This message is mainly for the owner, whom I've known since this location first opened. I've been a loyal customer for years and have always had great experiences. In fact, I stopped by earlier today and, as usual, would've easily given a 5-star review. However, I'm leaving this temporary review because of how my daughter was treated about an hour after my visit. My wife and daughter stopped by after a workout to grab smoothies and some other items. A new employee was handing my daughter her drink when it slipped and fell to the floor. She hadn't fully taken hold of the cup before it was released. When she spoke with the supervisor on duty, she asked if she could get a replacement. Instead of offering one, the supervisor told her she would need to pay for another. My daughter explained that she didn't even have a firm grip on the cup when it was handed to her, but the supervisor (a female) still refused to make it right. She understandably declined to pay again. This was disappointing, especially given the many positive experiences I've had here over the years. I've already left a message for the owner/manager and hope to speak with them soon. Once we've had a chance to connect, I plan to remove this review. The service at this establishment was extremely rude and unprofessional. I felt unwanted as a paying customer, as though my business did not matter. When placing my order, I was asked for my name and spelled it out for the employee. Despite this, he spelled it incorrectly while speaking to a coworker about me, which was disrespectful--especially since I was still standing there. Shortly after, his coworker asked how to pronounce my name. When I told her, she laughed. I found this offensive and completely unnecessary. This establishment has recently gone under new management and the customer service has hit the bottom of barrel. They don't wear name tags nor will they give you their name because they think your complaint won't get recorded. They are rude, unprofessional and nasty. They don't realize if it wasn't for us consumers they would not have a job. I have filed a complaint with corporate and plan on going even higher if my complaint is not rectified. The staff and manager or owner are very polite and accommodating. When I place mobile orders they keep the smoothies in the refrigerator instead of sitting them out in a pickup area which keeps them from melting quickly! My smoothies are consistently made perfectly smooth & reliable taste. When I do order food items they are made well (temperature, presentation & taste). It is always clean, peaceful and quick! I got the Paradise Point Smoothie and it was pretty good. It wasn't super sweet and it had really good fruit flavors. I just didn't like the aftertaste of it. I don't know what it was but it just wasn't a good aftertaste. I also got the Baja Chicken Bowl and it was also alright. Everything in the bowl seemed fresh and pretty good except for the chicken... Ordering from this location was a horrible experience. This store is poorly owned as the managers and staff do not have adequate training and supervision. The prices of the items are inadequate and inaccurate as the staff just, in their own words "does whatever the PoS says". The owner clearly has not taken the time to give any consideration to the gals advertising that is going up in their store and clearly hasn't updated the "PoS" system to make common sense adjustments if the inventory is short. amazing !! If I lived closer this tropical smoothie would be my #1 go to. I love the early hours so you can grab something on the way to work. I also loved the temperature when i went in there over the weekend. The heat was cranking but it was perfect because it was freezing outside and of course i was drinking a smoothie. We ordered a Turkey Bacon Ranch sandwich and a Sunrise sunset both you could tell were made with the best ingredients. I ordered the sandwiches through the app and it took me a while to go pick them up but when i got there nothing was wilted or looked like it was made with anything less than love. Established in 1997, in Tallahassee, Florida, Tropical Smoothie Café has been steadily popping up in neighborhoods all around the U.S. As soon as I hit the door, I was greeted with a warm and extremely pleasant "hello, how are you today? Welcome to Tropical Smoothie Café!" As a matter of fact, everyone in the store greeted me at some point during my visit. The staff was extremely polite, patient and chipper for such a dreary and cloudy Monday morning. Since their motto is to "Eat Better. Feel Better" I knew I was going to be in for a real treat! After being pleasantly surprised by such a wonderful greeting, the first thing I noticed was how bright, vibrant and clean the restaurant looked. The young lady that initially greeted me literally walked me through the entire menu, gave me a few suggestions, a few of her favorites and what the most popular options were. TSC has a HUGE menu of classic, superfood, supercharged, and indulgent smoothies to choose from. You can also incorporate various supplements and fresh add-ins to your smoothie! All smoothies come in 24 oz. size. It would behoove you to look at the calorie content for each smoothie because depending on what you get, the calories can be extremely high. Oh, but they don't just have smoothies, they also have fresh foods. Sandwiches, flatbreads, wraps, salads and tacos were also on the menu. Clearly, I had no clue what to get after looking at that extensive menu, but after weighing out my options, I thought I would play it safe and get the feta, egg and spinach wrap, accompanied with the Paradise Point smoothie. The Paradise Point smoothie is made with strawberries, pineapple and bananas. When I say I couldn't put that wrap down, I COULD'NT PUT IT DOWN!!!!! Who knew that one little wrap could pack so much flavor in it?!? The smoothie....let's just take a pause for the cause, because that smoothie was sooooo delicious! Smooth, frothy and flavorful...just delicious! Even though this location is pretty close to me, I just found out one is about to be open even closer to me! #SCORE! Ahhh... the weather is finally starting to get it together! Went on a 12 mile bike ride today and thought I'd finally try Tropical Smoothie Cafe as my after workout pick-me-up. I went around noon and the place was busssyyyy! The layout of the store is a little weird. There were about 5 people in line and a bunch of people waiting for their orders. This created a pileup of people near the counters and along the only pathway through the store. The workers bring your drink out from behind the cash registers and have to make their way through the throng of people to get it to you...It was just a cluster*** of people everywhere and a little chaotic. I'm sure it's not bad when they aren't as busy, but still... I'm wondering if they should have a pick-up station like Starbucks? Anyway, I decided to try a SuperCharged to fuel me after my workout. The SuperCharged smoothies have added supplements and superfoods. The Triple Berry Oat seemed to be right up my alley, full of strawberries, blueberries, cranberry, multi-vitamin, ground flax seed, whole grain oats, whey protein, and Splenda. You can opt out of the Splenda and request turbinado instead (I did). Overall, the smoothie was pretty good. The texture was definitely thick and chunky from all of the whey, flax, and oat and left a very "oat-y" aftertaste. It was good, but I will probably try a Superfood Smoothie next time. Is every location awesome? Well yes, so far it's yes! I like healthy food on the go and I feel good. Man! I wrote too soon... I am a creature of habit, ordering the avocolada every single time. Well today I was given a watermelon mojito and told that he never gets it wrong. What! Needless to say, he did have the correct drink made for me. It started so well. He used humor, was kind, used my name and I guess was a little distracted. Oh well, no ones perfect. Everyone gets it wrong sometimes. I was ready to end it as a lesson learned. Anyway, nestled in the Waugh Chapel center, it is convenient to shopping and the gym. Ordered the avocolada smoothie. I have never had a smoothie made with avocado. Guess I'm late to the smoothie game (make sure to specify no added sugar). The smoothie was delicious and even though it was a bit cold and raining, I persevered #Winning. The cashier reiterated this drink is naturally sweet, but after drinking this it just taste like a bunch of ice. I taste a hind of ginger and kale, I am unable to pick up the banana flavor in my smoothie. I like the concept of their drinks but I do not like the delivery. Great place to get a fresh fruit smoothie! Lots of options and they will accommodate those with allergies. I am severely allergic to apples, raspberries, and blackberries and once I told them they made sure to sanitize the blender again, like they would for a nut allergy. They had a lot of options of smoothies to choose from and I wasn't able to decide. I asked for assistance and the woman waiting on me recommended the Bahama Mama, which has strawberries, pineapple, white chocolate, and coconut. It was very good and a great choice! This cafe is full of employees that disregard the quality of customer service. Multiple employees in this cafe have reportedly bullied a friend of mine on social media and have caused her to never come to this place. I stood outside for over five minutes, not seeing a sign right under the normal hours, but instead of someone just coming to the door or pointing the new hours out, they just stood in the store staring and looking irritated. No care for customers here. As I've worked at Tropical Smoothie before, I know the quality of food is low and to make it worse, the people here are unpleasant. Tropical Smoothie Cafe' is the latest addition to the variety of businesses in the Waugh Chapel shopping area. I had never dined there when I lived in Virginia Beach but now I see what I was missing. The wraps and smoothies are fresh and delicious. Currently they have a promotion for "Happy Hour", 50% off smoothies from 7a-9a. What a deal for me! Since I typically am so busy at work in the mornings it is super convienient for me to snag a smoothie for breakfast. There are a myriad of flavors to boot and I have been happy with the ones I've tried thus far. Parking is limited as it is a few doors down from Starbucks. I will be a returning customer. read more

I was pleasantly surprised to see that they used all natural fruits and vegetables. I was also able to reduce the sugar by omitting the turbindo. I ordered a Sunrise Sunset smoothie and a cup of water. Paid $8. When I got my smoothie, I was tasting hints of banana....very odd, because the Sunrise Sunset only contains: mango, strawberry, pineapple, and orange juice...so I take another sip to make sure I'm not mistaken, and I was not. I have a mild allergy to bananas. So I go back inside and ask them if they can kindly remake it, I only took two sips. I'm tasting banana, I'm fully aware that the smoothie doesn't contain banana but I'm tasting it and it's something I'm allergic too. The employee I spoke with told me she'll remake it. When she went to the owner to tell her everything I said, the owner immediately looked me in my eyes and said they were not remaking it. She (the owner) then went on to say that she made it herself, she made it correctly, and that she won't be making it again. I demanded that I have my money back if she couldn't make the accommodation and she told me no. She was adamant about having made the smoothie correctly and that she wouldn't remake it or refund me. I love this place because there's so many different options that can accommodate everyone. If you're on the go a lot like me, this is a great place to get healthy fresh food and smoothies. I was extremely indecisive as to what I wanted and the cashier helped me with my selection. The first smoothie (Mango Magic) was extremely bland and disgusting and I came back in to see if I could switch it out. I could sense a little uneasiness, but she replaced it with my new choice, Paradise Point + kiwi. It was AMAZING. Definitely beats any smoothie I've ever had.
