The eggplant dish mentioned is very rich and flavorful, with the eggplant cooked to be soft and almost mushy (but in a good way), nicely complimented by particularly the beef. Their lo mein is a little watery on various occasions, but still maintains a great and very nice flavor. Their fried rice is one of my favorites in the area and is always very well made no matter the time of day. The fried chicken wings, crab puffs, and crab bomber appetizers are both just such standouts in what is often an overlooked part of the menu by many restaurants. I have nothing but praise about how this place handles food. The staff is all really nice and welcoming from entrance to walking out the door. They are very good with order additions or food/allergy restrictions and the dishes always come out in a timely (but not rushed) manner, no matter whether it is a weekday morning or a busy dinner crowd. I'd recommend the lunch special for anyone coming around that time, as the deal of egg rolls, soup, and an entree or 2-3 sushi rolls for a low price is a steal. The ambiance nice for sure and the tables are clean, though I do sometimes get disoriented by the wallpaper they use (I think it's just me though). Whenever this place first opened, I was very disappointed in the restaurant. Meals were salt with a side of meat and rice and was just overall underwhelming. But now, it is one of my family's go to places whenever we need quality food in a short distance. Definitely worth a try, even over other restaurants in the area that serve a similar menu.

This counter-order joint is roomy, with a slew of arcade claw games lining the wall. I digress though, because this is a fun, clean interior, and the service is polite and efficient. We had Korean Chicken Fried Rice, Shrimp Udon and an order of Spreggrolls. Everything was delicious, and there was seriously enough for another meal or two. The chicken was nicely cooked with a sweet/spicy sauce. Same for the shrimp. These guys also do an outstanding job with their rice, which is almost served al dente. The spreggrolls, which are a fusion of fried egg rolls and cold spring rolls, stole the show for me however. It's such a simple idea, yet no one (else) seems to have thought of it. These folks have a huge menu, and I look forward to making my way through it.

The Bún Bò Huế lacked the traditional rich flavor I'm used to, but it tasted clean and wasn't oily. It also didn't include the traditional pork blood, but mixing in shrimp paste, lime, fish sauce, and chili helped bring it closer to the authentic flavor. The food stayed hot in the metal bowl which was nice. The Bò Lúc Lắc arrived hot and sizzling, just as advertised. The beef was flavorful and cooked well. One thing to note is that it came with white rice rather than the fried rice shown on the menu description. The food was good, and I'd probably come back, but I'd try a different location because the service at this one was disappointing and ruined the experience. Andrew was very helpful, but the other two employees spent most of the time on their phones with their backs turned toward the dining room, making it difficult to get their attention. We had to get up ourselves to ask for a water refill. While in the middle of eating, one of the girls brought our check and said, "Whenever you're ready, no rush." It felt like we were being rushed out while I was still actively eating and it wasn't busy. What was especially disappointing was that she never asked how our food was or whether we wanted to order anything else before closing out our tab. I had planned on ordering a drink after my meal, but after that experience, I decided I'd rather spend my money elsewhere. Overall, the food was enjoyable, but the service left a lot to be desired. Better hospitality would have made a big difference.

My second visit , last week on a Fri or Saturday evening, I started in the drive thru line and there were several cars ahead of me plus the line was moving at a glacial pace so I backed up and went inside. The wait inside took forever. The lady ahead of me must've had a zillion modifications. A kind teenage boy who had trouble finding a few things on the register assisted me. I dined in, had a beer while I awaited my food. I had nearly finished the beer when they called my name and when I got my food it was just above room temperature. I could tell the food would've tasted just as good as it did during my last visit had it been served to me at thee correct temperature but it had obviously been sitting out for a bit. I also noticed a couple people who came after me got their food ahead of me. It'll be a while before I return to Dave's. I need to get back on track with my usual healthy eating habits and my sub par second visit to Dave's fortunately killed my Dave's hot chicken craving.
