But the grits at Easy Like Sunday were completely different in the best way. Creamy with the slightest grainy texture and so perfectly seasoned that you don't need to add butter, salt, pepper or anything else. I had been daydreaming about those grits for two years. We finally made it back this past Friday and arrived when the doors opened at 9:00am. We were seated immediately. I ordered the Little Bit of Everything with eggs, bacon, those unforgettable grits and a thick, fluffy, delicious buttermilk pancake. That first spoonful of grits tasted exactly the way I remembered, maybe even better. My eyes actually welled up with tears. I know that sounds extreme but I'm not exaggerating. After waiting two years to taste them again, they felt familiar and comforting, like coming home. Our waitress, Diana, made the morning even more special. She was warm, welcoming and accommodating. When I told her I could nearly cry over those grits, she didn't make me feel silly or dramatic. She agreed saying,"Oh, I know! We have the best grits!"
