I love Troy's in person. Great food, great service, fantastic ambiance. However we had a DoorDash coupon and ordered that way. NEVER AGAIN. Ordered two Gyros, in the comments we asked for sides of both the red and green hot sauces, as they were offered nowhere else in Door Dash. We got no sauces. The sauces are legendary.... I've even bought large sides of their sauces in restaurant. So disappointing! I could only imagine what would happen if we had a food allergy. Also ordered Garlic fries, because they were so good last time we ate in restaurant. They are usually crisp on the outside and fluffy on the inside. Thats not what you get when you order delivery. They were barely cooked through. Not close to crispy, or fluffy. I'll be back to Troy, but only ever in person. The Door Dash option sucks. You can't even order DoorDash for pickup, only delivery. We would have gladly picked up, and made sure we at least had the sauces. Lesson learned. I don't know if they were just having an off night, or they just don't care about the Door Dash orders, but I won't order through DoorDash again from here. I'm glad to see Troy Greek Cuisine continuing to thrive during the Covid-19 pandemic. Prior to Contra Costa County allowing patio dining, anytime I ordered take out from Troy, their counter would be lined with ready to go pick up orders! Ordered lunch again today for pickup, only a 10 minute away pick up time. Love how fast the food is ready when you only have an hour lunch break to scarf down some food. The two items I always order have continued to be amazing. Today more so due to the presentation. Sometimes the wraps are rolled sloppy, but today! Oh boy today was a work of art! Whichever chef was working today cared about making sure it not only tasted great by getting each layer of ingredients in every bite but that it looked good too! Chicken souvlaki tends to need extra tzatziki but that's easily rectified by asking for more. The gyro is just bomb. If you like extra heat, get the red sauce. So good, it's my favorite. If you like really hot, get the green sauce. The only negative feedback from today's visit was the employees continued to talk to each other non stop aside from to tell me my total. A little focused attention on the customer and putting aside their gossiping will continue to bring back repeat customers. read more

Located in downtown Martinez so parking can be a little limited. Very nice outdoor seating set up, a few tables inside and some bar seating. Service was very friendly and relatively quick. Came in on a Saturday afternoon and was seated right away. We got Avgolemono soup - soup was not hot when it got it me. It was warm/boarder-line room temp. Not much chicken, needed more lemon flavor - 1/5 Greek salad - lettuce was crisp but tomatoes/cucumbers were not. I was not a fan of the feta they used and it didn't really taste like feta (preference would've been crumbles or block crumbles for a stronger feta taste). Dressing was ok but not what i expect in a Greek salad - it didn't seem like an olive oil based dressing. 2/5 Gyro wrap - the wrap itself was good, the gyro meat was thickly sliced vs thin shreds. Tzatziki was good. 3/5 Garlic fries - the fries are a little thicker than McDonald's or in and out and were really crispy. This made the fries themselves super good. Who would've thought Martinez would be place where I'd find a nom-worthy hidden gem? After hitting up this joint for lunch with a friend, I became a believer. If you love garlic like I do, the garlic fries here will blow your mind. I love how each piece of the fries is thick and crunchy on the outside as if the slices were dipped in batter prior to frying to perfection. It definitely was a remarkable appetizer to whet my appetite and I would order it again the next time I go there. As for the main course, the mixed gyro plate was pretty decent. I liked the meat slices just fine but I was expecting the overall dish to be more of a combination plate with various kinds of meat on it. The ambience here is casual yet intimate. One can choose an outdoor seating option for fresh air or inside the restaurant if you'd rather not have passerby's bottlenecking on what's playing out on your plate. So I used to be a fairly picky eater as a kid and up until this point, I don't think I'd ever tried Greek food, but dude. When I tell you this is one of my FAVORITE things ever in the whole world to eat now, trust. My server was a sweetheart, the outside dining area where my family and I sat was super nice and dog friendly too :) They even turned the ceiling heater on for us. It's all Greek to me! TROY Greek Cuisine is a prominent restaurant located in downtown Martinez. I was trying to be healthy and I ordered the Athenian Greek salad. The salad was $14 but was fully loaded with 6-8 hunky pieces of chicken breast, whole walnuts, feta, apples and romaine lettuce. I was pleasantly surprised that the salad was that good. It was a very hardy salad that kept me full until dinner time. Usually with most salads, I get hungry in 2 hours. Sorry I would have taken photos but it was a work lunch. Service was good but I did notice that my boss had asked to omit the onions in her salad but they were still on her plate. I would recommend if you have dietary restrictions to make sure to emphasize that you need x, y, z taken out with your server. I remember when Troy had a location of off College Ave in Berkeley. I used to go there religiously for work lunches and after work dinners. When they shut that location down, I was so heartbroken. When I found out that they were opening a location in Martinez a while ago, I got SO excited. It took me a looong time to finally get here, but I did. Damn, damn, daaaamn is this place good! I love everything about this Troy Greek location. I stopped by for dinner one evening and was completely blown away by my experience. First off, how stinkin' cute is this place? That patio, that bar, the lighting. Loved it ALL. I walked in and was sat immediately. Looked at the menu and decided to get the gyros platter. They had a bottle of hot sauce on the table that I opened and shook up. I guess I must have shook the bottle too hard because next thing you know, my entire plate was full of hot sauce. I was so embarrassed! But, what did they do? My server immediately took my plate, cleaned my table, and then told me that another one would be on the way. It all happened so quickly and I don't even think anyone noticed because they were so quick to get it off of the table. Now that's customer service for you. A short while later, a brand spanking new gyros plate arrived at my table. Decided to skip the hot sauce this time around, and I'm so glad that I did because it turns out that I didn't even need it. The meat on that gyros plate was glistening for the GAWDS. I cut into the meat it was so tender to the touch. It literally severed with no effort. It was so juicy. Practically melting in my mouth. It tasted absolutely amazing! The char on both the meats and veggies were perfecto. The salad was incredibly fresh and I tasted like they had just taken the pita bread out of the oven. Mmm! It was so warm and fluffy. Shayla was in Heaven, y'all! I probably should have gotten a cocktail, but I just stick with water. They have a full service bar equipped with TV's for your sports viewing pleasure. I'm sure this is the place to be during game nights. The service from everyone was amazing! What a wonderful group of people that they have working there. Just wow. My tummy was so damn happy that night. Martinez is always showing out these days, and Troy Greek Cuisine definitely shines. It was ok food but I think I got spoiled after trying similar in Turkey so many times. Just not the same here (U.S.) sorry. This Troy location is a little pretentious vs. casual compared to the one I used to go to in Alameda, too, so I felt really uncomfortable going in there to pick up food in basically sweats lol. You have to walk all the way in to the bar area in the middle of the diners and kind of just stand there and wait so I wouldn't do that again. I was in Martinez recently and stopped here for lunch. I sat at the bar and had a nice lunch. The bartender was helpful and quick. I order the Chicken Souvlaki Wrap: Grilled Chicken, Tzatziki, lettuce , tomatoes, grilled onions. This was really good. Its a large portion. Lots of good toppings. Love the tzatziki. First time here and also Martinez downtown for a family dinner. Finding a parking spot was a bit difficult even tho it was Wednesday night. The atmosphere was good and right by the time you walked in, you instantly smell all the food from the kitchen, which made us really hungry. I ordered the gyros platter since I wanted less carb. I've been getting take-out from this place since I moved to Martinez a few years ago. Dined in a few times too. My boyfriend really loves the beef Gyro. I usually get the chicken shawarma wrap. He loves the beef / lamb gyro because the meat is really tender. The chicken is good but can be a bit dry since it's in larger chunks (and this isn't a souvlaki style wrap) so not the best I've ever had (I like Nick the Greek because they slice the chicken smaller so it's similar to the gyro meat). The Avgolemono soup is delicious though! It's my favorite. Just the right amount of lemon flavor. The garlic fries are also yummy with tons of fresh garlic and Parmesan. I'll usually order from here a few times a month when I'm craving Greek gyros and it always satisfies. Prices are great and portions are big. read more

We could sit were we want, we sat at the bar. I had always wanted to try ouzo so I ordered a one. Has a black licorice smell and flavor.... I liked it but it is sipping drink for me. They have a great selection of local beers, IPAs, pilsner and even a stout (real craft stout not Guinness). My companion and I each ordered a gyro....they were huge but delicious. The serving of moussaka was a greasy mass that lacked much flavor and appeared to be several days old and perhaps heated in a microwave. More than half the plate was filled with rice. Couldn't believe my luck when I discovered TROY, since I never expected to find excellent Greek food in Martinez of all places (don't @ me). The food is always fresh, staff is always friendly and no matter how busy they are (which is every time I've been there), I've never had to wait long for a seat. I've only been there for lunch, and never stray from a shawarma (chicken or gyro or falafel, depending on my mood), with a side of Greek fries (garlic + cheese, enough said). But every time the server brings out other people's orders I'm always gawking at how good it looks, so I'd venture to say that everything there is probably good. Pro tip: if you like heat, they have two spicy sauces made in house, one red, one green, and they are so damn good! I alternate them on bites of my shawarma but I'd put them on anything. First lunch during my visit to the east Bay Area. They opened the patio and turned on the heaters for my friend and me which we deeply appreciated. Service was quick and friendly but the restaurant was unwilling to make any accommodations to special requests. We started with the Saganaki which was quite delicious, especially the capers, which were full flavor. I had a lamb Japan's dish, and my friend had the salmon plate. She requested the soluvlaki wrap with the salmon, but they were unwilling to make the accommodation stating that if they did it for one person, they have to do it for everyone. This was unfortunate because we felt that if everyone wanted it why not put it on the menu? I do recommend this restaurant, particularly for lunch. My belly was full and overall it was a great place to enjoy an afternoon. I would highly recommend that the restaurant take recommendations from customers and potentially think about putting new things on the menu when something is ordered more than once, as in the case of my friends dish. I wanted something light and refreshing for lunch so I thought about Greek food. I came across Troy Greek Cuisine which was super close to me. I found out that they have multiple locations and one is close to my work! That's definitely a plus and I'm adding that to my lunch list for work. This would be a great place to take my coworkers. The food was ready within 10-15 minutes. It was such an easy order and pick up. The lady that was on the phone was super nice and friendly. In my opinion the calamari was a little chew for my taste but my mom liked it. The marinara sauce that they offer with the fried calamari was amazing! They must have their own special marinara sauce. I ordered the falafel for my mom and sister because they love them. I tried them and wasn't a fan but I need to try them again with the sauce that was provided. I ordered the chicken shawarma wrap (small size) and it was the perfect amount for me. I wonder how much food comes with the large size?? I would still go with the small size. My mom got the falafel wrap (small size) and she thought it was too much but she ate all of it haha both wraps were delicious. I would go back again! The best Greek food in the bay served with a smile! They have a lot of vegan options and are happy to accommodate. I love the Falafels. They are flavorful, moist, and not too greasy. The garlic fries are so incredibly yummy. The lentil soup is also a favorite of mine. For starters the hummus is very creamy and flavorful. It includes the pita bread which is fluffy and yummy. Love the dark atmosphere when you enter the dining area, there are a few tables as you enter the shady patio but we sat inside. We had the Mediterranean platter and garlic fries. The fries were nice and crispy, the garlic was not overpowering, but it sneaks up on you. One basket of fries was more than enough for two people, we took some home. The platter had some perfectly cooked chicken, a cucumber salad, some hummus, yellow rice , and a couple pita triangles. Once again, plenty of food for two and the flavors were great. Pro tip: ask for hot sauce, the green was nice and spicy with a jalapeño and Serrano base, the red was slightly sweet but also very tasty. The service was quick and friendly, my only complaint (and it's a little one) is that she didn't come check on us once until we were done, I would've had another beer and a refill on the water.
