Dr Harris was taking new patients so I scheduled with a clear understanding that I was coming for an annual wellness exam covered by Medicare. Unfortunately my appointment was during the flooding in the Austin area, with low water crossings closed prior to public road closings were updated. My travel to the clinic took 90 minutes that is typically 50 minutes. I checked in to the front desk 17 minutes late and Dr Harris made the decision to turn me away regardless of the 3 hour round trip I had just made, white knuckling it all the way. Since I didn't know her, I gave her the benefit of the doubt and rescheduled for the following day. Storms still prevailed but I took alternative routes and arrived 20 minutes before my appointment. Upon checkin I was told this annual physical would not be covered by Medicare. And was given a spread sheet that required fasting for the blood test, another request I made in advance to have before the exam, only to be told she doesn't do that with new patients, requiring a followup visit - I'm guessing for additional costs tacked on to the initial visit. She finally showed up to my room 30 minutes after the office visit was scheduled. This was our first introduction and I knew just by her appearance she was not in good physical health based on her obesity. I proceeded to share with her the appointment confusion over an annual wellness exam that clearly is covered by Medicare and the $215 costs now being required not to mention the return for labs. Then I showed her pictures of my previous days travel showing her the closed water crossings from the morning before, and the 17 minute delay. At that moment I was prepared to leave without an exam based on her 30 minute late entry to my 2nd appointment! I'm done with this "God" mentality in the medical industry and how rules apply to clients but not held by the same doctors that set these rules. And one more point...if you are in the medical industry, especially primary care, you should practice and look the part. One of the questions I was going to ask was her knowledge of nutrition, supplements and peptides along with HRT. I got my answer when the fat Dr Harris walked into my room. Do better.

We were taken to a room within 5 minutes and greeted by two nurses who immediately began consultation and setting up the IV. I love how quick the discharge process was -- they make it so simple for you. Shoutout to Colin and Sherry, they are the best nurses we have come across and that says a lot given we are in an ER every few months. They are very great at making you feel heard and overall just amazingly nice people. The best of the best. Dr. Wright was very knowledgeable and just as respectful/nice as the nurses. Dr. Wright spent the time with us that a lot of medical providers fail to do. He explained options, possible effects, and helped us with decision making. He never made us feel like he was in a rush. He listened and advised. Thank you for that. Overall, we were taken very good care of at Vik Complete Care and will certainly choose this location in the future. Thank you thank you thank you to Colin, Sherry, and Dr. Wright. You all helped make a terrible day a brighter one, and we greatly appreciate your kindness and thoroughness during our visit.

My heart was humbled by these people today. I know they are busy. I know they provide services that the community desperately needs and I take none of this lightly. It was time for a routine exam again since I've been sexually active after moving from California to Texas, and my new partner who is polyamorous encouraged me to try getting tested at this place. Pushing nerves and the unknown aside, I faced fear head on and went in for routine testing...and I found myself well taken care of by gentle souls who know what it's like to sometimes face the fear of responsibility, the fear of the unknown...and they helped turn that fear into confidence and empowerment by the end. Thank you, thank you, thank you! Please don't stop doing the selfless work you do for people. Before going, I checked my Humana insurance, which listed this facility as a provider, so I arrived expecting to use my coverage. Once I arrived, I was told they do not accept insurance, which was very confusing and concerning given how they were listed under my plan. I was then informed that costs would start at around $800 or more, and according to the receptionist, they do not perform X-rays. Despite my insurance copay being $45, I was insisted upon to pay $800 upfront before any examination, without being seen by a doctor or receiving any medical evaluation. Due to the excessive cost, I declined treatment and left. The receptionist was extremely rude and dismissive throughout the interaction, which only made the situation worse. Being pressured for a large upfront payment before any care was provided raised serious concerns. Overall, between the lack of transparency regarding insurance, exorbitant pricing, and unprofessional behavior, I chose not to proceed with treatment and will not be returning. This experience left me very uncomfortable and concerned about how patients are treated here.

I left the OB completely freaked out (the on call doc when I went was absolutely awful) & not to mention, with no diagnosis or meds or anything at all. As someone who suffers from anxiety, I had a full blown anxiety attack for the next 24 hours. The following day I couldn't take it and came down the road to viks. Due to the intimate nature of my issue, I requested a female doctor but they told me they only had male; so I just took what I could get, not a huge deal. Front desk was fairly nice, filled out the papers, and they took me back fairly quickly. My doctor was Dr. Mcalasdair (apologies if i spelled that wrong). While I did originally want an ultra sound, he attempted talking me out of it. We went back and forth for a little bit but ultimately he said he was pretty confident he knew what was causing this, and while he didnt think an ultrasound was needed, he was willing to call their ultrasound person to come down and do it if I was adamant. I eventually caved and agreed to not do the ultrasound. Although he did make a little dig during our convo which I didn't appreciate (he said something along the lines of "I've been doing this for 30 years so I think I know what I'm doing). Please don't be condescending. Regardless of how long you've been in medicine, people are still allowed to advocate for themselves & their desires for their treatment. Anyway - aside from that, he was attentive and reassuring. However I've got to give it to the nurse - she really soothed me and my anxieties. She was such a sweetheart. She was maybe a middle aged lady with a British accent. She was so attentive, answered all my questions, checked on me, and when she could tell how nervous I was, she even brought me a little mini teddy bear with a viks shirt on to hold onto. No matter how old you are, little gestures like that really mean something, especially when you're scared. In the end, what I got was an IV in the arm with antibiotics. I believe it took like 45 min to fully drain. While I just sat there and waited, my nurse even brought me a heated blanket to make sure I was warm and comfortable. She was the best. They wrote me a prescription for an oral antibiotic but we were unsure if we were gonna make it on time before the pharmacy closed. On the off chance we didn't, they gave me my first pill ther so I wouldn't have to worry about missing a dose that night (in case we weren't able to get it until the next day). Thankfully we did make it to the pharmacy before they closed though. But that was really thoughtful. In the end, we ended up paying the ER price upon leaving. I haven't received any other bill in the mail so I can't speak on that experience yet... Also - the doctor called the next day to check up on me but I was unable to answer so he left a message. I called back the following day, but he wasn't busy with a patient so a message was taken. No call back. Called again the next day, he wasn't at the lakeway location, he was at another location. So I called the other viks location I was told he was at and they took a message since he was busy with a patient and told me he would call me back. He never did. I called again a day or two later back to the lakeway location and they gave me the same story and said they'd take a message but I told them I had already tried that multiple times and got no call back and told them I just wanted to speak to anyone on staff nurse or otherwise for them to answer my questions. So they put me on hold and I spoke to another doc I'm assuming, but not the one I saw, not dr macalasdair. This doc was pretty vague and dismissive with his answers. Basically it was like a couple word answers or "I can't answer that unless you come back in & we look at you again"...... mkay. He was unhelpful. Between the snarky response when I was advocating for myself in the room & the lack of call back and unhelpful response I got when I finally demanded to speak to anyone doctor on staff, that's why I took one star off. Otherwise, I had a solid experience. They fixed me and calmed my nerves at the same time. If anything goes awry with billing, I'll be sure to update my review. But for now, thanks for helping me!

I've only had two phone interactions with the office since returning to care, and unfortunately, both were unnecessarily rude and condescending. The first was regarding a same day schedule change the office requested less than an hour before my appointment. When I couldn't accommodate the new time due to work, I was met with clear frustration and no flexibility. So I just made it work anyway. The second happened today: I had a virtual appointment this morning, and moments ago received a phone call demanding immediate payment -- not just for today's appointment, but also for one from a month ago that I hadn't even been notified about until just an hour earlier from my insurance. When I asked if I could pay through the portal, I was repeatedly pressured to pay over the phone instead, as if I was avoiding the bill. I have no issue paying my bill, and in fact, I paid it immediately after the call ended. But I was spoken to as if I had ignored multiple invoices, and the tone felt aggressive and was incredibly inappropriate. I understand that medical offices deal with difficult patients all the time. But kindness should be the standard, not the exception, especially when both phone calls I've had with your office staff have left a bad taste in my mouth. Thankfully, Dr. Ince makes it worth continuing care. But I'm genuinely relieved that my appointments are virtual, because based on how I've been treated, I have no desire to deal with this staff in person.

That way when I showed up I didn't have as much paperwork. On the day of my appointment I parked, walked in and was greeted by someone who took my name and birthday and checked me in. I had a slight wait on both occasions but it was never longer than 10 minutes. Someone eventually took me to a room where the usual happens. Someone took my blood pressure, and asked me why I needed to see a doctor. I stated my reasons on both occasions. Eventually I saw the doctor that was on duty and they took care of me. Each time I was treated kindly and with respect. Overall Next Level Urgent Care worked out well for me. It was really convenient for me and the people that work there were kind and respectful and I got the care that I needed.
