Really, that was my welcome? The restaurant had a few customers for the early Saturday morning. I was sat at a table that was very wobbly. The server had to notice because she moved the table around before seating me. Really, all these empty tables and you sit me at the wobbly one. I ordered a hot tea and ice water. The water for the tea tasted like it came from the coffee pot. Restaurants need to learn not to use the same pot for hot water that is used for coffee. I get bad indigestion if I drink any amount of coffee. So much so I now state I am allergic to coffee. So restaurants, please stop mixing the pots without doing a deep cleaning. I also ordered "The Southerner". It has 2 sausage patties, 2 eggs over medium served on a split biscuit, covered with sausage gravy and a side of grits. I requested the gravy to be on the side. The eggs were cooked great, sausage patties also great. The biscuit they were on had an odd taste. Didn't taste like the biscuits were baked, maybe fried? That would probably explain the biscuit being tough. The sausage gravy was not good. The gravy was thin/runny with cut up pieces of the sausage patties, but it lacked the sausage flavor. The grits were also very soupy. I had pushed my full cup of hot tea to the edge of the table, the server either didn't notice or just didn't care. I was only asked once if I was needing anything else, and since she didn't ask about my full cup of tea, I wasn't going to say anything. When she came over to the table she asked if I needed anything, I stated No, I am done. She asked if I wanted my check, and I paid my tab. They do advertise Bloody Mary's and other breakfast cocktails but I didn't have any of those. The location is good, area outside for the kids to run and play. Seating outside also to watch the kids. I think I would only return to this place if I am invited out to brunch with my group of friends. Otherwise, would be a long while before I return, being hopeful things have improved.

Unlike most Houston bunch…read morespots, we didn't have to wait to be seated -- Got there at around 10:30am and immediately got seated at a table for two! They have an incredible selection of Bloody Mary's and they can even be customized with tons of toppings. I stuck with water this go around but ordered the Grown Up Grilled Cheese with fries. The toast was perfectly toasted and the ingredients on the grilled cheese made for a perfect brunch sandwich. Fries were super crispy and yummy too. This is a great spot for anyone who enjoys a good local spot with fresh menu options for sweet or savory preferences. Great atmosphere and nicely decorated. Highly recommend. Only reason for 4 stars is the wait staff was a bit all over the place but I'm sure it was just them trying to remain on top of providing a quick brunch service.

So we ordered a brisket sammich and waited in line for 30 MINUTES!! We got to the window and turns out it was THE SAME MAN WHO TOOK OUR ORDER OUTSIDE IN THE DRIVE THRU who was making the food! No wonder it took so long. The man then asked us if we wanted a baked potato because now they were ready. We were prepared to wait another 20 minutes for the potato. It took 26 seconds (yes I timed) so WHAT was taking so long? There were only 5 cars in front of us when we ordered. Concluding, the baked potato was pretty decent. It was actually mildly scrumptious, and I say that with consciousness to my behalf. Not sure why the same person who took the orders cooked the food; especially if Axel posted on here about their mom getting fired. That's awful to fire someone if you're low on help anyway. And took the chefs, I recommend seasoning the brisket. Usually people like seasoning, I don't know. The salt and pepper wasn't sufficient for me. I had the three meat and two sides, the brisket was great, the turkey was superb, and the ribs were the cherry on top. My wife had a baked potato with ham, she really enjoyed it. My son had a rodeo burger and he love it. My daughter thought her chicken tenders were okay. They have a table up with all the fixings, pickles, onions, jalapenos, etc. I had a cold shiner bock with my meal. The food was a solid 8.5/10. The staff was 10/10 very friendly people. We sat down and my son was praying for our meal, the server bringing out the cook to order part of our meal waited for my son to finish praying before she approached our table as to not interrupt. This was extremely courteous and I can tell you it is not the norm. We are fairly new to the Fe (approaching 4 years), and I think we found a go-to spot for bbq. If you haven't tried it, don't sleep on it, get on in there and get your hands dirty with some bbq sauce.

The Waffle House located on Palmer in Texas City takes the cake. My go-to Waffle House order is the "All-Star". The All Star consists of two eggs, toast, grits or hash, a waffle and your choice of a breakfast protein (bacon, sausage patty or ham). The dining space is designed for small parties of less than 4, while the bar is always open as first come, first served. I sat at the bar, and though I'm typically apathetic to it, I have to say, it may be the best seat in the house. Watching the employees in action felt like watching a well-rehearsed performance. As one shouts the orders, the others work at their respective spots to ensure everything is done quickly and correctly. Not only were they impressively efficient, but they also had a smile every time they worked with customers.
