While I had a membership, this place was perfectly fine. Got what I wanted out of it. However, I cancelled my membership in December of 2022 due to lack of use. Fast forward to September 2023 I started seeing charges for 4 consecutive months from TanMax on my statement. I went into the facility and made the girl at the front desk aware of this and she was very nice and apologetic. She called her manager, Brittany, who told her to take my name she would refund the charges the next morning. She also stated that there was a billing glitch which had created these charges (not sure why my info is still on file after cancelling but ok..) 3 weeks later I still had not seen any refund so I returned to the facility where the same girl sat at the desk and I told her I had spoken to her 3 weeks prior about charges that I hadn't made from TanMax. She again apologized and said she remembered and once again called the manager, Brittany. Brittany again took my name and also my number this time. I was told she would call that night or the following morning. 3 days later I hadn't heard from literally anyone. I filed fraud charges with my bank instead. Brittany if you're reading this, you're about as useful as sandals while walking in a snowstorm. Patrons beware and former members check your credit card statements! read more

During these COVID-19 times it seems to me to have the staff paying more attention to the back of the house than chatting it up at the front desk. The restroom was dirty and when I leave the booth it would make me feel better to have one of the team members there to clean the stall and floor immediately. I have been trying to cancel my membership since November 2021. I talked to three different people that work there and asked that my membership be canceled. However, I am still paying each month for a membership I do not use. I was even told a supervisor would call me, but I have never received a call. This place has the poorest customer service . This place is horrible. They tried to make me look aggressive for canceling my membership and being upset because the new girl couldn't find my membership then had her boyfriend in the front spray so I had to go to the back. Must be the daughter of the owner cause I told them I wouldn't stand for it and I I have manager call me. I guess that's over aggressive. Then trying to threaten me with legal stuff lol. I have lawyers also. This place is garbage you can't call in cause they get so many complaints they don't want to deal with it I assume. Manager never called me. Celebrity tan so much better and only a couple dollars more. No waiting really ever and you can call if you think you left something or have an issue. Professionalism which tan max doesn't have and the spray booths seem to spray you even better just try both once and you decide. I have to drive a little more but it's worth it not to deal with immature managers who don't know how to run a business and don't really like their job I'm assuming. I have had a really good experience here. I love the stand up beds and I am always greeted by a sweet young gal. They are always more than helpful and I have never had a billing issue. I usually tan a couple months on and a couple months off. I have never had an issue stopping my payment and then starting back up. They were very sweet to my girls who went there for there first spray tan and took the time to explain it very well. I do wish you could get a little discount if you bring in a daughter for a here and there spray tan and you pay for the top tan package monthly. Tanmax is great for the budget tanner. If you are low on cash and need some UV rays, this is the place. They have super low rates and always have space available. No waiting and zero upsale harrassment. They have only standups. I've used tanning salons in the pre-summer time for probably 15 years, and this is the only place I have left everytime smelling like burnt hair. I'm not sure if it's because they use cheaply intense bulbs, but I experienced this continuously (and I am not a hairy person LOL - I do have fine baby hairs - but granted, I have never experienced this at any other salon). The stalls are ok - not filthy and not amazingly clean either, the floors and mirrors could use a nice cleaning...stalls are just a super tight space that is dark and have a very small face mirror only. Hook on door to hang items, which is helpful considering the tiny space. There is a small stool in the stall as well. The first few times I used these standups I thought I was going to burn my skin off so I vacated before the max amount of time. I left feeling fearful of the intense heat (again, I am experienced, so this was bizarre) - only to not get any result. Intensely scary heat and zero color result. Huh. After a few tries I started to get some color, but the tanning is uneven. It seems the parts of my body that stick out closer to the bulbs (my calfs and thighs) got the most tan. Again...hmmm. I weigh 105lbs so this was odd. Staff is quick to get you in and out, which is cool, except their speediness sides on an almost rude aspect. The owner (maybe shes just a manager) is the worst with her valley girl talk, ignoring customers and talking crap about people in front of customers. Interesting experience for sure, but I won't be back. read more

I'm here for the summer and have been dying without my twice weakly spray tans back at home. I found that they offered a $5 first time spray tan and were the closest salon to offer versa (instead of the awful mystic) so I decided to try it. The staff was very friendly and helpful as they walked me through the colors the offer. Back at home I usually do 2 passes of the Versa with a bronze 4 and bronze 2. The girl explained to me that they don't have that kind of solution and recommended the Venetian formula for $5 more. I tried this one and was very happy. While I didn't get as dark as I expected, it still looked wonderful and went on very evenly. The room was clean and they even asked if I needed a hair tie. I would definitely return! read more

Love this place! Staff is super friendly and helpful, and they have new client deals for a spray as little as 5 dollars and a uv tan for a dollar! The spray machine has a voice talking you through everything making it super easy to follow, and it comes on even and natural. Cheap and quick tans. I use the spray primarily and avoid the UV lights. They have the Mystic spray tan system and the Norvell (which I think is much better). The girls who work the front are pretty ditsy and always on their phone or watching TV when I walk in though. Usually they have a friend hanging out in the lobby talking to them and it's awkward when they won't stop gossiping to said friend to address the actual customers who come in. Their lack of professionalism can be frustrating and add to the amount of time a visit takes, so beware if you come late at night. They're constantly talking about their friend and how crazy it is that she's dating that guy, and what she posted on Instagram, can you believe it!? If you want unlimited spray tans, it comes out to $44ish a month. read more

Let's be honest, even though we live in the Valley of the Sun - some of us are busybodies and don't have time to plank outdoors for hours at a time in pursuit of a bronze bod. So we cheat a little. Oh, and if I tried to avoid tan lines while laying out in my backyard my neighbors might have a few choice words to share. Tanmax is a no frills, get in & get out kind of place and that's exactly what I need. They have an unlimited tanning membership with zero down and no cancellation fee, all for $10.99/month. All "beds" are the stand-up type. They have music and big fans to cool you off. Max time is 8 minutes but I've only worked myself up to a 6 minute routine personally, in pursuit of a great base-tan before Hawaii in 1 week. They offer eye-ware and lotion but I don't partake in those. I supply my own lube and I trust my god-gifted eye lids. read more

I was in last weekend and Lexi was helping me I accidentally overpaid by quite a bit, immediately Lexi noticed and handed me the money that I overpaid, then when I was finished tanning she handed me more money back because she and I both calculated incorrectly. I'd like to think that most people would do the same but unfortunately, that is not always the case. I went here for a pre vacation spray tan. I was hoping to find a tanning place that would become my regular spot, but this spot is definitely not it!!! WORST SPRAY TAN EVER! I will say the girl was very nice who helped me. Told me which tan she recommended (the more expensive one), gave me directions, etc. I followed her directions, didn't work out, didn't shower until the next day (over 16 hours later). It doesn't even look like I got a spray tan. I have two areas that look tan, looks ridiculous. I have had several spray tans before and this is by far the WORST! What a disappointment! Not to mention I know have to tan spots randomly on my body for my vacation. Will not be going back and will not recommend!!!! read more

Staff is friendly but not personable but who cares I'm going here for a tan not to make friends. So far after tanning a week I'm Already seeing results . The equipment seems to be taken care of properly. I have noticed the bars you hold on to have a finger prints and lotion on them sometimes ... only reason why I didn't give 5 stars makes me a little Leary if they are being sanitized properly after each customer. I just want to say I love tanmax. It's affordable and almost all of the girls are so sweet, especially Alyssa, Sarah and Brittani.I love them and they always make sure their customers leave happy. Lexi, on the other hand is extremely rude every time I go in there and has a very fake personality which she's made clear. I thought I'd give her a few chances but after today, I won't be going back there while she is working. She's rude & not personable. I was really not happy with this place at all. If you're a first timer, I would suggest going somewhere else. I tried calling twice and no one answered both times. I came in for my first spray tan ever before my birthday trip. Which I politely told the front desk person I needed a little training. She took me to this room, which had horribly sticky floors, told me to position my hands a certain way & that I needed to put lotion on my palms and walked out. I had no idea which way to start because the foot markings say "place your back heel here" on both sides. The girl said "the machine will tell you what to do" but it gives you like 3 seconds to act or it's too late. It shot spray tanner in my face so hard in the beginning I choked on it. Just a horrible experience all around. My legs & body look good but my arms & hands are so discolored. I really feel like an employee should help someone know what to expect, especially if it's their very first time. Just glad I have a few days to shower this off before I leave. read more
