around, the power converter broke in second year of use. It broke on the hottest summer days and basically they said we gonna have to just wait for the warranty part to come in, and the money we lose on electric on the hottest days were just bad luck for us. My $1000 electricity bill is gone due to my bad luck on power inverter, and as of now, electric bill is still higher than the first year when everything was working well...now it wasn't the same anymore, don't know why. I am rejecting this response because: They did not inspect the roof thoroughly, specially the 28 Panels underneath where all the bracket or hooks or whatever is holding the solar panels. Their Technician on 3/11/2025 witnessed the bracket screws drilled through a several spots under the solar from inside my living room by opening the ceiling drywall. He did not go to the roof to inspect on First 2 visits when I was on site. He acknowledged an improper installation was made by unprofessional installer and your technician also stated he doesn't know which individual had installed from your company when you guys were new 12 years ago into the Solar Business. None of those guys are probably working for True Power Solar or SunPower as of now. The photos True Power Solar Agent have sent is in completely different area where the leak is. The solar bracket/hook installed in the solar area is affecting the leak because it is right underneath where the ceiling drywall is cut and you can not deny that unless you guys do this type of filthy business. I have advised your technician to run water with garden hose on the roof in the solar panel installed area to check the exact location on both onsite appointments we had. He initially wanted to do it but after talking to your company, he then changed his mind. Possibly the owner was afraid that we both would be able to see the leak was coming down underneath the solar installed area. on the 3rd visit, Your office staff told me over the phone they will let me know when they are coming for another inspection and I also told them I can meet after 3 pm. No one called me to meet your technician on site. Instead, they inspected the roof without informing me. This is a serious violation! Your technician was told to lie and also lied to all the photo images. Nothing on the image shows the Roof side where all the solar panels were inspected. You sent pictures on the other side of the roof where No Solar Panels are installed. I have checked my roof few weeks ago and all the Roof tiles are in excellent condition unless you recently went up to the roof by yourself and moved a few Roof tile to save yourself from the claim. PLEASE NOTE "NONE OF THE OTHER ROOF AREA HAS LEAK OTHER THAN THE SOLAR PANEL INSTALLED AREA" I am only requesting to remove & fix the affected area within the 28 solar panels, reinstall solar back after fixing the roof leak that has caused by your companies unskilled improper installer. read more

From service, to price, to newest panels, we were so satisfied with Michael and True Power Solar. We interviewed many solar installers and were worried that we would not make the December 31st tax credit deadline, unsure if the 26% federal tax credit would be extended. We decided to go with Q-Cells 420 because they had just came out with a 420 watt panel, which was the highest wattage for it's size, and meant we could achieve our kw/h needs on the limited south and west facing roof areas. Before I chose True Power Solar, I had let Michael know that Electro Magnetic Fields (EMF) were a concern to us, and he got permission from two clients he worked on for me to do a walk around with my EMF meter. Michael suggested that I go with a system that did not use micro-inverters. True enough, when I visited, the micro-inverters gave off lots of EMF everywhere around the home, and not just isolated in one large inverter by the electric panel at the other home. Michael was very confident that even with the city delays due to Covid, they could finalize the install by December 31st. With all those assurances and knowledge, we decided to go with them. Through the installation, my wife and I were worried on a daily basis that the project would not finish on time. Not only did they finish on time, and was able to get all the city inspections finalized, there were no changes requested by the city. The company is very customer service friendly from the installers to the customer representative like John. There were complications because of the way our house is situated, but the True Power Solar folks took all the complications in stride and gave us a great system of solar panels that was installed with first class workmanship. I know other folks have had issues with roof leaks after having their panels installed. But True Power Solar used a system on our roof that looked as thought it was installed by professional roofers. As a friend to an employee who vents to me about his/her job I just wonder what kind of company has the audacity to ask its office personnel "who is willing to give up their pay?" SERIOUSLY?!?!? This is not the first time my friend has complained to me about the way they run things on the inside. Apparently it's a very frequent occurrence for the employees to NOT receive their paychecks when the company said they are to be paid upon their hiring, the 1st and the 15th! I see all the positive reviews and the responses in return from a man named Sam saying that customer service is their number one priority and concern. Well to this Sam, whoever you are to this company, don't you think making your employees happy should be a major priority as well? I bet a lot of them have families too! I surely would not continue to work for a company that is so consistent in delaying my pay over and over again! Sam, get with whoever is head honcho, or if it's you, and make good for your employees sake because with out your sales and installations teams you wouldn't have any customers to be so concerned about! The equipment they sell is the best in the industry, but at reasonable prices that truly give you a great value. I have been through two solar installations - the first was with one of those massive companies and it was a complete nightmare. The installers made countless mistakes, the service was horrible, it took forever and in the end the system didn't produce what they claimed it would. My experience with True Power was complete opposite. The process was smooth, quick and the installers installed my 19 panels in a single day! My system is producing above and beyond what I had expected, and I am extremely happy all the way around with my experience.
