I walked in with my 5yr old and the staff is blaring uncensored rap music - ok whatever - staff wouldn't even greet me after standing there for 5 min literally looking past my daughter and I in between tasks-as if we didn't exist and were an inconvenience to their day job. After standing there with my kid and watching them both prepare an order(s) without acknowledging my presence I finally lost my patience and left. Staff is always friendly and food and drinks always come out decently fast. But taking off a star because I ordered the Bahama mama bowl and they gave me the drink instead. It wasn't a big deal though so I just took the drink instead, but I had wanted to save the bowl for my next mornings breakfast so it was still a little disappointing. read more

Food and smoothies are pretty tasty. From there it's a bit disappointing. Bathrooms were quite messy and dirty. Staff wasn't very welcoming and not friendly. I was actually close to leaving because I was standing at the counter waiting to order or to be greeted but it took about 5 minutes for that to happen. Even though the staff was literally feet from me working on other orders. They could have acknowledge my existence. Food came out rather quickly and was presented nicely. Kids quesadillas were full of chicken and cheese. I feel that most places skimp on both of those items. Come here for good food. Don't expect more than that. read more

The blonde lady manager who works mornings is a total passive aggressive b. She will ask how your day is going and then do everything that she can do to ruin. I brought in my own supplement (because they don't carry what I need) and asked that she blend it into my $9 smoothie. She said absolutely not. We don't do that here. I'm really sad to report that employees are not wearing masks or gloves while preparing the food!! It was a hot mess last time we were here. The employees discovered halfway through making our order that they left the sink in the back on and flooded their back room. It took about 30 minutes to get our smoothies and food and it was not busy. It also was not due to encumbering precautions to keep everyone safe. Did I mention they were not wearing masks or gloves?! Decide to come to this Tropical Smoothie location as it is closer to me than the one on Whitestone. Parking at this one is less convenient as there are other restaurants are close and take all the spaces. Only one customer in front of me, a high schooler ordering a smoothie. My turn and I get a Chicken Thai wrap with side of kale salad. The cashier spoke so quickly it was hard to understand her. I pay and wait off to the side. A short wait later I am handed my bag and I leave. The girl making the drinks and food was very considerate. Once she had it done, she walked around the counter to hand it to you rather than have you stretch over. The cashier was chatting up with the other young girls in the store. They get the orders out fast and accurately. I love the healthier options for lunch. My goto items are the wraps and Flatbread. I love the chipotle sauce on the chicken chipotle. They do have pizzas and salads, but I haven't tried them yet. I wish they had just a few more options available. My favorite side is the kale salad. I have no idea what the dressing is that they use but it is delicious. The sweet crispy apples pair perfectly with the kale and dressing. I'm not a big fan of veggie smoothies, so I can't give an opinion on those but I love the fruit smoothies. I usually sub the sweetener to reduce the calories. read more

Recently discovered this spot from a coworker who would get me lunch from here. Food and smoothies are amazing. I finally stopped by to check it out tonight and the service was terrible to say the least...I watched my drinks get made and then set to the side followed by the staff packing up and going into the back to gossip/giggle. I finally made it obvious that i was a customer still waiting for my order and they then acknowledged me by bringing my drinks forward. The whole atmosphere felt careless and unprofessional. Smoothies came out bland on top of that. I normally don't care to leave reviews but I know this place can do better. Hopefully it was just a moment of staff slipping up cause the menu is great. The wraps sandwiches are packed with superfoods that taste good AND make you feel good after. This place is amazing. A wrap or bowl plus a 24 ounce smoothie for under $12!!!! Not something you can find anywhere else for nearly that cheap. The bowl I had was delicious and very filling. Did everyone know they put sugar in all their smoothies?? After ordering at our latest visit my mom happened to ask on a whim to double check that her smoothie didn't have sugar. The checkout girl said it did but she could sub Splenda or remove it. Taken aback I asked that surely mine didn't because I always order from the fruit and veggie blend menu. She then stated that, "oh yes! They all have sugar. It's our secret ingredient and what keeps people coming back!" Mildly horrified I told her they should have that displayed prominently so people could be aware and have the option to remove it. She gestured generally at the board and said it was up there somewhere. A few minutes later she approached our table and said she "found it" pointing to microscopic small print at the bottom of one of the displays that does in fact state that they add sugar to ALL of their smoothies. This is absolutely not this workers fault but I'm astounded at the management and/or corporate decisions of this health company to so unethically hide an ingredient like sugar. I have a diabetic mom and a 3 year old who I have taken here often over the last couple of years. I feel so deceived I'm not sure I'll ever be able to purchase from here again. I stopped going to Smoothie King a while back because they put a lot of additives in their smoothies but at least they're up front about it. Smh. read more

Disappointed to say the least.. I always come to this location because it is quick & convenient, but last night was not the case. I ordered & sat at one of the tables to wait, & while I did the employee mopped completely around my feet as if I wasn't sitting there. I got my food & continued to wait for my smoothies which she then brought out & handed them to a different person, another friend just visiting & chatting. I finally stood up & waited closer to the counter & they laughed about how they accidentally gave them to their friend after I had waited way longer than I should have, because they left the floor to go hang out in the back. Definitely should have a discussion with your staff to fix this, because I do not feel comfortable returning to a location that treats their customers as if they could not care less. read more

I have been a tropical smoothie customer for years. Recently I began going to this location. Last night, I stopped in for my usual smoothie and flatbread. Both were not good, like they normally are- the smoothie was bland and the flatbread tasted off. The staff was inattentive, and were visiting with friends in the shop instead of focusing on customers. The girl that took our order rushed us through and seemed like she just wanted us to leave. I expect more from Tropical Smoothie, and will be going to the location on Whitestone from now on. read more

My daughter and I stood in the empty lobby for 5 solid minutes with no service. When I peered over the counter to look in the back, the 2 teenage girls that work there were sitting on their phones. Very unprofessional and the customer should always come first. We weren't looking for any discounts, just someone to take our order. So for future I hope the manager or owner talks with these two young girls that this is a business and customers would like to be waited on so they don't have to go to a different store out of their way.
