We started with the Mediterranean Hummus with the gluten free pita made from their gluten free pizza crust dough. The hummus was perfectly seasoned and the pita was cooked to perfection with the perfect mix of chew and warmth. The jambalaya pasta was very well seasoned and the sausage and shrimp were perfectly cooked. The waitress was excellent and helped us pick the best choices from the menu. She did not steer us wrong. The space is large and could accept large groups. Nothing special about the decor but that's okay because the food makes you think only about the food. Been here many times - never busy lol Don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing. But service is has been great - one time I sat at the bar and it took forever during lunchtime. I came during my break time. I will say - they are a bit slow in the kitchen sometimes. Can be a hit or miss there. I've had it both ways. Food is always good. Seems like they change their menu every so often. I've had the Asian dumplings recently - really good. Their brunch menu is great, breakfast pizza is good - wish there was more toppings on it. We were shopping closeby and decided to cone here for lunch. Large dining room with comfortable booths or tables, lots of bar seating. Not a huge menu, but we all were happy with our choices. I absolutely love this restaurant -- its story, its mission, and its food. The Plant-Based Double Cheeseburger is arguably my favorite veggie burger anywhere (and it's vegan, too!). Great texture, amazing flavor, and it actually holds together well. The side salad options are awesome. The fries are OK; they're thin and don't hold up well for pickup or delivery. I dined in this location on a Wednesday evening. There were only a couple tables occupied, but it still took about 5 minutes after being seated before anyone acknowledged me. Not a big deal, but noticeable given how calm the place was. On the plus side, parking is easy -- plenty of nearby options, including a free parking ramp just a block away. We ordered for delivery and got an assortment of things. Everyone really liked their salads and one person liked the Nashville chicken sandwich they got. The salmon that came with the salads/salmon entree was also delicious. We always get the edamame dumplings as a starter as they're our all time favorite! Unfortunately I got the tuna poke bowl and the tuna tasted really fishy (more so than normal, I always eat tuna sushi) so I didn't eat it. Met some good friends here for brunch last Saturday. We were able to make a reservation on Open Table for the three of us. The dining room was bright and clean and it has an open concept kitchen where you can see the food being assembled and cooked. The server was prompt and we ordered our beverages. All the food here is fresh and humanely sourced and therefore a little pricier although in my opinion it was worth it. We went to True Food Kitchen for NYE dinner and it was the best idea! After a week of holiday foods, sweets, and drinks -- having a place to go that was clean eating was great. Our server was very kind and helpful. She even exchanged the kids drinks after the kids realized the fizzy water was not kid-approved (not sweet). It got pretty busy after 6p, so it was a little understandable that she got busy but there were spurts of time that seemed extremely long and we had to wait. The overall restaurant setting is really nice! The tables are spread out, so you don't feel like you're encroaching on someone's meal. Our kids did great, although they got a little crazy at points. The setting at True is a little more refined so not a great place for kids, but totally doable. If you're hungry, I would suggest going elsewhere. The portions are appropriately sized for servings size - not for the price. For example, the guac and hummus dip comes with approx 14 chips. There's way more dip, so if you ask for more chips, they will bring you a tiny plate with approx 7-14 chips. We eventually asked for 2 more servings then gave up. (Definitely not like a Mexican restaurant!). Another example is the kids meals had more food than the entrees. The cheese pizza was a 11" and the teriyaki bowl was jam packed with ingredients. The tuna bowl was smaller. Overall, it's REALLY tasty food, the setting is nice and clean, and it's a great place to go. But not if you're really hungry or have a large appetite. read more

Not sure what's happened to True Food, but WOW, was it bad! Started out with a few order attempts and several basic items not available on the menu, a few trips by our very nice waiter to inform us. The food we did get was such a mess, no care taken whatsoever to make it even look appetizing. The cheesy potatoes were runny and inedible, the wilted salad haphazardly tossed next to a soggy, dripping burger on an icy cold bun. Absolutely not a $70 meal. What a perfect lunch! Went in for the first time yesterday and loved every minute of our lunch. Our hostess was friendly and she sat us in Camden's section. He is such a great server! Super friendly, great conversation, great food recommendations. It was honestly so nice to know how much he loves his job and is valued. More businesses need to take care of their staff like this!! The space is bright and clean. It got super busy while we were there, so it was a bit loud but zero negatives really. It was nice to see a business so busy and everyone still smiling. This isn't fast food so it takes a bit longer to prepare. This is healthy, fresh, house-made, from-scratch food and it's worth the price and the wait. Camden suggested the ancient grains bowl with salmon and it was a favorite of the table. So many vegetarian options, too. SO good! The salmon was cooked just like it was asked for, too, which was appreciated. Loved my grilled chicken wrap and (especially) loved the simple salad's vinaigrette dressing. The pineapple spritzer was a favorite, too (liked it a bit better than the grapefruit but both were great). Might not get the classic chicken sandwich next time because the two chicken pieces weren't very big. Definitely not better than the grilled chicken wrap or the grains bowl. Still good but I suspect better alternatives on their big menu. Highly recommended for a great lunch if you're in the Easton area. They have the cutest covered/heated patio, too! UPDATE: Today we tried dinner on the patio to give TFK another chance, since the brunch we reviewed went horrible. This time wasn't horrible, but it wasn't good. I dislike leaving negative comments. It eats at me.... Unfortunately we had then similar issues with timing of food as the previous brunch(review below this one): This recent trip in went like this: Reserved a table for 6pm We were greeted right away and taken to the patio. We didnt like the location of the table we were given, asked to sit more centralized... no problem with that request. we loved our new table. After that moment everything went sideways, again. We sat there for almost 15-20 min before we had a server show up to our table for just water service. We seriously almost left. We noticed we had napkins- but no flatware. Odd. So I asked for some. What I got was a fork. Also odd. However, server was nice. Actually his personality might have been the best thing about this dinner We order salads. One with thin steak on one. Shrimp on another. It wasnt busy - so this should have taken 15 min max to get to us. (Queue jeopardy music.) After waiting 5 or more minutes (felt like more than 10 minutes) I then set a timer. Food came 17.6 minutes after timer was set Worth noting-Server was very likable. Good personality. Couple sits down next to us. Five minutes after they sit down they order. In about 7 minutes-ish they have their FOOD!. A ancient grains bowl and a wrap. We still have no food. Cue the song "anticipation" especially the " you're keeping me waiting" part. Same table is now "finished" with their food. Other tables who came in after us have food. We are still waiting. 1/5 Cue Tom Pettys " the waiting is a hardest part" To me this screams someone forgot to log our order into the chefs queue. Finally- Food comes. Nice presentation. My salad is to have avocado. There is hardly any. I bring it to the attention of the seever. He offers to get me another side of it. (Im not paying for a side of avocado when I already paid for avocado... there should be more on it period) I want to start eating. So does my husband. We cannot- we have no knives! We wait a few minutes hoping the server will return. Nope. No servers in sight. I go in search of a knife. (Well two). A guest should NEVER have to do this. Ever. Seriously I would of had an easier time searching AND finding big-foot than I did looking for a knife... or a server for that matter. Any server. Or a manager. I stood at the bar unnoticed. However while Im inside, I notice the interior dining room is nearly empty but there is one party of about 14 people. I walk by and notice they have no food other than one small appetizer. So why is service so slow? Hmmmmm I finally find a random server and ask to get two knives. My server now appears, sees this and now meets me -getting said knives. He follows to our table, where I ask him what the delay in the salad was. He blames the (foodless) large party. I point out that our salad arrived before their food AND they have not been served food and only have one serving of hummus appetizer so how could they have caused any delay.... Crickets. (My bet is he may have taken our order , then took their order prior to placing ours and then forgot to place ours... see, I have worked in this industry.. pretty sure thats what happened). O/5 for a fib He doesnt really have a response to that as I assume I nailed it. Uhhhg. This is exactly what happened to us last time with a different server. (only our order ticket supposedly fell down and the kitchen never got our meal to us or so they claimed was the delay). Same slow, inattentive service Same overly inflated prices. Well, actually it seems even MORE expensive- if that is even possible. I blame management for not having the teams organized/trained properly and not having the orders "in" flowing smoothly. I was not impressed. My time is simply worth more than waiting excessive amounts of time and doing that has a less than zero value to me. I wish I could say the menu wowed me. I wish I could say the food was worth the wait. I wish I could say the service was flawless. I cannot. What I can say is the patio is comfortable, dog friendly and if you come at 6pm you may hear live music which is very enjoyable. Server was friendly. But you might want to bring a snack if you come. Early lunch while shopping. In town for a music festival and liked their story. Healthful food without artificial ingredients or sweeteners. This isn't a salad shop. They have a lot of great hearty entrees. Our waitress recommended the curry, and something else but I opted for the fried rice. It was a different kind of rice but still very good. It took a long time for our food to come out. Worth the wait. The fried rice with shrimp was excellent. Fresh and hearty. The flavors were amazing. The street corn was a nice treat. Very good. The pizza was tasty though the crust in the center of the pit was soggy. Like juice from the tomato sauce made it wet and it couldn't cook. The OG refresher was really nice with ginger and lime. I added fresh jalapeño slices to kick it up. It was initially hot in there as the day was heating up but they turned up the AC and was comfortable in no time. Beautiful space. If you like seasoned food and friendly service, I do NOT recommend this establishment. The food was not well prepared, lacked flavor, and served at room temperature. The service was mediocre. Our server came to our table once to bring waters. Then didn't return for almost 30 minutes. Once we ordered we waited another 30 minutes before our food was served which is probably why it was at room temperature. I also have several dietary restrictions so I frequently ask questions to ensure I don't order something that can negatively affect me. The server seemed annoyed by my questions. Both myself and my friend had to send items back because they just didn't taste good. I think they tried to get really creative with dishes and ended up making some poor tasting combination dishes. For example the charred cauliflower dish had dill pistachio and mint. It was disgusting. The fingerling potatoes had potential but they were overcooked and I almost broke a tooth trying to chew them. 12/10 restaurant! This is located at the greatest mall ever - and there's plenty of parking. I sat at the bar for quick service and the waitresses were super fast and friendly. The ambiance feels so open and fresh. At the bar, you look right out into the kitchen and can see the chefs preparing all food. The menu was so good, I wish I could've tried it all. I had the edamame dumplings, kale salad with shrimp, and a side of sweet potato. Everything was HEAVENLY. I felt perfectly full after I left. Delicious and fresh food! True Food is a cute spot at Easton, next to east parking that offers fresh food made daily. Lots of organic and healthier options available. Our table split an order of Brussels sprouts that were a medium to small portion with the slightest touch of spice. They are definitely more sautéed than roasted (so not a ton of crispy pieces) but still well prepared. I had the Pom Collins to drink and it was refreshing and just the right amount of pomegranate. The teriyaki bowl with chicken was delicious and flavorful with a decent amount of veggies. It wasn't so large I had leftovers but I did at least leave full! Others at my table tried the curry bowl (on the sweeter side), ancient grains bowl, poke and vegan burger and all were enjoyed! The only downside to the experience was slow service (our app came out after our food and we even had to ask for silverware when our food arrived in addition to some lulls between ordering and food and checks) and the fact that our table was freezing cold (we went in the winter but you basically needed to keep you coat on). Overall I'd try it again in hopes it was a one off night on the service since the food was good! read more

I was strolling around Easton looking for a place to dine and I'm glad I stopped here. They have a very unique menu that offered a non-ordinary dining experience. And, it was more hit than miss. For a drink I tried the smoke show old fashioned. It has a great presentation as it actually comes out smoking in a glass! As for the flavor...it was fine but could be more of an acquired taste - or at least one best suited for people who love a smoky flavor. For me, it was more like BBQ in a glass. However, I really liked the other drink I tried, the true story with gin snap peas pineapple and cucumber. The experience started with a pleasant aroma as you lift the glass to your mouth, and it finishes with a subtle tastiness that will make you desire a second glass. For my meal, I tried the Hawaiian fried rice. It was mostly excellent with a wide array of textures and flavors. But I was less excited about the fried egg. I'm familiar with a fried egg that is fried throughout, but this one was more sunny side up. The menu didn't warn me of this and neither did the waitress, so I guess it pays to ask for clarity. I'm not sure why in a restaurant with so much staff things took so long. It took at least five minutes for someone to seat us, in a nearly empty restaurant at 4:45 on a Saturday. The tables aren't dressed and we were finally shown to a table with no silverware. Our waitress took our drink orders, and 20 minutes later still no glass of wine. Finally I asked our waitress what was going on and she said maybe it was because they only had one bartender at that time. Told her I knew it wasn't on her, but 20 minutes for one glass of wine in an empty place is ridiculous. She agreed and went to get it herself, which I made sure she knew how I appreciated that. The was the only waitress for half the place, and she was running while other staff members wandered around chatting. This was my second time ordering from TFK, hoping for a much better experience than the first. However, it was on parity if not exactly the same as my initial visit. I waited over 25 minutes to even be acknowledged in the takeaway order area of the restaurant, only to be given food that was clearly sitting out for some time, cold, if not barely at room temperature. For further context, there were around 8 total diners sitting inside the restaurant, all of which had been seated and waited on, and had their meals while I was waiting for my order, placed nearly 45 minutes prior. The kale salad that I had ordered was clearly prepared days in advance with a collection of dressing sitting at the bottom of the container of wilted kale and likely spoiled cheese.
