I've been going to PBT on and off for years, mostly for spray tans. Last year I tried their 4-pack…read moreof sauna sessions with red light therapy and really enjoyed it -- it was warm, relaxing, and close to home. That's what made me decide to join a membership when I got an email deal in August. On 8/22 I signed up for the $49.95/month wellness membership, thinking it included the same sauna with red light I had enjoyed before. I was clear to "T" when I signed up I wanted what I used in the 4-pack and repeated to her that I was buying the membership with red light sauna and she confirmed with me that I was. Unfortunately, I never got to use it once. My first visit, the sauna wouldn't turn on at all and I was told a manager would call me (no one ever did). When I came back, I found out my membership didn't actually include the red light sauna at all -- and the one that does is $69.95/month, a price that isn't even listed anywhere. I was told "they don't really advertise it" by the Manager. Luckily, the manager was there that night and since I hadn't been able to use it at all, I cancelled that night and was told a refund would take 10-14 days (still waiting to see if it covers both partial August and September). The employees I interacted with were all friendly and tried to help, so I don't blame them. But the memberships are very confusing, and management really needs to train the team so customers know exactly what they're buying. Disappointing, because I was excited after trying the 4-pack, but never got to use the membership I thought I was signing up for.

I had a spray tanning membership with Palm Beach Tan from February through October 2025. In…read moreOctober, I went into the salon in person to cancel my membership. Two employees assisted me and confirmed that my membership had been canceled. I also had a witness with me during this interaction. I was informed that my membership would remain active only until the end of that month and then terminate. Because of this, I believed the matter was fully resolved. Unfortunately, I recently discovered a flag on my account in March 2026 and realized that my account has continued to be charged despite canceling my membership months ago. I had to cancel originally because the spray tans were causing my skin to break out, not because I wanted to stop coming in. Up until this situation, I truly had nothing negative to say about Palm Beach Tan and had always had positive experiences. I did call the salon and the employee I spoke with was very kind and understanding, and I appreciate her professionalism. However, I am extremely disappointed and frustrated that my membership was apparently never properly canceled despite being told it was. I would appreciate clarification on why my account continued to be charged after my cancellation, as well as assistance in resolving this issue and addressing the charges that occurred after October 2025. It seems to be reoccurring which is super frustrating if I didn't cancel my membership, I would be actively going in however, I was told my membership was canceled after I took the steps to do so

This business is not worthy of even 1 cent of your money. I requested back in 2024 to cancel my…read more"membership." In March 2026, I received a collection notice claiming I never canceled. This is a horrible way for a business to conduct itself. Of course when I called, they wouldn't speak to me and I don't think I'm alone. I can't be! If a business is reputable and conducting itself in such a way, they wouldn't have to extort people to earn revenue! I won't stand for it. BBB will hear all of it and so will my attorney. SAD!! Btw, They are now called Palm Beach Tan at their Chandler location. BBB gives them a D.

My experience with Tru Tan in Queen Creek has been nothing short of frustrating, misleading, and…read moreunprofessional. I initially visited the salon in September 2023 to purchase a few tanning sessions before a cruise. The young lady at the front counter (likely a high school student) advised me that purchasing two months of service would be more cost-effective than individual sessions. I explained that I only needed one month, but she assured me I could "freeze" the second month for use within six months. That sounded reasonable, so I agreed and used the service for a few weeks in September. Fast forward to April 2024, the month I intended to use the "frozen" second month. Due to a back injury, I was physically unable to lay flat in a tanning bed, and as a result, I never used the service that month, yet I was charged for it. The real problems began in May 2024 when I noticed a completely unauthorized charge on my credit card. I returned to the Queen Creek location and was told they could not provide a copy of my signed agreement in person--I had to email info@trutanning.com. On May 5, 2024, I sent a detailed email requesting: * A copy of my signed contract * Immediate cancellation of my account * Confirmation that no further charges would be made to my card I received no response. I followed up with a phone call and spoke to a manager (possibly named Stacy) who informed me that I could not obtain a copy of the original contract unless I came in and signed a new one--which is not only absurd, but deeply unprofessional. Despite her verbal assurance that no further charges would be made, two more charges hit my account: * $112.90 on July 2, 2024 * $97.90 on July 5, 2024 At this point, I contacted my bank to dispute the charges and blocked Tru Tan from making further transactions. I also followed up with a second, more urgent email on July 7, 2024, reiterating my demands for cancellation and a contract copy--still no response. Since then, I have received 18 harassing notifications from Tru Tan stating that my "payment has not gone through," dated from August 2024 through May 2025. I have not used their services since September 2023. Their refusal to stop charging me and provide a copy of a contract I supposedly agreed to is outrageous. This business has: * Misled me into signing a recurring contract under false pretenses * Failed to provide a copy of said contract * Ignored multiple written and verbal cancellation requests * Continued to charge me and attempt further unauthorized payments * Harassed me for nearly a year with payment notices This is not just poor customer service--it borders on predatory billing practices. I regret not checking Yelp beforehand, as many others have had similar experiences. I strongly advise avoiding Tru Tan at all costs. No service is worth this level of stress, hassle, and outright disrespect for customer consent.
