And for the quality of food you get, I think this place is reasonably priced. The restaurant is not far from Old Street station and has a pub feel, but slightly more refined. The staff was really friendly, attentive and knowledgeable on the menu. I highly recommend a reservation though as even when we came here on a Monday night, it was busy. I don't think you can go wrong with almost anything on the menu. Everything we had was delicious, and you can tell the chef's really know how and understand how to cook and flavor meat to perfection. The most surprising item though, is the White Chocolate Cheesecake. It is served out of a dish, tiramisu style, and is one of the best desserts I have had in a while. It was not too rich but so flavorful. So when you come here, make sure to save room for dessert!

This place was amazing probably the most incredible Sunday lunch I've ever seen. Meat piled high with Yorkshire pudding and vegetables. It's eye popping and stunning what arrives at your table. I feel like all my friends who've been to London have come back talking about this place, and I'm happy to join their ranks. Dishoom was also one of a handful of dining options recommended by my hotel concierge for a party of 11, including kids. Booking was easy, via SevenRooms, no phone calls or emails necessary. It's a large restaurant, and part of a popular chain--I guess they have things figured out. The space was great, open and casual, exposed ceilings and eclectic decor. Lots of fans, which my three-year-old appreciated. Service was friendly and attentive. I started my lunch with a drink, a refreshing green India Gimlet, gin and Rose's lime with celery bitters and fresh dill. I also tried and liked a sip of the New Permit Room Old-Fashioned, a slightly sweet cocktail with coconut-washed bourbon, Pedo Ximénez sherry, and Medjool date liqueur. There was only one menu available for a party of our size, a pre-set family-style group feast for eight adults, to which we added a pre-ordered platter of lamb chops. I loved the variety of dishes that came with this meal, and every one of them was ridiculously delicious. (There was less available for the three small American children, but they loaded up on hotel breakfast and snacked on naan and colorful puffed crackers.) The first round brought trays loaded with keema pau, okra fries, and bhel, along with lime, cilantro, and sauces for serving. The keema pau was incredible, probably my favorite dish of our lunch, if in part because it was 100% new to me. It was a spicy, aromatic blend of minced lamb and peas with dill and lindi pepper, served with toasted, buttered buns to make little sliders. So much flavor, it almost explained, by itself, why the British could never leave India alone. The okra fries were warm and crispy, and I loved the bhel, a crunchy snack of puffed rice, peanuts, and Bombay Mix tossed with pomegranate, tomato, onion, lime, tamarind, and mint. The main course was another giant spread: chicken ruby, house black daal, awadhi jackfruit biryani, and chilled broccoli salad, plus our charred lamb chops, with sides of roti, naan, and raita. The chicken ruby was the highlight here, a fragrant, comforting curry with tender chicken in a buttery makhani sauce. The house black daal is a Dishoom signature, and it was lovely, cooked for over 24 hours. The biryani was fluffy and nice, studded with jackfruit, barberries, and sultanas. The broccoli salad was a fresh hit of green, enhanced with pistachio, mint, red chillies, pumpkin and sunflower seeds, dates, and lime. The lamb chops made for a hearty entrée with a lot of flavor, the lamb marinated, grilled, and finished with Kashmiri chilli sauce. The thin, griddled roomali roti and the fresh-baked naan were both great accompaniments, as was the minty, cucumbery raita. For dessert, we had a choice of kulfi, creamy ice pops available in mango, pistachio, or malai, the original flavor touched with caramel. All three were superb, so cold and milk, easy to throw down the hatch. This was, it turned out, an enormous feast, but everything was so delicious and well balanced that I didn't notice how much I was eating until I got up. I was still full several hours later, when we went to dinner. If you want to eat Indian food in London, you should definitely find your nearest Dishoom. It's a wonderful restaurant, with top-notch food and no hassle. I certainly intend to go again.

First, I started with the mango lassi which was so fresh and naturally sweet. I loved the fennel seeds on top for added flavor. Such a great start to the meal. My favorites of the night were the chicken ruby (a must order and crowd pleaser), lamb biryani, and black daal. The chilli chicken was also a super flavorful app to share and the garlic naan was great as well. Everything is nicely flavored and I appreciate how patient and understanding the staff were with the food allergies and restrictions our group had. Definitely a must in London!

I never had an empty glass. Service was so incredibly attentive without ever feeling overbearing. They brought out starters promptly. Edamame was really great. Loved the shishito peppers as well. I didn't even touch the miso soup lol. Saving my appetite for the main event! The sushi buffet was truly excellent. The sashimi was impeccable quality. One very minor complaint is that the plates were very small (not a huge deal, I just felt bad for the staff for having to clear plates often as I could only fit like four pieces of sushi on one, lol). I thought the range of food was great. The salads were really nice as well. There was a very simply dressed spinach salad with a subtle truffle flavour that I loved. The choice of mains is really just a bonus. I opted for the black cod (of course) which (of course) was fantastic. Honestly the buffet was so good I would have been just as happy without it but who can complain! Minor complaint is that the dessert selection was just okay. Honestly given how phenomenal everything else was I was a bit surprised they didn't elevate the desserts as much. I had some decent churros with a truly unbelievable caramel sauce and tried a brownie that I didn't love. I didn't come for the desserts and it still hit the spot, but they could show them some love! Overall well worth the price. Will return.

The food all came out quite quick before I could tell them to stop. I was able to eat the first few things (about 60GBP of value of food). The restaurant admitted this was a training fail on their part (I have the back and forth emails) but still charged me for a full Omakase price even though I never had an Omakase experience! It's a real shame as Nobu has been one of my favorite restaurants. To charge the customer for their own self admitted complete failure is a DISGRACE!!

I've been looking forward to visiting Duck & Waffle for quite some time. The views are incredible,…read morethe space itself is striking, and on paper it promises that perfect London mix of skyline, late-night energy, and elevated comfort food. Unfortunately, our experience was soured before it even had a chance to begin. My girlfriend and I walked in excited, completely amicable, simply hoping to head upstairs for a bite and drinks. We were greeted by the doorman with an immediate, dismissive "Are you good?" -- not in a welcoming or helpful tone, but in a way that felt skeptical and unnecessarily confrontational. There was no warmth, no "welcome in," no attempt at hospitality. It immediately set an uncomfortable tone. He then proceeded to call upstairs as though he were doing us some sort of favor just by allowing us to go up. The entire interaction felt transactional and judgmental rather than gracious. First impressions matter, especially at a place that positions itself as a premium dining destination. Hospitality begins at the door, not at the table. When we finally made it upstairs, the room was filled with visibly drunk, rowdy groups -- which only made the earlier attitude feel even more misplaced. If that environment is acceptable (and profitable), then two polite guests looking for drinks and food shouldn't be met with suspicion at the entrance. By that point, the damage was done. The initial interaction had already rubbed us the wrong way, and the energy upstairs didn't help. We ultimately decided to leave before even sitting at our table. That's how strongly the first impression impacted us. It's difficult to justify staying somewhere when you don't feel genuinely welcomed from the outset. Duck & Waffle has the potential to be memorable for all the right reasons. But someone representing the brand at the very front needs to understand that hospitality isn't optional -- it's foundational. A simple, respectful welcome would have changed everything. I hope management takes this seriously, because no guest should feel judged or dismissed before they even step inside.

Our host lead us downstairs to a comfortable booth. I also sampled some of my pal's calamari which was very tasty. For dessert, we both enjoyed the orange tart with crème fraîche, pistachios and cinnamon saffron syrup. I don't think I've received nicer service anywhere in London and the restaurant's soundtrack totally rocks. I'd make this my local if I lived in London!
