I already really struggle with blood work and an extreme fear of needles, and Id like to thank you for making that experience even worse. Full sarcasm while reading that please. I have to get blood work quarterly, and no matter what I do, even since I was a kid, I cant get over how hard it is. I freak myself out so much sometimes, I request each time I'm here to lay down to have my blood drawn since I get dizzy and faint sometimes. Not only was I ignored on 2 visits by the same doctor, and was sitting upright, but you guessed it. I got sick, dizzy, and ended up being there for 45+ minutes both instances. Instead of listening to me, and letting me lie down for the blood draw, you told me id be fine and then got irritated when i needed time to feel like i wasnt going to vomit and pass out. Don't complain to me you have other patients to see when my face is pale, my hands are clammy, and i can barely see with my vision blurring in and out. Since were on the topic of this doctor still, my most recent visit i wasnt even seen. I checked in, and the scanner wasnt working so i got a number. I waited for an hour, with everyone else going before me, and then new patients getting seen instantly while i still sat there. Of course, my favorite doctor from the pits of hell was there, and made eye contact with me MULTIPLE times and didnt think to ask me if i was checked in, or needed help. When i finally got the balls to bother her, she stopped me and said "theres a queue, you just wait your turn." My appointment was 11am. It is 12:23, and there were plenty of people who went ahead of me. This happened about a week ago, but ive honestly been so frustrated its taken me time to figure out what to even do with what happened. If you have to absolutely get your blood work done here, avoid the doctor whos short, has a red & black bob cut & is usually wearing a face mask & heavy set, avoid her like the godamn plague. She doesnt care about you, your concerns, and isnt here to help you. Honestly super happy i dont know her name so i dont have to permanently hate people with her name forever. I am a nurse that frequents Quest at least 3 time a week for the last 5 years. The serve has vastly improved since my time is not wasted sitting in the lobby waiting to turn in blood that I have already drawn. Thank you Quest for being considerate of my company's time and I'm now able to deliver the labs and get going to my next patient in a timely manner. The only reason I didn't give a 5 star rating is because at each lab the techs are different. One will have me wait as they type in all the patient info, while another my take my lab and thank me for coming. Another will have me sign, while one had me type in patient info at the kiosk in the waiting room. Inconsistent receipt of labs is confusing and sometime frustrating. read more

Showed up for scheduled appointment. Office was open but nobody was here aside from the 2 other people with scheduled appointments prior to mine. Even though it's the first time this happens to me here, it just seems par for the course given prior experiences. It appears Quest chronically understaffs these offices. Ive never seen more than 1 person, who looked stressed and tired, in the office when I came. I guess that's how you make 700 million in profit per year, by paying a single phlebotomist 17 per hour to run the whole location themselves and then wondering why they don't bother to show up sometimes. Given how difficult it can be to even get an appointment, it is particularly annoying to show up when I have the appointment to realize they have wasted even more of my time. read more

I set up my yearly appointment for lab draw for insurance purposes, fasted, showed up on time. There was already an upset patient waiting at the locked door. The line started forming behind me of angry people waiting for lab draws. The pharmacist who was working just next door saw what was happening and came over and told us this is common practice for Quest. read more

I took a family member to this location this afternoon with a scheduled appointment. There was only one staff member on duty, and she struggled first to find the paperwork, and then to find the doctor in their system. It took a call to the doctor's office to resolve. The patient was a 'hard stick', but either the inexperience of the phlebotomist or her "two sticks and I'm done" attitude caused a missed draw and a wasted appointment. Plus, her demeanor and statements screamed that it was more about her comfort and convenience than that of the patient. Whatever you do, please don't blame the 81 year young patient for your lack of knowledge, skills, and ability! There was no reason for hurry up, as we were the only ones in the office from start to finish. Perhaps I know why now. I won't be back to this location for certain. With no patients on the room except myself I asked how long do you think that might take? I only need blood work ? She had no idea we would just have to wait and see. I asked how many appointments do you have lined up in front of me- she couldn't tell me that. I Asked if I should make an appointment- she replied if you like -you can do what ever you want - several times. I walked out feeling like she was discriminating and was not going to accommodate my medical need. I've had the same labs done every six months for over twelve years. With the exception of a year with LabCorp, they've always been done at Quest. I made an appointment this morning and starved myself. The lady said they had no orders. I called the doctor's office. They said they sent them the same way they always had, but they would fax them as requested. I've now been waiting over an hour as I've been out back in the walk in queue. If you call the 1800 number for Quest and make the mistake of saying appointments, the automated system won't let you get an operator. If you get a person and you explain the situation they say they can't help you get an earlier appointment. It's the standard giant company crap system that claims they can only do what the computers tell them. Even assuming that the doctors office magically messed up for the first time in twelve years, this is still Quests fault. The woman said standing orders expire after six months. Obviously there should be a better system to call on records if you literally have the same things done every few months for more than a decade. Edit - the actual tech was very nice. She gave me a hard copy of labs and said it should allow them to do the bloodwork if they don't have the request from the doctor's office. I would still only give 3 stars given the fact that the 1800 number is ridiculous and there is plenty of bad process here leading to bad situations. read more

My second visit to this location was last week and I will never be going back! My doctor ordered a draw for my annual physical and I have yet to receive the results. When I called to ask about them the woman (Jazzy) was very rude and hung up the phone on me. When I showed up at the location a few minutes later she threatened to call the police on me. I had to go give a "sample" for a drug test for my new job today. Let me put emphasis on the words "had to" because if it was my choice I would've turned around and walked out as soon as I saw the inside of the place. Sketchy, dirty, uncomfortable, barren, sterile (not in the clean way, but in the lack of emotion way.) For the first 15 minutes I was there I did not see a staff member. Then the only one that was working showed up and took the lady who was there before me. I sat there another 30 minutes feeling extremely nervous and uncomfortable. She finally called me back. I find that when you must do these such tests you need to feel comfortable in order to... ahem... do what you need to do. The woman made me feel very rushed, she was extremely rude. I was happy to leave this place when all was done. Sometimes places just make you feel really unhappy and miserable and dirty, this is one of those places. If you aren't in my position where you have no choice but to go here, then you really ought to get your testing done elsewhere. This place is awful. read more

So I believe some of the other reviews are bundling the entire experience into their 1 star experience. So corporate, "Listen Up!" or you may find people heading to LabCorp or the like. This is a challenging location to find, and locate the actual front door. If you are traveling north on Bed White and not in the far right lane expect to go around the block once. The building number is blocked by a bus stop and city garbage can. There are no logo'd signs and Quest Diagnostics isn't listed on the marque between the two buildings. I only located them after circling the entire building slowly. A tiny logo on the door is all you have to go on. I was greeted on arrival by Allie. She is pleasant yet direct in her instructions. Once we headed back for the blood-draw she engaged in conversation about pet's and before I knew it, I was walking out of the place. She had also provided me with a new app that would get me the lab results a bit faster. I downloaded the app without issue. She also provided a feedback request phone number for how she did during my visit. The feedback line experience technical difficulties and hung up on me. When I went in person to pick up the test results I was met with a surly and defensive attitude and told that they had no way to access results. I showed up fasting as instructed. The place wasn't very well marked and hard to find so I had to walk all over the lot while my blood sugar continued to drop. I told the receptionist that I was a type 1 diabetic with dangerously low blood sugar and she said "too bad, there are 2 other people in front of you so you'll have to wait. if you drink juice it will mess up the blood test." I put my name on the waiting list and sat down hoping the line would go fast and that I could get some juice as soon as they took my blood. The receptionist should have said "sorry you are going low" and offered me juice right away and possibly even explained the situation to the people in line to see if they minded waiting a few extra minutes so that I could get a blood draw before. Empathy goes a long way to keeping you in business. Nobody was called back from the waiting room for 10 minutes. I knew I wasn't going to make it and went back to my car where I kept sugar. I called my wife and apparently started yelling and crying about the whole ordeal. I don't remember much after that... I came to my senses about an hour later with all my car doors open and a couple of EMTs giving me glucose gel and asking me questions. They were both very nice and stayed with me until I tested normal and I convinced them I was okay to drive. I was so lucky they found me in time. One of them even gave me directions to the nearest Arby's so I could get some protein. I eventually made it in to work around 1PM and read my wife's side of the story in the following Facebook post... --- "There is something seriously wrong with the world. My type 1 diabetic husband needed a routine blood draw and was required to fast for 12 hours before. He went to the lab and was starting to go low but if he ate anything it would compromise the draw. He got to the point that he couldn't function and called me from his car after walking out of the lab without a blood draw, not knowing where he was or what was going on. I called the medical lab, told them he was in the parking lot and he needed juice, that he was going dangerously low and juice would get him to normal the fastest so he could function again. They refused. Said there was nothing they could do. So then I had to call an ambulance. I can hear them on speaker phone trying to talk to him now. I don't know what's going on. If someone would have just listened to me and helped him half an hour ago, he wouldn't be in this spot. JUICE is not a medical administration. It's JUICE. You just hand it to him. I currently hate his doctor for not having a lab on site. And I hate the lab for being so stupid and not listening to me. Also for not listening to him when he started to go low. I hate diabetes. I do, however, love iphones. Going into find my iphone online was the only way I was able to direct the EMS to him. He's okay now. I can hear him talking to the EMS guys over my phone. But 45 minutes since he called me low and confused. 45 MINUTES. As my last experience with the Brodie Lane CPL was less than impressive, I decided to try a different lab company. Had a great experience with Quest Diagnostic - friendly and professional staff. The lady drawing blood had posted pictures of her dog all over the walls for people to distract themselves with while their blood was being drawn. It's the little things! While this lab was also slightly less expensive that CPL, this also took a few extra days to get my blood work to my doctor. It wasn't urgent, so I gladly excepted the slight delay, cheaper price and friendlier/more professional staff over the extremely rude and unprofessional staff members at CPL on Brodie Lane. read more

It has been really a frustrating experience with getting my lab results. I have spent almost 2 hours on the phone and still not body has any clue on my lab results. I don't think I am going to consider quest any more for my next lab test results. I was transferred five different location in order to find my lab results and no body could find them. One of the technician told me that my name is wrong on the report and that why I guess its lost somewhere and no body cares to figure out that the report reached the patient or the provider. My son went in Oct 2014, I received a bill in March 2015. I paid the bill, well I paid the bill with my FlexSpending account and it came out of my 2015 account and not the money I had left from my 2014 account. I asked them to refund me the money because my Flex card will be cut off due to them billing me 6 mo. after the fact and me doing the right thing and paying my bill. They told me to pay them again and they'll refund me. Why dont you refund me and I'll pay you again. I'm so so so pissed off. Though I brought in printed paperwork from my doctor they were unable to figure out which test to give me and had to call the doctor's office to ask how to do their job. This place is dirty and the people working here are extremely rude. They do not answer the phone or even return calls. I went in for followup lab work and they said they didn't have my lab request. I knew there had to have been some sort of mistake. I couldn't call my dermatologist because their office wasn't open yet. They said I could hang around for another hour until they opened but that wasn't an option because I had to open my office. I find out from my dermatologist the address on my id from before I moved (still waiting on the new one to come in the mail) and that they had just searched me wrong. I told my dermatologist to send my lab request to my family doctor because this place isn't worth the drive and on top of that the employees attitudes. read more

my doctors office uses them as a seperate inoffice lab, Sneed at Austin Family Medicine, and they are horrible. Cannot give you any costs. I took a test in Feb and the technician told me there would be NO COST on the test because of the doctors order. Of course received a bill for 198.35 and called in to corporate and talked to an asshole manager that said he cannot do anything or even straighten out the information/costing being told in doctors office. Needless to say I am getting another doctor that using a different lab as I have heard this Quest place is a joke. I am filing a lawsuit against them for not standing by their employees word, as I AM NOT the employee, but the manager said it's MY duty to get the pricing. REally? MINE? If they cannot provide their employees with onsite pricing they need to close their doors. I will sue for all the hassle and all court costs, tired of places like this ripping off insurance companies and the customer. read more
