I just wanted to come here and say I've had nothing but wonderful experiences and interactions with Pool Builders. They built my pool 13 years ago and didn't have a single issue. Of course with any aging equipment, certain things need repairs or replacements and I recently had to call them to replace/refresh a few components on my pool pump and they were prompt and fixed the issues right away and we are back up and running this summer. I would not recommend this company to anyone. They use a carbon copy contract, see photos, I should have run when I was presented this contract from 1985. I specified an upgraded panel service for 100-125 amp for a future pool heater. This upgraded electrical service was discussed during the contract signing and I thought it was included, as you can see from the contract it is so ambiguous you can't make sense of the hand writing. During construction when the upgraded electrical was not put in I had a frank discussion with the salesperson who ended the conversation by telling me to f_uck off, The marble pavers that you pick out in showroom are better quality then what was installed at my pool, the pavers have lots of rust stains and other imperfection, yes I realize marble is an imperfect stone, but the pavers they provide are extremely low quality. The pavers that are cut around the skimmer and auto fill looks like a 10 year old cut them, see pictures. You will be better off using any other pool company read more

Bad Service they Started around April and they come by once a month to do nothing. They stay do a few hours of work and go. They droped of the Floor on Aug 31st and they Started to install it a month after. They did not finish and on top of things they installed it wrong gaps and on even pavers. Now they claim is the floor and not the installer is now Nov and I still have a pallet of (Supposedly) bad pavers still sitting in front of my garage and no one comes to fix the issue. This is our 3rd major leak. Pool builders built my pool in late 2019 I purchased the home in the summer of 2020. The owners selling the property told me that it came with a 5 year warranty. But it didn't because it wasn't transferable. As if a pool is a moving object? Something like that that new at the time should 100% be transferable. Within living in the house for just 6 months there's been problem after problem. We've been dealing with non stop issues with leaks and a few pump related issues. When I first called with questions and complaints about issues a guy named Dominic tried helping me but didn't get far. Why? Because I was the new home owner. The pool wasn't even a year old at the time. I'm writing this review because a pool company should stand by their work. And If anyone out there is looking for a pool to get built I personally would advise to stay away from this company as their customer service isn't great and as a person who lives with one of their pools I'll be the first to tell you to go with another company that cares about the work they do. Our pool is poorly built, constant leaks and the pavers around the pool are sealed horribly. If they honored their actual warranty years ago it would've saved us so much money and a lot less headache. Sometimes doing the right thing outweighs a "warranty rule" I know so many people here that have gotten pools built after moving down to Florida. If this company would've done the right thing they would've earned that business they didn't though. Contract signed on January 24, 2022. As of Sept 1, the hole has been dug and rebar placed. Took 9 months to get this far. Very frustrating thus far with extreme lack of communication. We're currently 10 months in, no end in sight. Signed Oct 2020. In March 2021, they realized they didn't notice a power line coming from the post IN MY YARD. They told us we should have told them. Redesign, re-engineer, re-permit. The coping was installed wrong. Tile accent on extended second step/bench stops halfway across. We had to fight to get dirt brought back to make the surrounding area level when they took too much. Jobsite not secured from young child. Disabled dog fell into the unfilled trench surrounding pool. Zero urgency, zero communication until we repeatedly call/email. Aug 2021 has us with no equipment, , unfinished pool, trashed yard and no info regarding scheduled work/completion. read more

We wanted a professional and PBI was there every step of the way. I did a lot of research before we decided which company to go with and I was impressed with their reputation and products. I appreciate how they didn't take our decisions to hire them lightly either. They seemed thankful for the business and never treated us like just another client. I really enjoyed working with John, (my salesman). I had a TON of questions throughout the process and the folks at PBI were more than patient with my "type A" needs. Any concerns I had were immediately addressed and our project was done in 3 months from permit open to permit close. They were even great working with other contractors we had in the backyard (landscape, awning, sprinklers, etc.). One thing to note: As the process continues to each phase of the build, you are passed on to a new contact. I absolutely understand why they have to do this. UPDATE 2025: So after about 10 years of having this pool, just wanted to update this review. Most of the pavers are sinking and now just hold water. Had companies come to look to repair and stated that the pavers were never installed properly with the sand. Still unable to really enjoy the spa because of the poor design that allows the pool water to continuously flow over into the spa, even when the the pool system is put into spa mode. Had to redo the diamond brite finish after only 5 years, despite maintaining it due to way of install. Very poor product and horrible customer service when things go wrong. The owner doesn't want to hear of any issues nor do they want to fix any issues. Willie the sales person has disappeared for the past 10 years and once you sign the contract with him, you will never hear. I was hoping that after 10 years, I could look back and say although there was a rocky start, things ended up well. But unfortunately, things just go worse. A lot of my neighbors built pools at the same time, since we were new construction. They went with other local companies and their pools have held up with the test of time after 10 years. We signed the contract for building a pool with POOL BUILDERS INC, on September 14, 2020. As up to date Dec 26, 2021, more than one year after signing we are still with uncompleted work and with out a completion date yet. The floor has not been propertly installed twice, the Pump has been installed in a different place that on the plans. We are in the process of filing a complain against this contractor with the Department of Business & Professional Regulation, the delay has caused us problems not just with the fence company but our neighbors and it is very frustrating to see not only that the project is not moving alone but that what has been done is not done propertly. We are paying a totall of $42,250 a lot of money not to get the job done properly. PBI Pools (Davie, Florida) has been one of the worst companies we have ever dealt with. We spent over $45,000.00 on a small pool with all the extras. Yet, it took 7 months to install, every part is broken after 2 years and they have never offered to repair anything. I spent top-dollar to have the best and ended up with the worst. Here's a sample that doesn't even include that they drove the forklift into the pool and we had a black hole with mosquitoes and rats for 3 months.. * They forgot we paid for a heater until the pool was done. They had to then order the heater and have us arrange the propane line. Delayed the pool by 2 months * Heater didn't work-frozen thermostat-brand new * Pool began to separate from ground after a few months * Pump failed twice in first year *Pressure gage stuck at 28psi and nobody noticed til it spilt the plastic filer tank and destroyed the filters *Pump motor died *Pool turns black as heater failed *Flow sensor failed They blame everything on the pool guy who maintains it. I am an educator, and I was very clear with the salesman, that we had been saving for this pool for years, and that I had a strict budget I wanted to stick with. He was clear that it would not be an issue. I am currently in the middle/end of construction on my pool. We signed our contract with Pool Builders in August 2020. Almost 1 year ago. They promised the pool will take 2 to 2.5 months to build. They sell themselves as the BEST and Most competent pool company in Broward county. They show you pictures of their pool's vs their competitors pool's and show you how they do everything better and the process is easier with them. This is a complete and utter lie. My permits were returned over 3 times because the company could not get the measurements and set backs correct. Finally, on February 17, 2021 they dug the hole. The day of the dig, they conveniently found "BOULDERS" underground, which they needed to charge me an additional $1700 for. If you are the BEST pool company in Broward county, and you build pools in my area all the time, you should know these things and give the customer the heads up that there may be addition charges the day of dig. (I spoke to someone who also did their 60k pool with them, and they told me they had the same problem the day of the dig). They do not let you know, because when they meet with you, all they try to do is make you sign the contract. They make these BEAUTIFUL YouTube videos, of what your pool and yard will look like, however, DO NOT be fooled. The pool will never pass inspection by his video. He makes them without checking surveys and setbacks from the city. The elevation was done incorrectly, and even when installing Travertine, they figured out that they had made a mistake and had to correct the measurements once again, because the pool would not pass inspection. They only show up to your house once a week if you're lucky. As I write this review, today is Thursday, May 20th, 2021, and no one has shown up at all this week. I have called the office 2 times and left messages. I have yet to hear back from them as to why no one has shown up. They love to blame the city of Miramar, for the delays, however the inspectors show up right away and without delay as far as I see. There is absolutely no reason why a pool company, who's is charging almost 50k for a pool, show up to your house only once a week to work for a couple of hours. I will be filing a complaint with the state of Florida as well, as placing negative reviews on all the review sites I can find. I had friends ask if I recommend this company and I told them ABSOLUTLEY not. They went with another company, and they are very happy. Their pool is almost complete. Not on the driveway of the home they are working at, not in the swell but right in the middle of the road. A town of Davie street used as their private construction zone. Next was when the came with the concrete they sprayed and covered our car with concrete. Did not move to try and stop it from happening? Did They even try throwing a tarp on our car.....just kept doing it. Did they leave a note saying Hey we are sorry. No they just cut and ran. Since we were not home until at dark we did not see it until the next evening. Our detail person worked 4 hrs trying to get it off and we spent hundreds of dollars in the process and had to let them do things I never would to the paint to try and remove this concrete. Not a word from Pool Builders or the property owner they are working for. If you see a Pool Builders, Inc sign near your property it is a warning sign. Overall, Pool Builders did a great job in building my pool. They were pretty responsive when I needed them to be and they finished the pool in less then three months. I did have to get on them a couple of times b/c nothing was happening and I wanted to know why. There was also some miscommunicaiton regarding the landscaping that needed to be completed. I am pretty sure that every pool building company has a sanfu or two occur during the building process due to the jbo itself. I suggest using this company and ask for John. read more

My pool took longer than I was told, the salt system stopped working soon after it was installed, so did the pool light, and then spritzers. Through all of that I never complained. But now I am selling my house, and I found out they never closed out the permit with the city despite the fact that they told me they did. Of course, some of the work done to pass inspection (that I already paid for once) no longer passes code. When I asked them to cover the costs required to pass the inspection and clear the permit so I can sell my house, they refused. When I told them it wasn't fair more me to pay for the same thing twice, they didn't seem to care. It's not a huge amount of money, but their refusal to do the right thing speaks volumes about the company. Your pool is too important to put in the hands of a company that lacks integrity. I have been waiting for 11 months for this nightmare to be over. My backyard and front yard look as though they are a landfill. I have been promised over and over that my pool would be finished 16 weeks after the initial excavation. What they don't tell you is that the excavation doesn't begin until 6 months after your initial contract. Then the excuses come. We don't have the material. We are waiting on inspections, we are coming out tomorrow, etc...They come out for an hour and then leave (garbage left behind). I call and get one excuse after another. I have a gaping hole in my yard and sand for a patio. They didn't even complete the retaining wall yet. My recommendation is, find another pool company. I have had to call them every week to push them to complete what was promised. When they need payment for the so-called next phase, they are quick to appear and get paid on time, but try to get the job done and all bets are off. read more
