Has NO Military or Veterans Discount : - (
    American L.

When the well's dry, we know desperately the worth of water. I've been a customer of Truckee Meadows Water Authority since it began. Truckee Meadows Water Authority (TMWA) was created by a cooperative agreement between Reno, Sparks and Washoe County. It began operation in June 2001. So far, the wells of Truckee Meadows Water Authority have never run dry. When life places stones in your path, be the water. A persistent drop of water will wear away even the hardest stone. Unfortunately, like far too many businesses, Truckee Meadows Water Authority does NOT have a Military Discount for the rare 1/2% of 1% of the population who are Active Duty, or a Veterans Discount for the rare 7% of the population who are Veterans. I would've rated 'em higher if they had a Military and Veterans Discount. I say to businesses and their owners. Like your Freedom? Then thank Active Duty and Veterans for it with a publicly disclosed Veterans and Military Discount every day. Nothing is a greater stranger to my breast, or a sin that my soul more abhors, than that black and detestable one, ingratitude. - George Washington, Commander-in-Chief during American War for Independence, and 1st US President Having an Active Duty and Veterans Discount is clearly an easy and inexpensive way, and a Patriot way, for any business to create a positive impression of the business among people in and outside of the Military Community. Over and over 95% of current and past Military Personnel and their families say that they notice when companies are "Military-Friendly" and that an Active Duty and Veteran Discount is what gives an immediate and positive first and lasting impression to any business. That also means 95% of current and past Military Personnel and their families notice when companies are NOT "Military-Friendly" and when companies DON'T have an Active Duty and Veteran Discount and that gives an immediate and negative first and lasting impression to any business. Unlike far too many other businesses: Their customer service has always been adequate with me. Their website is reasonably user friendly for me. It has a lot of information I find useful as I review it once a month. That is a professional touch that I wish all business did. When I have a credit balance I still get a bill with the amount debited and the remaining credit balance on it - unlike Charter aka Spectrum https://www.yelp.com/biz/spectrum-carson-city-2 , which is who our public representatives have given that monopoly franchise to. They properly credit my payments, have never misapplied my payment, unlike Waste Management https://www.yelp.com/biz/waste-management-reno-2?osq=waste+management , which is who our public representatives have given that monopoly franchise to. Their tours of their facilities are free, useful and informative. https://tmwa.com/meeting/ They are quick and professional about addressing water waste which they rely upon the eyes of the community to help them by reporting it. https://tmwa.com/article/report-water-waste-in-your-community/ Salaries for Truckee Meadows Water Authority employees are posted at https://transparentnevada.com

Thank you so much to TMWA! These gentlemen have been here since 1:00 when a water pipe broke.

Zero customer care at Truckee Meadows Water authority. There seems to be a climate of zero compassion at TMWA.

I'm halfway between the guy who said "This was way easier than the DMV" and my own opinion of "Why…read moreis this just as hard as the DMV?" Truth be told, for most things it's a lot easier, but apparently registering a boat with a motor of any kind requires nearly an act of Congress. Earlier this year I bought two plastic layout boats that had mounts for an electric trolling motor. I could use the boat with or without that motor, but of course the plan is to motorize them at some point. For that reason, I had to pull these plastic floating rectangles you slide into down to NDOW for an "inspection", which was nothing more than them looking at the boats, which I assume was to make sure they're actually boats, match numbers on a certificate of origin and taking a photo for the record. Prior to doing this I went to NDOW with all my paperwork to find out what I needed to do to get these registered. I laid it all out on the table and showed the woman what I had and was told I needed to bring them for an inspection along with the certificate of origin the seller provided me and we could get it all done. The reason for three stars is because after following those instructions I was told my paperwork wasn't sufficient. See because the paperwork was in the name of the seller, they would not accept that I owned the boats. Even though I had every piece of paper provided by the manufacturer and the title to the very trailer they sat on, it wasn't enough to prove I was the rightful owner. So after all of that, I had to track down the prior owner, bring him a bill of sale form (which they provided), get him to sign it, and then return to NDOW to complete the process. Because these plastic floating rectangles will have a motor on them they needed to be officially inspected, titled, and registered, and this process took me as long as it's gonna take to register the trailer! So if you have a kayak and you want to put a motor on it for any reason, you'll need all that and more. Kinda ridiculous.

I'm a remote landlord and gave him a call to top up my heating oil tank so it didn't get below the 4in it needs to keep running before my next tenant moved in. When I saw the charge I honestly thought it was a mistake on my credit card. When I used them before I was charged $150 to top off the tank. When I called him he immediately got short with me and blamed me. My first question was "why didn't you call me to tell me this was going to be the charge? Before I paid only $150-$250 max?" I did not authorize over 1.4k... he said "that's not how it works. We did what you told us to do." That's not true. I asked for a top up to my tank. At this point I feel defeated and I won't be recommending this company to my tenants anymore.
