The home made tomato basil soup was rich, comforting, flavorful, and clearly made with care. Together, they made the ultimate comfort meal. Of course, the pastries were just as impressive--fresh, beautifully made, and full of flavor. We had the cream cheese kolaches and the white chocolate raspberry scone (heated up per her suggestion!) I was greeted inside by a woman who informed me they were already closed. After explaining how I verified the hours and asking if there were any way I could get a quick sub for a hike tomorrow, she said she had already broken everything down bc they closed at 2:30 due to Covid. I looked at my phone and told her it now read 2:31pm. She said she's really quick at breaking things down. I asked if she could be just as quick to simply pull a few things out given my fortunate arrival by the NEW closing hours and she said No. Enough said. No idea how the subs are (albeit I just read that another post said they are rather small for the price and I need something big for the hike tomorrow so maybe for the best...), but I do know how the professionalism and concern for a potential customer is. But obviously, since I told her I was staying in a hotel, she knows I'm not a local and this was my first time there. Hence, living up to either her posted operating hours or her ad hoc ones so as to "do me the favor" of making a sandwich for an ON TIME arrival was not worth the minor hassle to her.

When I got up to the counter there was an order of fish and chips... they called the wrong buzzer. No biggie. Well another 20 minutes went by and nothing. People around us that ordered after us were getting their food. So I went back up to the counter and there on their service line were our chicken sandwiches. When I asked the employee about my order she went back and checked and came back and said "we just finished them up". I took the sandwiches back to the table and again they were COLD.
