I've been going to PBT on and off for years, mostly for spray tans. Last year I tried their 4-pack of sauna sessions with red light therapy and really enjoyed it -- it was warm, relaxing, and close to home. That's what made me decide to join a membership when I got an email deal in August. On 8/22 I signed up for the $49.95/month wellness membership, thinking it included the same sauna with red light I had enjoyed before. I was clear to "T" when I signed up I wanted what I used in the 4-pack and repeated to her that I was buying the membership with red light sauna and she confirmed with me that I was. Unfortunately, I never got to use it once. My first visit, the sauna wouldn't turn on at all and I was told a manager would call me (no one ever did). When I came back, I found out my membership didn't actually include the red light sauna at all -- and the one that does is $69.95/month, a price that isn't even listed anywhere. I was told "they don't really advertise it" by the Manager. Luckily, the manager was there that night and since I hadn't been able to use it at all, I cancelled that night and was told a refund would take 10-14 days (still waiting to see if it covers both partial August and September). The employees I interacted with were all friendly and tried to help, so I don't blame them. But the memberships are very confusing, and management really needs to train the team so customers know exactly what they're buying. Disappointing, because I was excited after trying the 4-pack, but never got to use the membership I thought I was signing up for. read more

the bought and/or aquired all of the competition. In doing so, they hike prices up that are outrageous. I have been to many locations . None of them are clean , their equipment is never maintained, they will hire anyone off the street it seems but with no where else to go , what does someone do? Someone need to open some competition and make these people realize that their prices are not high because the reflect a "premium " experience lol. I have going faithfully to tanning salons since 2003, first Malibu Tan, then Darque Tan, then Palm Beach comes and buys everyone and so far has been the worst at cleanliness , customer service , equipment maintaince , and even (as a business development rep for years ) marketing . Top to bottom it's a disaster , poorly run and they don't care. They don't have to because in many places they're the only game in town. This is in no way disparaging the nice girls that do work hard where I go regularly. This is about the company as a whole. They need an overhaul , better oversight, hiring cleaning crews instead of depending on your 18-20 something employees to clean your salons, streamline your marketing and make it clearer , and realize that no one wants to pay your prices for the services they receive in return. I had a spray tanning membership with Palm Beach Tan from February through October 2025. In October, I went into the salon in person to cancel my membership. Two employees assisted me and confirmed that my membership had been canceled. I also had a witness with me during this interaction. I was informed that my membership would remain active only until the end of that month and then terminate. Because of this, I believed the matter was fully resolved. Unfortunately, I recently discovered a flag on my account in March 2026 and realized that my account has continued to be charged despite canceling my membership months ago. I had to cancel originally because the spray tans were causing my skin to break out, not because I wanted to stop coming in. Up until this situation, I truly had nothing negative to say about Palm Beach Tan and had always had positive experiences. I did call the salon and the employee I spoke with was very kind and understanding, and I appreciate her professionalism. However, I am extremely disappointed and frustrated that my membership was apparently never properly canceled despite being told it was. I would appreciate clarification on why my account continued to be charged after my cancellation, as well as assistance in resolving this issue and addressing the charges that occurred after October 2025. It seems to be reoccurring which is super frustrating if I didn't cancel my membership, I would be actively going in however, I was told my membership was canceled after I took the steps to do so read more

I went in last week for a spray tan & felt pressured to buy $25 extra on add ins that were supposed to make my tan darker and last longer, they did neither! Unfortunately the next morning i woke up after a $78 tan and I was NOT TAN. The color was maybe a shade darker than my skin tone & splotchy. Not even a week later my "tan" is completely gone. Mind you one of the add ons purchased was for rapid/express, even though I slept in it overnight the color still did not develop. I should've have known better when i seen the 2.5 star review on yelp!!! As a single mother of an infant child my schedule is very hectic so i wasn't able to call until 2 days later. Whoever I spoke with initially was claiming that they could not find me in the system then when she found me she said there was nothing she could do because of the fact that i called 2 days later instead of the next day, RIDICULOUS! If you're looking to be tan THIS IS NOT THE ESTABLISHMENT! If you're looking for good customer service THIS IS NOT THE ESTABLISHMENT! If you're looking to throw your money away this IS the establishment!!! The least management could've done is offer me another tan, or credit towards a future tan but nothing was done to right the wrong. This is a horrible establishment, a horrible experience and all around a waste of time and money. Unfortunately - just like everyone else who has commented on palm beachon yelp, I was also scammed. All the young girls who work here are lovely, friendly, etc, but the mgt and owners are only interested in scamming you. I paid for two accounts, prepaid for one account as a gift. They told that person I only paid for one acct and she had to start paying on her own. Meanwhile, they were billing me for both and more... so, let's see, that 4 accts paid for... I cancelled the account and they kept billing me for ever. I told them, just waive one month and I'll forget the rest... The managers told me to pound sand and quoted the EFT policy. Stultus! I'm sure they don't know what it means, but they can look it up. I've obviously contacted my bank to have over $1800 in charges disputed. It's too bad the people in charge think you have to scam people in order to run a successful biz. I recommend you go anywhere else. read more

I came in because I saw a free promo for your first tan and I wanted to try it out to see if this would be a place I would want a membership at. The employee said that I could use that on my NEXT visit and proceeded to charge $40.55 for a single spray tan when she said it would be $15 if I signed up for the monthly subscription. After doing that she said it came with a free supplement, but looking on my account it doesn't appear that it was free. Got absolutely scammed to the point it was embarrassing. Shame on your business for taking advantage of people who don't understand everything about your over-complicated spray tans. Not to mention the tan was AWFUL and left spots all over my body from being clogged. read more

When going to pay for my spray tan, instead of it being a "one and done", you'll have essentially have no choice but to sign up for a monthly membership. It poses as roughly $14/month, but my first tan was $80 and every following one was $40+. My sister-in-law even mentioned it was like pulling teeth to just pay for a one-time spray tan. After trying to cancel my membership, I was told that I could only do it online but my account was deleted (not by myself) so it took much more effort than necessary to simply cancel my membership. The spray tan is done via machine which results in a lack of precision, and the service/vibe of the facility never felt welcoming. I'm saddened that this was my experience! I've been coming to this location for years now, and I've ALWAYS had a good experience every single time I go in! Every time I'm there the staff are always so nice and answer all my questions, and they always help me achieve the best tan. Not to mention they keep place SPOTLESS. They do a great job at keeping the facility, clean and always keep me wanting to come back. I've built relationships not only with the employees that work there but also the people who come in. They sold me a 3 pack of tans and said they would never expire. If they expired, I wouldn't have purchased since I only get tanned before trips or events. So I went in later to use and they then told me they expire in 45 days from purchase and I was out of luck. So they scammed me. I won't be returning. read more

I pay $15 per month for a monthly spray tan, which is an awesome price. Light, medium, or dark options, which I love and they usually last me 2 weeks. Add ons like the color accelator and scents are a few bucks extra. Everyone I have encountered at the front desk is so sweet and they run monthly promos too so if one tan is not enough, you get VIP pricing for additional tans. I don't use tanning beds (sorry, but they just aren't good for your health!), but the entire facility appears to be very clean. If you do the membership, just remember if you don't use it, you lose it! read more

I am incredibly disappointed with the tan I got before my vacation. I felt pressured to buy all the add-ins that are "supposed to make your tan last longer and wear off more evenly". To keep it simple, that was the worst and most over priced ($70) spray tan I have ever had. Not to mention, someone else was waiting to use the spray tan booth and I was rudely rushed by the staff through my service. I have never had a spray tan from a machine so i was trying to take my time, since I paid an absurd amount for it. Sad I paid for the membership because I will absolutely not be back. read more

So disappointed with my experience. I payed $80 for a three spray tan package. Little did I know I'd be adding on another $40 for all the "must haves" you have to add to your spray tan They made it seem like I absolutely had to add them on. I felt very taken advantage of. Deceiving! Went in to cancel my membership, had a conversation regarding the benefit of the "stay-and-save" program, I declined and opted to cancel. I did not get to see the document I was asked to sign on a pin pad, later to receive and email stating I signed the stay and save agreement rather than the cancellation agreement. Then received another email from a previous cancellation dated approximately a year prior, when I called to confirm it was cancelled, it showed on their end as I was enrolled in the stay and save program. I requested to have my membership cancelled and I was told she did not want to get involved and I had to speak with the person I initially cancelled with. I then received a call back stating my membership had been cancelled, but they could not provide that in writing, I would either have to call corporate to get it resolved or come back in to sign the correct document. Also, this same thing happened to my husband about a year ago so I cannot say this is an isolated issue. Very disappointed in the deception and level of professionalism. read more

70$ for a tanning bed session and spray tan!? Just the mystic spray machine!? I was so shocked. She didn't inform me of the prices or what I was getting other wise I would have went to Sunchain who offer way better deals. Also it's hard when it's so packed and there's only one girl working. I went in before a vacation to rocky point, and I liked that they customize your color.. but I didn't even get tanner!? I think she was nervous because I said I didn't want to be too dark. But for 70$ for a tan that was light and didn't even keep me tan by the time I got to the beach.. total waste of money. So if you're going in just for a vacation tan.. go to sun chain! So much cheaper and I know the coloring is better. And no I don't work for Sunchain.. just helping out other ppl who might come across this as well. read more

I am hoping by leaving this review I can help make the world a better place because one more business out there might realize that bait-and-switch advertising and deceptive pricing does not get them customers. I went in already willing to spend money on a spray tan. I was informed that a monthly package was the most cost-effective. I agreed, and the staff member took my credit card information. Then she proceeded to tell me about the colors that I would need to add to my tan. "No, thank you," I said. I just wanted to try the base color since it was my first time sunless tanning. Oh, but apparently there isn't really a good color in the base, and I needed to buy the color upgrades...still confused about this one but basically she was telling me I needed $8 worth of colors to actually make the tan look like a tan (and these were single-use packages that I would need to purchase every time). Next came the scents. According to the very nice gal at the desk the base scent stinks and I would need to buy a scent which was another one-time use product that I would need to buy every time I tanned. Then, she tried to sell me a lotion which she also insisted was necessary. This I could buy in single use or a bottle. At this point, I was looking at $15 per tan PLUS the monthly membership. Of course, remember that she already took my credit card information and did not share the rest of the information with me until after. I explained I was in over my head and was looking for something a little more cost-effective and straightforward. Honestly at this point I felt like the pricing model was meant to try to trick me, which I did not appreciate at all. Upgrades are one thing, but when a tanning package is marketed it should at least include the basic (like color) and not be stinky. I asked the gal at the front desk to cancel my information I told her I would not be purchasing everything. Hopefully I do not see any monthly charges start up! Note: through this entire experience the front desk staff member was very nice. She did not tell me about all the costs up front, which I did not appreciate, but I imagine she is trained not to. 0 stars if she had been rude, but at least she was friendly while she was trying to sell me on a deceptively-priced tan. I went up the street to Tan Max, where I was easily sold their monthly tanning package simply because it felt so refreshing to have someone tell me up front what I was going to be charged and when. Paid for a rapid Mystic spray tan. Didn't get tan at all. Hoped it would develop within 24 hours, as they had mentioned. But it didn't. So I was in Mexico on vacation white as milk. My friends all agreed I didn't change shades whatsoever. I even paid extra for the stuff that evens out the tone and takes out the Orange. They were very nice people and it seemed very clean. The mystic booth was claustrophobic. I'll stick with the open air spray where a human sprays you. This was a complete and total waste of money. Mega disappointment. read more

99% thumbs up! This location is very well lit, very clean, and easy to find with plenty of parking. I signed up for the bronze package and bought lotion with Madison...who is absolutely great! She knows her stuff and has fantastic customer service skills! My only wish is that the bronze bed has an adjustable fan. It's either on, which is too much for me, or off, which when using a tingle lotion gets hot. (I could also be using it wrong but was to lazy to get dressed and ask :)) I will find out and edit if needed read more

I walked into Palm Beach Tan, first time customer, inquiring about a spray tan for an upcoming special occasion. The front desk staff was very helpful. I explained that I wasn't sure if a spray tan was right for me, but I wanted to try one to see if I liked it before getting one for the actual occasion. I was promptly bombarded with the most overwhelming sales pitch I have ever experienced! From exfoliants, extenders and primers, to sign up fees and upsells for organic options. What exactly, is organic about a chemical that stains your skin? I was also told I had to pay for the color, oh, and BTW, you need 2 colors. So, if I were to enter the spray booth, it would spray clear mist, unless loaded with a color I had to pay for? Avoid Palm Beach and head to Tanmax. I ended up there hassle free and with a nice, little glow. And- you're first tan is only $5.00! Yes, please! read more

Beyond frustrated. Pay 80 a month to tan at the top level. I understood the first week when the bed was not working but now we are into week two and still want us to tan in the lower bed levels but not give us any compensation or credit. If i can't use what I pay for for going on two weeks then there should be some credit on my account. Been going here for years and thinking it might be time for a change. The excuse is the people that fix the beds is on vacation. So then accommodate your customers when you can't provide the service they pay for. read more

just moved from out of state and needed (well wanted) to find a new place for spray tanning. This was the closest, wow girls very nice HOWEVER everything is a extra charge surprised wasn't charged to walk in door. I paid roughly $50 for two tans which I was told last 7 days minimum (I usually do versa but they said mystic was better)....yep nope it was long gone within 2.5 days. And my old home town your level/color was included and would get a package 5 tans for roughly $60. Someone else recommended TanMax I will be going there to try. read more

First I must say that I was a previous member of Darque Tan. Palm Beach took Darque Tan over a few months ago and made some significant improvements. I would give this place 3 stars based on the fact that they have some super high end beds. A level three bed will mist you with water if you're feeling too hot. Very cool feature, they also provide you with eye ware vs. almost always having to purchase or buy your own. Okay so for the downside - A Single Tan in that awesome level three can run you $25 for one single session. They have package deals but are a bit pricey. Overall decent experience. read more

The staff is friendly and the space is clean. Monthly rates are cheap for the lowest level beds, which is all I use anyway. They give lil perks the longer you're there. Got a free spray tan for signing up, and every month since I get some sort of special offer. I think that's a nice way to reward loyal customers. I'm just looking for a cheap place to get some color, not trying to go crazy and bake myself to death, so this place offers exactly what I need. This place is horrible! Up sell is the name of the game and then they won't let you use your minutes claiming you have to build up to the full time. I am cancelling my Membership and joining a place that won't try to sell me over priced lotions and expensive plans they won't let me use!!!!! Stay away! Now a month later I have finally cancelled my membership and i called to see if I had left some jewelry there and they won't even discuss over the phone. All I asked was if they could check so that j don't drive all the way there to talk to them about what is in their safe. Nope - won't do that over the phone. As being a prior member with Darque Tan for 7 years, I am appalled with the new set up and the business practice. First off, prior to them being Palm Beach Tan, if you put money on your account, which is different than a full fledge membership, (now they call this tan dollars) you could pro rate each bed meaning if you wanted to go for only 6 minutes they would adjust the cost of each tan for the amount of time you request. As of the new take over if you decide to use a level 1 bed be prepared to pay full cost whether you tan for 6 minuets or 20 minutes. Secondly, I had some money in my account from when it was Darque Tan. I started using some of the money before I went out of town in November 2014. After settling back and returning for tan, with money that should be still in my account after the first of the year 2015, I was told that I had absolutely no "tan dollars". When I asked where the remainder of my money was the employee told me well it disappears after the 1st of the year. She also proceeded to tell me how I should of been told that, which it was never mentioned to me. The manager who called and left a message was not sympathetic and said there was nothing she could do, that's just the way we work things!!! I really enjoyed tanning at this location of Palm Beach really clean, nice beds, the staff "was" real friendly and helpful. They always offered the promotions but didn't get all pushy with the lotion sales, till just recently that is. They got a new manager and it feels like I am at a car dealership. I tell her I'm not interested and she still continues to push. Hopefully she'll be gone when I go back. It's really starting to tick me off. read more

This location is very clean and sanitary. Just a few things I had issues with... 1) in the tanning rooms they place cards for referring new clients, the one in my room had obviously been reused several times as it was covered in tanning lotion. 2) everything in this place is very sales oriented. While I understand the importance of sales, I felt like I was being pressured into purchasing a tanning package as well as a tanning lotion, face tanning lotion, moisturizer, and other tanning extras. I stated when I walked in that I was just trying to find a new place to tan and I didn't intend on making any purchases that day until I determined that this salon was the right fit. read more

Great manager named Destini. She always helps me with any questions about tanning as well as she is always on top of the special freebies they throw my way for being a monthly member. I just tried the double dip today (tan in the bed first then spray tan afterwards)! She walked me through the whole thing. Since their emails always go to my spam folder I don't normally see them but the buy 1 lotion get the 2nd half off email had expired by the time I saw it they still honored it as well as an upgrade. Amazing company will continue to stay on the automatic monthly no contract option! :) PS the double dip looks awesome! read more
