Sad to say that the Montrose curse has hurt Culvers. Portions are smaller than at any other Culvers i have been to, which is many. Im from Minnesota. Toppings and fruit on their desserts are much less than the other stores as well. The cup of mashed taters and gravy only gets filled half way, and the burgers are a roll of the dice. I have spoken to two managers in a positive manner, but gotten excuses and justifications. But going to Culvers in Junction, Glenwood, or Minnesota or Wisconsin shines the light of truth to this store. When I moved here I quickly learned that in this neck of the woods, sometimes you can get what you need, but rarely what you want. It met the standards and expectations everyone set for me. Culver's is a fitting fast food restaurant for locals not in California for a good reason. It has amazing quality for a variety of dairy products. First up, the sandwiches are solid. I've had a taste of almost every burger this location had to offer and they were great burgers. I think they're comparable to the fancier burgers in the West. However, it's an unfair comparison to In-N-Out considering the gap in their price points. It would be fairer to compare a Culver's to a Habit or 5 Guys. Not phenomenal, but it's something I may consider every once in a while. The kickers were the variety of shakes and their cheese curds. Wow. The cheese curds were simply addicting, and people had to take the bag away from me so that I would stop eating them. The shakes were also phenomenal. When it comes to fast food Culver's is one of my favorites ! I think they have excellent quality burgers and shakes but they also have that delicious cheese curd options! It's usually very clean and well taken care of and has become a staple in regard to those fast food days. I don't do fast food a lot but when I do Culver's is at the top of my list. The service was amazing! The restaurant was clean. I ordered the Walleye sandwich and it was a major disappointment! I went back and got a crispy chicken sandwich which was incredible! A good food stop, but the Walleye tasted mostly of the grey skin on it and was very low protein hit. read more

My family loves Culver's so we were thrilled to find this mid-west chain in Colorado. This Montrose location is the nicest in this part of the state. We held out bypassing Grand Junction to eat at this Montrose location because: -it is new -it is clean -it has good/friendly customer service -they get your order correct -it is fairly quick so you dont have to wait long -the food tastes great You can also order ahead of time online for curbside pick up for ultra fast service which is what we did. read more

My rating is focused on staff because they are incredible and friendly, otherwise, I'd give 3 stars. The building is clean and service is the best, comparable to Chick-fil-a. The food is mediocre, but I will say the cheese curds are great. The downsides are the food is overpriced, so we avoid going (not exactly a bad thing), the fries are usually dry and bland, so we stopped ordering them, the burgers are just okay, the chicken sandwiches have improved since they changed them, but could still be better, and the custards aren't anything spectacular. The chocolate custard specifically has an off taste, like it's not pure chocolate. We still go when we are able because the cheese curds, fish, and shrimp are good, but everything else is so-so and the prices are too high for a fast food chain. read more

I like this place and, perhaps strangely, it's not really about the food. The food itself is roughly on par with A&W, the spicy chicken is about the same as McDonalds. That's not a negative, it's pretty much the best thing you can get at McDonalds. Anyway, here's the thing. The young lady running the drive through greeted me with an actual smile, the kind you can hear through the speaker. She was pleasant, courteous and helpful throughout. The young man at the window, likewise. He asked how I was doing and stayed to listen. We had a little chat. Finally, after I pulled forward and waited a few more minutes another pleasant gentlemen brought out my meal, wished me a good day and thanked me. This is probably the top of my list for fast food in the greater Montrose/Olathe/Delta areas. It's south of town on the way to Ridgway. Always super clean and large dining area, friendly counter staff, low dining stress if you have little kids, and decent quality for fast food that's mostly fried (if there is such a thing!). It's about the only place to get fish & chips too. It's worth stopping in if you need a fast food fix and don't have a lot of time. read more

The staff is great. The food was ok but not consistent. Some days are better than others. Some burgers are moist some are dry. I gave 3 stars because of the patio location. It is located right next to the drive thru which means you get to enjoy all the gas and diesel fumes from cars while you eat outside. I think this needs to be addressed. read more

I don't like writing bad reviews, but I gotta be honest. I was excited to try Culver's because it was new to town and that's what you do in a small town (get hyped about new things). However, I haven't gone back since and don't plan on returning. The staff was very kind but you could tell they had not a clue of what they were doing. I put in my order... a burger, fries, and some curds and drove up to the drive through window to be charged almost $40. I wasn't told the total, they just took my card and swiped it. Thank goodness I checked the receipt. They got my order mixed up with the person behind me. They were very willing to fix it, but no one knew how to refund the $40 back to my card. It took a good 60 minutes of sitting at the window and several employees fidgeting with the register and my card. I almost just told them to keep the change because I was getting hangry and my daughter was late to practice, but finally they figured it out and charged me for the right order and refunded the rest of the $. I then was directed to pull forward and wait another good 30 minutes for the food to come out. My daughter ate the burger and curds, she didn't have much to say about them. However, the fries are freezer burned. Seriously horrible. They tasted like they were pulled out of a rotting ice chest and then microwaved for 5 minutes. They were stale and for lack of a better word, the worst fries i've ever had. 2 stars because the employees were very kind and apologized for the payment mix up and long wait but the management of that place is horrible. Please train your employees. Teach them how to keep orders straight, how to troubleshoot the register, how to get f a s t food out in a timely manner, and buy some fries that actually taste like fries. It's a disappointment to see a restaurant with great potential ruined by bad management. read more

The service was not up to the caliber of the product. No napkins, no ketchup. The attendant said we had to ask for ketchup?? I would suggest the order taker ask "would you like ketchup? Any other sauces?" And all orders must have napkins. My friend ordered a cheese burger with the works and got just a burger patty and cheese. Not the best experience! read more
