Stopped here on my way out of town this morning before a long drive. Was very excited they were open and even more so that they had a drive through (for social distancing measures of course). Very good, simple breakfast sammie that hit the spot. I'd say it was typical greasy spoon food and for a great price. The coffee was huge and they offered flavored creamer with it which I find hard to find at these places. Got two breakfast sammies and a large coffee for $13, what a deal. Excellent meal and service! You can't miss with the "Loaded Biscuits and Gravy", which includes eggs, hash browns and sausage gravy layered deliciously on the plate. Wife has a veggie scrambler (why ?!?) and said it was excellent, but admitted I out-ordered her. That's what counts. As to "ambience", I think we all enjoy a little Hobby Lobby in our lives. The menu on here is OUTDATED. So they claim. We called to order tofu scramble. The women on the phone kept asking me what I was saying and I repeated it 5 times. Then we get there and they give us country scrambled covered in meat and dairy. Not trying to be that vegan but they should be more proactive about having the right information online instead of misleading vegans on Yelp. Stumbled upon this place on the way to Colorado springs from Moab..nice quiet spot..we were greeted and seated promptly by our hostess/waitress..loved that their menu had many options for vegetarians. I got a soy chorizo scramble..it came with cheese on top, hash browns and toast. I was so happy they had soy chorizo and of course it was delicious! Loved and devoured every bite. My bf got the ham scramble..he also loved his meal and he is a very picky eater. We're so glad we found this place..the price for both meals and a coffee were also very reasonable. My breakfast of "Loaded Biscuits and Gravy" was both delicious and unique, as I've never eaten anything like this before. Way overpriced and the food is no where near worth it. Why would you go here when starving Arvin's is just a couple miles away? I just paid $30 for the smallest omelette I've ever seen and basic breakfast burrito. Then when I asked for a water and a salsa I got Looked at like I was asking for a gold bar. Not worth it. Don't waste your time. Also I got home 20 minutes away and my husbands food had only bacon when he ordered bacon and ham on his burrito and my omelette had no meat at all and was supposed to have bacon. Oh yeah and you know he most definitely got charged for the extra meat. Plus there was almost no cheese. Like come on guys if you're going to charge that much at least get it right. we go to the cabin about twice a month. we are taking a break from the restaurant. today we had breakfast at the cabin, the decaf coffee was cold, the eggs came over easy (runny)I wanted them over medium, the potatoes were greasy, they gave me white toast I ordered rye toast. They eliminated there half order of the lumberjack. Overall a bad experience. The one thing you should get from a restaurant is consistency and if you have that you will never have any complaints from your customers. This has happened before and frankly when you're spending your hard earned money isn't consistency at the top of your list. read more

I couldn't drink it, it tasted so chalky and had chucks of ( coconut?) in it. Horchata is a Mexican sweetened rice milk with cinnamon, menu listed it as a fountain drink. Not what I got from the Resturant. I ordered the carna asada plate, menu said it was skirt steak. IT WAS NOT. The Shanty II was better. Sad to see new owners not keeping the Shanty tradition. The Shanty II was expensive but the food was better so it kind of made up for it. The kicker for me was on my last visit I ate in and had a burger and fries but then my brother called and asked me to bring him a burger/no fries. The girl at the cash register charged me the same price for just the burger to go as she did the burger and fries I just ate while there. Pleasant Hostess/Server, and a voluminous and tasty smothered Burrito with the right amount of spice that didn't come back at you for the rest of the morning! This new family restaurant specializes in Mexican and American food. The lunch menu has a wonderful guacamole burger as a special. But they served it to me for dinner. Guacamole is a little bit spicy, so little goes a long way. The portions are ample, everything is tasty. The tacos are your typical and traditional street tacos you might find in the neighborhood filled with Mexican families. Very tasty, that's very traditional!. Be careful of the tomatillo sauce if you are concerned about spicy food. Dinner salad was wonderful, and large. The servers, very likely sons of the proprietor, are very solicitous to meet your every need. The restaurant is clean, and the tables are well organized. This restaurant has yet to have gained a good head of steam, mostly because restaurants at this location in the past have not been so good. I can think of only one that I really enjoyed here before. With some minor fine tuning, this could be a great little diner. The food is pretty decent; better than I expected, and the atmosphere was quaint, even cozy. Apparently, there is a loyal following - there was only one table available at 1:30 in the afternoon. What I found lacking was service. Don't get me wrong; it wasn't like we waited for a half hour before our order was taken, nor were the meals served by a graceless curmudgeon. The service was speedy and even cheerful. The overlooked elements were intuition - the ability to see something wrong and correct it, and thoroughness - smoothing out the rough edges. Okay, it was precisely this: My waitress left her cleaning rag on my table and never came back for it. Straw wrappers accumulated, then a used paper napkin. After four table visits and numerous passes, the dirty rag remained. One of the kitchen staff brought out our orders, looked at the rag as if it were her first time seeing one, then hesitating, asked, "Do you need this?". Really, do you need to ask to remove a pile of debris AND a dirty, smelly cleaning rag from my table? No, I don't think I'll be needing that. I may return and give them a chance to redeem themselves. Served with natural cut fries. It was absolutely delicious! I had the Breakfast Burrito. A big flour tortilla stuffed with eggs, green chile hash browns, and your choice of bacon, sausage, ham, or chorizo (I had ham). It was also fantastic. Service was very fast, and friendly.
