It is popular for its winding roads, numerous cul-de-sacs, and water front views. There are 1,000 single family homes built between 1985 and 1995 and sixty five percent of the homes have a lake view. It is very family friendly community. . Jacaranda Lakes Park amenities include 2 shaded playgrounds, one tennis court, a half basketball court, a community pickleball court, picnic table, open play space, and restroom facilities which are open during daylight hours. All of the large old shade trees add to the natural beauty of this picturesque park. There is even a small hill that kids were enjoying riding their bikes down. My favorite part of the park is the half mile jogging course with exercise stations. The path winds around the back of the park between the canals. It's a great place to exercise and bird watch. In addition to the ducks and wading birds near the water the open grassy area had burrowing owls. I only saw one little guy peeking out of his burrow but a lady exercising told me that she sees them out every morning. Burrowing owls are considered endangered, threatened or of special concern in nine U.S. states. Unlike other owls, they are not strictly nocturnal and are active during the day. They make their nests in underground burrows, which are dug out by ground squirrels and they prefer open grasslands. They are pretty timid and will usually pop back into their burrows if you approach. It was so cool to catch site of one. He definitely picked a home with a beautiful view.

This park has many great features and has recently been renovated by the City Of Plantation and our HOA. The park has a private parking lot with 1 handicapped space. There is a covered pavillion with a men and women bathroom which is normally open from sunrise to sunset. There is a single tennis court and a shared Pickleball/Basketball court. There are benches for spectators and a fence which is locked overnight. The kids playground is pretty big and serves many ages. There is plenty of open grassy spaces with some hills for kids to run up and down and a large flat space to play a pick up game of soccer or football. There is a gravel path which winds behind some houses along the lake. The path has some exercise benches and apparatuses for an outdoor workout. This park is very pretty because there are so many trees to sit under and enjoy the fresh air.

Cresthaven used to be an elderly community but in the mid nineties young families began buying in the neighborhood because the prices were good for entry level home buyers. In 2000 Cresthaven a formerly an unincorporated community of about 3,000 homes and retail and industrial properties was incorporated into Pompano Beach. Cresthaven Park was created out of a vacant lot on the corner of Northeast 27th Court and Northeast 13th Avenue. The land was an old sewage pumping station owned by the county. Former President of the Cresthaven Civic Association, Virginia Eckberg and a few parents toured the lot with Broward County Commissioner Sylvia Poitier. With Poitiers help the lot was turned into Cresthaven Park in 1990 giving the children in the community a safe place to play. By giving families a place to take their children for recreation, Cresthaven Park became a stabilizing force in the community. Today Cresthaven has a few parking spots out front. The entire park is gated for safety. Inside the park there are restrooms, a paved walkway, a sand volleyball court, basketball court, lending library, and covered playground. My favorite part of the park was all of the native landscaping attracting bees, butterflies, and birds. I saw a gumbo limbo tree sometimes called the tourist tree because its bark looks like a tourists sunburned skin peeling along with butterfly attracting shrimp plants and dwarf jatropha. Cresthaven Park provides a much needed refuge of nature and recreation in the middle of an urban neighborhood.

Not a park you'd go out of your way to find, but I'm sure the neighbors enjoy it when the weather is a bit cooler.

At the time it was unincorporated but in 2004 the community voted to join Pompano Beach. It is kind of interesting to me that Pompano Beach decided to name a park after thorny sandspur weeds. If you have ever stepped on a sandspur you will remember the pain. Fortunately visiting the park is much more pleasant than stepping on a sandspur. Sandspur is a spacious 2.3 acres. There are a lot of large trees to provide shade. This park has a restroom which you don't usually find in a neighborhood park. It also has covered playgrounds for toddlers and older children and a picnic pavilion with several picnic tables. The paved walkways are nice for exercise and dog walking. Compared to some of the other parks in Pompano of a similar size, I was really impressed with Sandspur Park.

I must have passed this cute little park hundreds of times. I finally spotted it one day on Waze while driving past. Mangurian Park is a small 4 acre park set back from Federal Highway behind a Fresh Market. It looks like it was carved out a piece of the surrounding Enclave Coral Ridge Country Club. Park amenities include a restroom, bicycle rack, water fountain, fitness equipment, benches, playground, and a paved walking path. It looks like a lot of new trees had been added to the park to accompany the native plants. This is a really clean, well manicured park. Grab a prepared meal from the Fresh Market and have a picnic al fresco.

He was a really chill college teen with tattoos, he was really funny and a great instructor and he was extremely patient with us and made the entire time feel like a blast! The obstacle is really fun, if you have a fear of heights do not worry at all you will not fall and its very hard to, logan explained how it's physically impossible to fall and even gave us an example. There are two levels with two challenges each, making it engaging and worth the time. It costs $30 for each person totaling $60 for me and my cousin. There aren't a lot of people when we came but it could differ for others days. Overall it's a very fun activity to do in Dania beach and I'd highly recommend! But the kids don't care.
