This is a small water park located in Royal Palm Park in Margate. The park has a playground, fishing dock, picnic tables, and half basketball court. The water park is $4 for Margate residents and $7 for non residents. It has two 30 foot water slides, a lap pool, and an aquatic playground. You must be 48" tall to use the slides and they will measure children before they go in. The city of Margate uses the pool to give swim lessons. There is a concession stand to purchase snacks. Due to the small nature of the park it gets packed very easily, by camps during the week and families on the weekends. I used to come here quite a bit with my daughter and her friends when she was younger. I got an ear infection from the pool one summer and I stopped coming. Fortunately by the time she had outgrown it and we moved on to the larger water park in Boca Raton. With so many people packed into a tiny amount of water it is hard to keep it hygienic. The size of the park and amenities makes it best suited for elementary school aged children. Children older than that would get bored pretty quickly. I was at the park with a group of kids getting swim lessons. I applaud Margate for offering this life saving skill. Two brothers in my community recently drown and these kind of lessons can prevent a tragedy. If you are paying to use the park just be aware that it does get quite crowded, especially in the summer months.

Another government entity paid for with tax dollars that cannot follow its own posted hours of service. A 15-20 minute wait after payment and opening hour for public access due to late swimming lessons. Most swim lessons appear to be from outside instructors and should be held to specific rules and time. Pools did not open until after 1015am. Schedule 10am. There was no Administrator in office this morning and a gentlemen with a cooler arrived LATE and failed to get things moving immediately also. It's a nice local pool with two water slides. It appears lifeguarded well and they move shifts often. Overall a nice facility that needs proper management and formal controls.

$4 for residents, $7 for residents.. GREAT price for the hours of fun you can get from it. Pool and bathrooms are all kept really clean. There are giant umbrellas are set up to give a good amount of shade to the lounge chairs. Plenty of lifeguards watching the pool areas. And there is a concession stand to buy snacks. One area consists of a park-like playground in a couple feet of water (my fave), another section has to big water slides that go into a deep pool (not for swimming) and u must be at least 48" tall to ride, the third area is a regular lap pool, with areas for free play or lap swimming. Only problem I have with calypso cove is that it isnt open longer through out the year. Its florida and by definition is HOT out more than i would like. Shouldnt a perk of living in florida be that i can go to a water park in November if i wanted to? Id totally take off half a star if i could for that.. Lol.

I wish this place was around when I was little. For the low low price of $4.00 you or your kids can have a day filled with water slides, water features and swimming pools. Plenty of shade for the spectators and there are lifeguards everywhere. Don't leave till your skin looks like a prune. Great times.

I ve been here last August with my husband and my relatives from Italy and my little cousin loved it! She had so much fun that she didn't want to leave anymore! It's a nice place to relax and swim, the ticket is only 7$ for adults and 1$ for kids up to 4 years. I couldn't try the slides because i m pregnant but I'll do it next year I guess; you can get on them only if you are taller then 42" and less then 300 pounds.

    Relaxing!

Always a blast here. You'll never go wrong with this water park. They also have a park and baseball court on the side with access to a lake.

I do wish they would mix up the class times once in a while because I've been going for about two years and schedule hasn't changed much so I end up doing the same classes each week. The instructor Jennifer is great. I love that she does different things each week so I don't get bored with it. The place is clean, large, good staff, nice pool. I like the E gym so you don't have to adjust weights as it remembers when you scan your bracelet. They have a lot of community/family based events.

The management team is always very polite and helpful. One of the main reasons I've stayed so long is their wide variety of classes -- yoga, BodyPump, Pilates, Zumba, HIIT, BodyCombat, and more. I used to LOVE the BodyPump and BodyCombat classes, especially with instructors Zoe and Cindy Lee -- they were incredible. So much energy, motivation, always correcting form and really engaging with the class. Truly my favorites. Unfortunately, after they left, I stopped attending those classes. I did try the new instructor, but the experience was very different -- loud in an uncomfortable way, lots of personal talk during class, and overall not the same professional atmosphere. There was also an awkward situation that made me feel unwelcome. I was filming myself and my friend briefly (as I sometimes do), making sure no one else was in the background. The instructor approached me in a way that felt unnecessarily confrontational, repeating the same comment about not filming, even after I had already stopped and put my phone away. After that, I felt uncomfortable returning to those classes and eventually stopped going altogether -- especially when I noticed the same energy during future visits. That said, the yoga classes are still excellent -- very strong instructor and great experience. The gym itself is well-equipped with modern machines, always clean, and offers great amenities: sauna, steam room, and a pool. Kids' programs are also a big plus -- my children have been taking swimming classes there for years (we've been coming here for about 6 years total), and they love it. When they were younger, we also attended "mommy & me" classes, which were wonderful -- lots of songs, playtime, and interaction. There's also a kids' playroom with staff, toys, and activities, as well as two playgrounds. They even have a daycare, and a small indoor play area available on weekends -- very family-friendly overall. Now, a couple of serious downsides. The building is quite old, and during rainy season the roof leaks -- I've seen water dripping in areas like the café and even the gym floor, with buckets placed underneath instead of fixing the issue. That's definitely concerning. Another important issue is the parking lot. There is an exposed metal rod sticking out where a parking stopper used to be, right near the front entrance by the windows. I personally had a scary experience with it -- it pressed into my car wheel, and I was lucky it didn't puncture the tire. I reported it and even left a review about it, but a year later it still hasn't been fixed. Please be very careful when parking in that area. Overall, it's a place with great potential, strong programs, and a family-friendly environment -- but also with some issues that really should be addressed.
