Now to the food!! I ordered the Crab Cake Benedict. My friend ordered the chicken and waffles. We also got fresh-squeezed orange juice and some iced lattes. *The Crab Cake Benny, composed of a pan-fried crab cake, a fried green tomato, eggs, and hollandaise sauce on their large scratch-made biscuit, surpassed my expectations. The crab cake was very flavorful and fresh tasting--it seemed to be made with real crab! I was super surprised with the dish only being $14. The crab cake was definitely the best part, but all of its parts worked together well. My only critique is that the biscuit, which should have been executed perfectly --I mean, it's in the name--seemed a bit chewy, maybe even stale. I didn't mind much bc the rest of the dish was perfect. As for the chicken and waffles, again, I was surprised. The portions were huge, and the fried chicken was very well seasoned and juicy. The sweet potato waffle, which tasted lightly spiced, was so delicious. The dish came with both maple syrup and honey mustard. But man, that CHICKEN was so yummy and flavorful. (I can't stand ordering bland chicken!!!) They also had a butter and jam bar! How great is that!! Of course I tried every single whipped butter they had: honey, maple, sweet potato, and regular. I also tried their apple butter and apple pie butter. It was all very good. Even the coffee was high quality. My friend and I agreed we'd drive 40 mins just for coffee alone. As for the orange juice--super tasty, but I would have liked a smaller portion + have it served with ice or ice on the side. I was served a large jar (no ice) with a price point of $6.50. Id rather pay less for less. Just too much for one person imo. Maybe it'd be great for sharing between 2 adults or a few littles. Do yourself a huge favor and go right for the hot specialty subs. These overstuffed behemoths, especially the large, are more than enough for 2 people to share. We split the steak and cheese and I could not have been happier, as this sandwich was the real deal. Kudos to the friendly staff for walking the floor and engaging their customers in friendly banter. I also love the cool Coke freestyle machine but what truly impressed me, aside from that ridiculously delicious sandwich was the charitable contributions they make to local first responders.

The counter service is fast and friendly, the menu is vast, with a LOT of variety - sandwiches, po-boys, comfort food, seafood, salads, pizza - something for everyone. And the food is good. The fried fish was good - nicely breaded, mild catfish (no muddy taste), and good crispy fries. The shrimp remoulade salad is kind of puzzling, though. Small, unseasoned boiled shrimp on a pile of lettuce. After being boiled with no seasoning, the shrimp are then heavily coated with red pepper (or maybe Cajun seasoning). And the remoulade sauce is in small condiment cups on the side - barely enough to dress the salad. But most of the food here is pretty good (the burgers are massive), and most plates come with enough for some extra to take home. It's not a place we come to often, but it is always on our list of possibilities.
