What a cute place. We've stopped in a couple times now and the food is delicious. This time we got a Bloody Mary, traditional 2 egg, and chilaquiles. The eggs were cooked great, scrambled and over medium... and the drink was tasty! The perfect amount of liquor and mix. The service was a little slow both times and didn't come back over to our table to refill our coffee until we were almost done eating and then took a while to receive our check. But it seemed there was only 1 person working the floor both days. Other than that, worth it for the food! read more

We stopped here to eat before catching our flight out of town. I had the french toast which was delicious. Everyone else had the fried green tomato BLT even though they were out of fried green tomatoes so they were just BLTs and everyone liked the sandwich. Their biscuit and gravy was incredibly delicious. The biscuits were crisp on the outside and flakey soft on the inside. Gravy and eggs = delicious. Wifey had French toast and crispy bacon which was prepared perfectly. Ambiance is cool and we loved their classic rock playlist. Service was also great. My only complaint - clean the damn bathroom! The fresh food was absolutely amazing! Some of the local favorites are the fish and chips! (It was a "10"!! ) and the pork cops with homemade apple sauce! Wow! Great service, super clean, great atmosphere with a balance between historic and contemporary Full bar, great choice of wine, including organic. Ray enjoys his customers and can be seen frequently checking on guests and clearing tables! A true perfectionist! Charming breakfast spot on Main St. Hands down the BEST sausage gravy I have ever had. We had the pleasure of being greeted and served by Ray. All of our dishes were delicious. We walked in and were asked where we would like to sit. I had requested a booth, told there's no booths available. As far as I could see it looked like the booths to the left were full. The 3 booths to the right were empty. Anyways we sat at the end table close to the door. A gentleman walks in after we've been sorted and asked for a booth. The girl said there's one right of front. The food was not good. The service was not good at all. We were checked on once. My husband was waiting for his coffee to be refilled. Also, the place is kinda creepy. It was errie in there, only a few people, pretty quite. I didn't even hear music, which is weird to me. All the restaurants I've been to I hear music in the background and people chatting. Great service at dinner from the waitress, generous portions, nice food presentation, reasonable prices. The chicken tortilla soup, Brussels sprouts appetizer, and smoked meatloaf were all very good. We would definitely return, but sadly are just passing through. Update: so good we returned after visiting Black Canyon and also recommend this short rib nachos and house wontons. I stopped into Ray's on a Tuesday night. It wasn't crowded....perfect. I sat at the bar by myself. Leah(?) was right there with water and the nightly special....which I ordered. It was a fried chicken breast with a red pepper cream sauce over rice. I was very happy with my meal, chicken was juicy and the sauce was very tasty. I couldn't walk away without trying the bread pudding. It was excellent. Leah's attentiveness was greatly appreciated and made my overall experience one to remember. From the moment we walked into Ray's we felt like we were home. The food is delicious, scratch made like your momma is in the kitchen. The service (Leah) is very friendly and fast. The food here is great. For breakfast I highly recommend the biscuits and jalapeño gravy, yum! If you want to have mimosas, they have bottle service for $25., fun! They are now open for dinner Thursday-Sunday. I've had the meatloaf and chicken thigh and our group tried several dishes, all really good. Food isn't always real hot though. (It's an epidemic in and of itself) Took way too long for water, drinks, ordering food etc. and they seemed confused when we asked for anything. The place itself is old school and we all loved that. Worst Bloody Mary ever! It was a glass of tomato juice, no seasonings and a whisper of vodka. Biscuits and sausage gravy were great, large in house made biscuit plentiful gravy that could have used more sausage. My wife's French toast was Texas toast and was very soggy, not good. Now for the zinger, bacon, it was a thick but so over cooked that it was hard to even bite let alone chew. Asked the waitress if this was the way bacon is always and she replied oh yes we like to serve it crispy, they bake it and then put it in the fryer to crisp it up. The service was very good. Words were said between the elderly couple (man) and the waitress when their food was served. Didn't catch anything until Ray came storming out of the kitchen grabbed the elderly folks plates and told the elderly couple to leave very loud.
