I came with my two kids (3 and 6), my parents, my brother and his family (1 and 6) and my high school friends and their kids (9 and 12) and EVERYONE had a blast! The key was to get there early so you could enjoy all the attractions without the lines that form as the day goes on. We found loungers right away, grabbed tubes and hit the lazy river, and after a few relaxing laps, we headed for the splash pad. My 3 year old didn't leave there for the rest of the day. He was completely enthralled with all of the splash features, water slides, and fun that surrounded him. The water was just deep enough that he could float around on his stomach but not deep enough to ever be too worried. The older kids and myself hit the big slides, which were a blast. For a small waterpark, these were solid. The design kept you on your toes and they picked up enough speed to give you a little rush. They have an onsite cafe but they also allow you to bring in your own cooler, which is amazing! We packed a picnic and had a great lunch as a group. The one pro-tip I have is to book a FUNBRELLA! We thought about it too late, but these shaded pavilions are perfect for groups and reasonably priced so you don't even need a special occasion to get one. The food is way too expensive with chicken tenders costing $21 and when I went to buy ice cream it said it cost $7 but I got charged for $10 because of multiple taxes.They get lots of money and still can't get more rides. There are two levels with two challenges each, making it engaging and worth the time. It costs $30 for each person totaling $60 for me and my cousin. The drinks from the bar were delicious, and we were pleasantly surprised when the staff came around offering fresh honeydew melon and little samples of piña coladas. Such a nice touch! One thing I would suggest is making sure the pool staff who deliver the drinks also receive a share of the tips. It appeared that the tips went directly to the bartenders, but the pool staff work hard taking care of guests, too, and deserve to be recognized. The fitness center had a great selection of equipment, although I didn't get a chance to use it. Another bonus is the huge mall right across the street! I completely understand that a hotel lobby can be a busy place, especially at a large resort. However, at one point, a teenager was driving a remote-controlled car throughout the lobby while guests were actively trying to walk in and out with luggage. Despite multiple staff members being present, including the doorman and several employees at the front desk, no one stepped in or said anything. It felt incredibly inconsiderate to the other guests and was surprising to see it simply being allowed to continue. The front desk experience throughout our stay was also disappointing. Several times when members of our group had issues with their rooms, the staff seemed unsure of how to handle them and, more importantly, did not handle the situations with the level of friendliness, professionalism, or hospitality you would expect from a resort of this caliber. It's possible some employees were new, but there seemed to be a general lack of confidence and customer service training at the front desk. The property itself has plenty to offer, including the golf course, water park, spa, and other resort amenities. Unfortunately, great amenities do not supersede poor customer service. At a hotel carrying the JW Marriott name and price point, I expected a much higher level of attentiveness and hospitality. The resort may be beautiful, but the service ultimately left the biggest impression and unfortunately, it was not a positive one.
