Green chili and burnt ends sandwich

Looking over Ridgway's park, we stopped by the True Grit Cafe. Our party of four was greeted and seated by Kelly. She was very helpful with menu recommendations, and her service was kind and professional. The restaurant is nicely decorated and contains a lot of great photos of John Wayne and other cast from the movie, True Grit. The food was absolutely delicious! I had the burnt ends sandwich with a side cup of green chili.

I came in on a fall weekend and it was packed! I was lucky to get a spot at the bar. The bartender was friendly and helpful. I ordered the elk burger and thought it was good. It has quaint True Grit decor.

This is not all the food. More was waiting & we had turkey sandwiches driving back to Vegas

I ordered Thanksgiving dinner for my folks and us. Dinner was AMAZING! Turkey, stuffing, mashed potato's, full berry cranberry sauce, green beans, gravy, rolls, punk pie, & bread pudding. All of it was so good. I had 2 plates, but so did my Dad! Thanks to Tammy & crew! Everyone! Love this place! Love Tammy & crew!

Hiked blue lakes then came here for an elk burger and drinks. Great service, amazing food and perfect view! Perfect ending to a great day camping.

I just ordered a couple of draft IPAs and french fries. The customer service was lacking greatly; I had asked if there was a wild wing sauce for dipping the fries but there wasn't so I just asked for ketchup....when the waiter put down the fries he gave me no plates or ketchup and did not ask me if I wanted anything when he did give me the fries. I had to get up and get the ketchup bottle from another table and squeeze the ketchup on the fries since I had no plates or even napkins. The view was hard to beat so that was what helped me stay remotely content. I would recommend but would ask for a different server than the one I had.

"The Grit"! My husband finished the whole thing and it was impressive to watch!

Really great menu. We've taken large groups there several times. With bigger groups the service seems to be a bit slow and the service staff confused, but generally pretty kind and the food is good.

This was my 3rd time eating at the True Grit within the past 3 years. For the price of the food, you would expect something a little better. Service was decent, atmosphere is there. But the quality of the food is not. I ordered the BLT and the bacon had that sitting out for hours texture, the tomato was green, and lettuce was aged and soggy. My son ordered the Oinkinator burger for a whopping $22. He didn't care for the burger, he said the bacon was hard and the burger was flavorless and he only had 6 fries. A shame since there isn't many options in this small town. Hopefully they find a better cook, or put a little more effort in their food considering they charge an arm and a leg for low quality items. I heard from the locals that the True Grit is a place to stay away from.

The food service is great, fast waiters and good food. This restaurant is also one of the only that stays open late. The ambiance is great providing a true small town feel. Also the ice cream comes big and is very good, available in mint chip, espresso, and more!

Wedding cake by True Grit Catering. Raspberry Swiss cream filling was unsurpassed!

Definitely a cafe with local flavor. Service was great and we ate on the upstairs deck which overlooks the city park. Would go again.

Unfortunately, the burrito fell short of my expectations. Despite paying an egg surcharge, there was hardly any eggs in my burrito. Not only did this subtract from the nutritional value of my meal, but it also meant there was nothing to counter-balance the flavors of the burrito. Beyond the disappointing burrito, though, the grits were actually quite good.

Menu was not too big nor too small and we were able to quickly order with the staff who were quick with service! Mom and I both got the Corned Beef Hash and I got a cup of their soup of the day : Loaded Potato. FOOD The Corned beef hash were not like what I had before and looked pretty different (This is basically my go to breakfast dish at any place hehe) It was very hearty and had nice actual chunks of beef and potatos. The dish were not greasy at all. Not to mention the eggs were cooked perfectly to my liking "over easy" and the toasts were so delicious. Nicely buttered and were also to my liking in terms of how toasty/buttery it was!! Mom had a hard scrambled egg which were seasoned to perfection as well with white toast which were golden brown!! But the real star of the show was the their soup of the day! My looorrrr where do I even begin. Lets just say this soup better become their soup of the century. Chefs did an amazing job and this soup was really delicious and totally my type hehe. If you ever stop by and this is their soup of the day, def order it!!! Small place with the two nice ladies who served/hosted us, but were fast and friendly as the place started picking up more customers. And good cooks who serve you hearty and delicious meals. Almost felt like I was eating breakfast at a nice aunties place. Atmosphere felt very homey with colorful, but not overwhelming decorations and everything you would need at your table for functionality. FIVE STARS + WILL BE COMING BACK IF EVER BACK IN TOWN

This rooftop restaurant and bar is super cool...the vibe and views are spectacular!!! Service was top notch and the flame grilled cheeseburgers with seasoned potato wedges we ordered...well, let's just say they satisfied our hunger and the burgs were all cooked to perfection! And not kidding, but a chef (maybe, probably the Sous?) was delivering the orders...how cool is that? The musical entertainer, David Nunn, was awesome! Even our waiter jumped in on a song and killed it! That was definitely an unexpected treat! Overall I really dig this hidden gem! That's all...peace out!
