First time's a Hip-e charm! Been wanting to check this place out for some time now and I gotta say...I love me some Urban Hip-e! Got the Caesar Salad with grilled chicken, sans the croutons with the dressing on the side. Let me just say, it was a huge portion...so fresh and delish! Seriously worth every penny! The staff was very friendly and I loved the décor...it's simplistic, cozy and hip! ;-) Love all the healthy and yummy choices on their menu. Has alot of good food options we went here because it looked like a fun healthy restaurant to eat at. Wish it was more like chipotle and pick your toppings right in front while you order. When we visited we were coming from out of town. It was really busy after lunch and ordering time was super slow. We waited in line for 30 minutes. Then we waited almost an hour to get our food when an employee came up to us told us one item we ordered was not available and to pick something else, but we asked for a refund because of the time we waited and not waiting anything else. the employee was very rude and made rude remarks about us upset about the wait and not having an item we ordered on the menu. The employee was not respectful at all and called my friend untitled. It took a while to get a refund on the toast program too. We were then offered a gift card in exchange for a card refund. We aren't from in town so we just wanted our money back for an item on the menu that wasn't there. Will never be coming back here coming through montrose. read more

Fresh bright high quality veg and meat options. We ordered Mediterranean salad with chicken, a gyro wrap, and poke bowl. All were on-point and made welll with ample portions, tasteful clean dressings. Yes it is pricey, but high quality ingredients often go along with a higher price point and him willing to pay it in lieu of wilted expired poor quality vegetables in salads. We've been regulars here for quite a while--both dining in and ordering takeout--and have always had great experiences until tonight. We ordered a family-size chicken Alfredo and a family-size macaroni and cheese. I arrived a bit early, so I didn't mind that the order wasn't quite ready yet. However, by the time I got the food and made the short 5-minute drive home, everything was cold--lukewarm at best. Even more disappointing, the flavor just wasn't there like it usually is. Both dishes were bland and just didn't taste like the quality we've come to expect from this restaurant. For $119 and change, I honestly expected better. We're really hoping this was just an off night, because we've always loved this place and would hate to see it go downhill. read more

The food is usually fresh and vibrant with a lot of flavor! My recent visit was disappointing, I ordered the ramen soup which looked delicious. Unfortunately the broth was too diluted and lacked much of any taste at all...very few vegetables, mostly just noodles. read more

The food is great. The ladies that work there are fantastic. I go there regularly. But unfortunately the manager cory is disgusting. I was in there with my kids and he was making crude and sensual comment to the lady Dana. Everyone in the lobby heard. Cory needs to be fired. He is always yelling at the employees for no reason. I've ran and managed a multi million dollar restaurant chain for years and if I was the owner, cory would be gone. It's disgraceful how the employees are treated by cory. We were not impressed. Sadly. We gave them a second chance after a sub par first visit. This time we ordered the Lemon Ricotta Spinach pasta with salmon and basil added on. We placed an online order as we were in a hurry. We arrived 10 minutes earlier than it said we needed to. So no chance of the food sitting around getting cold on our behalf. We picked up our order and went to eat on the road and it was just disappointing... we ordered the family size at $54 plus $18 for salmon. So $70 meal and we received a pile of plain white noodles, raw spinach and cold ricotta "sauce" and NO salmon. It was very bland. not very good. I guess I was led to think they would be preparing a meal not just slapping together cold ingredients. I called about the salmon. They said they would see what they could do for the inconvenience. I arrived and they did apologize... their reasoning was that "they are new and still figuring it out." Come to find out there are reviews as old as a year on yelp for this place. So not "new" by my definition. I was handed a container of cold salmon. we were hoping for a hot meal where we ended up paying $70 for literally cold ingredients placed in a container. So my advice, take the time to prepare your food and in the description mention that the salmon is sliced, cold, smoked salmon. The expectation with no description was grilled or baked salmon. You know, something hot to top "hot" pasta. there was no taking care of us. If we were not in such a hurry we would have given the food back and asked for a refund. When I had lunch there this week my friend warned me it was "a little pricey". I would say it was a LOT pricey and definitely not worth it. I didn't realize until I checked my receipt that I was charged $4.95 for a plastic bottle of Pellegrino! There is a reason they don't list prices on their website. You wouldn't bother to come in. I wish I hadn't and I'll never return. I had a shrimp gyros that ran about $16. It had a few salad shrimp in it but mostly greens. The owners are from Telluride and maybe those prices can fly there but I just felt hosed... read more
