No mention of 7% employee fee or 3% credit card fee

Heard a lot about Troy's BBQ as the best around and on a 7pm Friday night disappointed. When we arrived five people waiting and just one sat down. Reason was the service was very slow. When our order taken lady was very polite and we sat outside waiting and waiting for our brisket plates and fries. 30 minutes later (unheard of in bbq place where all the food should be cooked hours before and no rush of customers) we had our food and they apologized that " waiting for fries". After eating our food still no sign of fries. Brisket was soft and warm and slaw ok. Really nothing to write home about and no atmosphere at all. Also a bit put off by the 10% fees for employees and credit card. I saw no signs noticing of this nor incentive for tips so I hope some of this charges go to higher wages for stressed employees

My bill included a 7.5% Fair Wage Service Fee and a 3% Credit Card Surcharge. I was not told about either of these before paying.

First off I want to say that Troy's has great BBQ. Their ribs are fantastic and we have frequently ordered from them for parties. Troy's is my goto BBQ place in Boynton. That being said I feel compelled to give them a one-star review because they did something which I really dislike. They included two charges on my takeout order without notifying me. The first is that they included a 7.5% "FAIR WAGE SERVICE FEE." I did not see anything posted at Troy's about it nor did anyone mention it to me before I paid. I only saw it when I arrived home and looked at the bill. In my opinion this borders on fraud. The receipt (see the picture) says at the bottom that "Service charge helps support fair wages for our kitchen & service staff. Thank you for dining with us." If the restaurant wants to pay its employees more, then they should raise the price of their menu items. Don't hide it on the bill. Of course that is what they want because they don't want people to see their food prices go up. The second charge was a 3% Credit Card Surcharge. Again, I did not see anything posted about that. At least let me know and give me the option of paying cash. I know some restaurants do this, but at least make sure the customer knows. So overall, I paid 10.5% more than I had anticipated. On an almost $160 food bill, that is about $16 extra. It's a shame because I really liked Troy's. However, because of their hidden charges which I feel are very deceitful, it will be a long time before I return.

My Love always says "Rib tips and fries for the win!" And it doesn't get better in Boynton than Troy's! Also there's a twisted lemonade on their drink menu (no alcohol) and not only is the drink GORGEOUS , but it was delicious! Their yams are another of my particular favorite! The drive through service is always friendly and fast!

Troy's Barbecue in Boynton Beach offers a cozy, homey atmosphere that makes you feel right at home. We wasn't sure about what we wanted to eat after our hair appointment and stumbled across this place by passing by. I ordered the brisket with mac & cheese and collard greens, which came with an unexpected side of rice. The portions were generous, justifying the slightly higher prices. My sister chose the 10 wings with fries, opting for buffalo sauce on the side, while I enjoyed spicy and honey barbecue sauces with my brisket. The brisket was perfectly cooked--tender and flavorful--and the macaroni and cheese was a standout, creamy and rich. However, the collard greens were a bit over-seasoned, with salt, though it still had a nice flavor. The cornbread was a delightful addition, warm and slightly sweet. They accept Apple Pay/credit cards and ofc course cash. Overall, I'd rate Troy's a solid 10 out of 10 and would definitely return for more of their delicious barbecue!

BBQ!!! ***drools*** I can't tell you how long it's been since I've had BBQ, but sure why not pick the hottest day of summer to check it off the list. I remember this place when it was just a small neighborhood spot, in a shack with a cooker outside, that simply smelled to-die-for. They changed to a store front a long time ago, hopefully it gets them the exposure they most definitely deserve! Came here with my boss and was ready to absolutely FEAST. Troys didn't let us down! I got the pulled pork sandwich with a sweet and hot sauce that topped it. The sandwich only came with 1 side, got the collard greens, but the longer I stood in front of the glass while the gentleman fixed my sandwich the lingering smell of candies yams hit my nostrils, I HAD to add it on. My boss got the Brisket dinner. We were drooling waiting for our food! Once we sat down it only took us but a few minutes to completely annihilate our food!! We were both pleasantly fat and stuffed sitting there looking at the chaos we made of our plates. Honestly some of the best BBQ I've had. The staff here is so friendly and courteous. I can't wait to come back and try the ribs....*loosens belt on pants*.....it's worth the added weight lol

They have a really nice outdoor seating area, complete with heaters when needed. We chose to dine inside. The vibe inside the restaurant was kind of a boho rustic feel, and I really liked it. Soft lighting and music really set the tone. We were immediately greeted by our server, Gustavo, and given our menus. We don't drink, but they had a nice selection of drinks, cocktails and spirits. We decided to start with the sweet and sour cauliflower. It was absolutely delicious! Cauliflower battered and fried and tossed in a sweet and sour sauce. For our entree we shared the 44oz Creekstone ribeye. It was served with charred broccolini and and a fried airy potato side dish that was out of this world! The steak came sliced and off the bone, so it was perfect for sharing. It was served with 3 toppings; a horseradish sauce, a balsamic glaze, and delicious mixture of sliced peppers. Our steak was cooked perfectly, and seasoned well. We did not have dessert there, as we had a birthday cake at home. And I feel remiss that I didn't even look to see what they had. Overall, it was the perfect place to have a romantic, celebratory dinner! Thanks Driftwood. *Just a Note ~ I found it odd they added a 20% tip on a 2 top table, and I was glad I noticed it on the bill before we double tipped.

The drinks are creative and made well. - The sweet and sour cauliflower, the sliders, the chicken and dumplings. - Servers are always knowledgeable and attentive - indoor and outdoor seating with fans on a warm day. Upscale vibe with dim lighting. - plenty of parking A few I didn't.. - The fish dip was just ok - the fried part of the southern fried chicken while juicy on the inside, lacked flavor - the up charge for almond vanilla milk in the espresso martini without being told up front of the added cost -the steak tartare happy hour portion is 1 bite-sized piece. Just offer the normal sized portion for a reduced happy hour price as opposed to 1/4th the portion for 1/3rd the price. Overall I would say every experience is good but not great. I would recommend giving this restaurant a try and seeing if you agree with my review.

Don't sleep on Boynton Beach - cocktail bar vibe, hiding in plain site in a strip mall... this gem is chef inspired and simply amazing. We tried the wood fired asparagus served on toast with a gooey egg and then the pork belly grilled baby bok choy and both had me in the happy chair dance. Although steak definitely makes sense with a wood fire concept, instead we tried the lamb rack served with a mint sauce combo that has you cleaning the plate and local pompano served curry lite with wild mushroom (delish)! If you are a foodie make your way here. This was a spot where one (or is it just me) considers maybe we order everything to try? And we left the fun for another time. I have my eye on their spiced lamb bolognese and another amazing cocktail. The cocktails are mostly milk fat clarified which adds yet another fun twist to a new fav spot! Make a reservation and if you are in the area during the day it is a solid cafe. This is how I found it to begin with! Nom nom nom - enjoy

It's like sitting next to a warming fire. This time we tried the grilled asparagus, the grilled baby bok choy with pork belly and gorgonzola (our favorite), the luncheonette burger with crispy fries, the double cut pork chop with grilled cabbage and pickled mustard seed, and the waygu lamb (I know, a lot of food!). Everything was fantastic but the burger initially came out a bit undercooked (we ordered it medium) so they cooked it a bit more and quickly brought it back. I thought the lamb wagyu was a bit light on the meat, the pork chop was amble and laid out nicely on the plate. We also tried the watermelon tequila drink (very refreshing and not too sweet), an old fashioned, and they have a good list of wines. We love the big cube in cocktails. I don't know how they got them to be so clear. The bar tender was great and the cooks were working very hard. The owner always comes by to say hello and chat. Second Rodeo varies the menu.

When I circled back looking at it yesterday morn we decided to pop up and check it out. It's a valet only place, free with tip. After a quick exchange with a nice guy taking the keys we walked into the welcoming entry. We saw the nice bar but I thought I saw a picture of a outside bar online. The hostess confirmed it, and pointed us to the outside spot. We lucked out with a couple spots right on the water. It was a warm day but the spots at the bar were covered thank goodness. We got lunch, which was pretty good. My gals fish and chips felt a little undercooked to me. But my Seafood au gratin was exquisite. We both agreed it was top notch. The drinks were darn good, with the standout being the Key Lime pie martini. It was a little pricey, but it felt darn near worth it with the good vibes we had. We will be ack son I think, to see if we can have an even better time.

The roaring fire added ambience; it doesn't happen often in south Florida but on this "frigid" night the fire was really needed. We started at the bar with a few drinks including the Dr. No, and then moved to our table, we didn't feel rushed at all, it was Saturday night, 8:30 pm and the restaurant was quite full. I always get the wedge salad and I especially like NM's version with avocado and a thick, creamy blue cheese dressing (but not overpowering everything else). Also, their empanadas are renown and we love their chimichurri sauce. I highly recommend them. We also tried the daily pasta which was good. For mains, we really went for it with the 16 oz Ribeye, quite a large serving that we didn't finish and took home with us (see picture). The steak was pretty straight up - just a well-cooked delicious piece of meat. I had heard people rave about the veal chop so I decided to try it and was happy I did; also a rather large piece of meat (bone-in) with melted cheese and a light sauce - probably one of the best veal chops I've had (which we also took home with us). Nicholson Muir does great sides - we got the creamed spinach which was not overly creamy and the truffle fries, thin-style with a nice crunch. For dessert, the bread pudding (with a birthday candle) was very good - the ice cream portion was gone in split seconds. Excellent service with our main server and other servers attending to us making sure everything was great and delicious.
