It took a little while to come out, but was delicious. The bagel was nice and soft, and the cream cheese was fresh-tasting, mixed with real ingredients. I used to really like Nervous Charlie's, but the Cedar Park location has gone downhill. I bought six bagels today-- they were out of jalapeño cheddar, and all six bagels I received were burnt (see photo). To make matters worse, they didn't even have the sour cream and chive smear... which feels a bit sacrilegious for a bagel shop. And the Veggie smear is chunky, have you ever heard of a food processor??? Honestly, I'm surprised these were sold to customers at all--they tasted terrible. Service was also very slow, and the overall customer experience wasn't great. At this point, I'll probably just go to Einstein's instead. At least they don't ask for a tip. The bagels are New York Style and made the old fashioned way. Nice crust on the outside and firm (yet readily chewable) On the inside. I ordered their "dozen" which is also old school as it's actually 13 bagels! I won't be freezing half and we will enjoy half tomorrow with the rest of our Easter finger foods. The veggie cream cheese is perfect -just the right amount of chopped fresh vegetables and their delicious cream cheese. This time we also tried the honey heat-that may not be what it's called, but it is a mixture of honey along with some heat mixed into the cream cheese. It was also very good.It I did a pick up today near closing time so they would be as fresh as possible. They actually have a pick up window, but since I had never used it I really didn't realize it and went in to pick up my order. The young lady that took care of me was very nice and no worries when I said I wasn't sure where the window was. It's definitely not the drive-through style and it's kind of built right into the regular windows up by the counter. I'll know at the next time I do a pick up. The ambience is very nice, calm with many people enjoying their breakfast, brunch, lunch orders. I have had coffee here before and it's quite good. There was a bit of a snafu with my ability to order online, but likely it's operator error. Anyway, they were very nice and responded to me and I kept trying and finally this morning I got my order in.!!! I hope to meet Charlie someday. Nervous Charlie's is a phenomenal bake shop specializing in Bagels and Bagel sandwiches. There are two monitors to place your order or go online and pre order. I love this idea and it seems like they cover every selection I'd want on a bagel (except mayonnaise). They even have a pick-up window for deliveries. Large variety of bagels to choose from, with the exception of a cheddar bagel, without jalapeños. Nice selection of cream cheeses too. I can't wait to try their Pastrami sandwiches, as the description sounds great. I ordered a "Classic Bagel", which included 2 eggs fried to perfection, choice of protein (I chose ham), and cheddar cheese. The combination was amazing. The peppers were not overwhelming with heat, and a touch of mayo made a very nice balanced. My wife ordered a garlic bagel, double toasted with butter and cream cheese. She absolutely loved it. Bagels are one of my favorite foods, and Nervous Charlie's has lots of them! The small store off of Whitestone is decorated in their statement orange, and they have a descent sized outdoor space as well. Me and my family get bagels here every Friday, and love it! Because of the small store (and amazing bagels) Nervous Charlie's is often busy and crowded, especially on weekends. But the employees are always friendly despite the crowd of hungry costumers :) If there was one thing I would change about Nervous Charlie's, it would be the lack of chocolate chip bagels. We enjoy coming to Nervous Charlie's, and they're our go to spot especially when we have to wait for tires nearby. They've got great outdoor seating, and the inside is very clean and comfortable. Their bagels are pretty dang delicious. I've never been disappointed with my order, and there's enough choices to always try something new. Everyone agreed the food was stellar, and we'd love to come back more regularly. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is we weren't thrilled with the service. It seems like when we were there the staff really had no interest in interacting with customers. I was told that they don't do outdoor window orders (which is fine but there's definitely a computer monitor/point of sale next to their outdoor window), so I was thankful to have someone else with me since I wouldn't bring a dog inside a restaurant. When I came in I realized that no one would be coming to the counter because they had ordering kiosks. Again, totally fine. At the start of my order they had a small power outage that resolved immediately, but the kiosks had to be restarted. I waited for someone to come resolve the kiosk issue, but they didn't until I went to the counter to let them know that we were unable to use the kiosks now because they had been logged out. It's seemed like an inconvenience for them to come from the back and fix it, and when it stopped working in the middle of my order again and I had to come back to the counter it was clear they weren't thrilled. Literally heard one exasperated employee request that another "deal" with the counter. Even my kids noticed and said, "maybe we can come back another day when there's different staff." Yikes. Finally a bagel shop that is just amazing in this area. Have been to Nervous Charlie twice already and can't wait to go back. Their bagels are so soft not chewy at all. I love their fun flavors like fresh toast which is amazing. The service is impeccable I always go to the counter to order because I like to customize my sandwich. After hearing Nervous Charlie's opened up in our neighborhood, I waited for the initial newness to wear down before I went to try them out. By chance it turned out to be for lunch instead of breakfast. When I saw they had pastrami on a bagel I had to try it. Found it with no problem and got a front door parking spot. They only take credit cards and no cash. So I went up to one of the monitors hanging on the wall to put my order in . Easy enough pastrami on an everything bagel and a Dr. Brown cream soda. Then the challenge running my credit card on the side of the monitor. I spent probably five minutes trying to do that and it wasn't taking the monitor kept swinging off the wall. Someone from the back came and helped me out so I could pay and move on. I waited about 10 minutes to get my sandwich and left. Got home, put it on a plate and took my first bite. It was heaven. So good the pastrami perfectly seasoned the bagel just complimented it. And to top it all the Dr Brown cream soda brought back childhood memories . I have been back many times now that I know the back roads to get there. I've had the pastrami a few more times and also had the BLT on a bagel. For lunch I still want to try the turkey and brie. Maybe I'll get to that next week. I have also had the Tayler ham and egg for breakfast once. Whether I order it in the store or order it online, they have been pleasant in the store and Service has been quick. Just outside they have table set up if you want to eat outside there are fewer tables inside. Excellent bagels! So glad to have a NY style bagel option close to home! We ordered the Austin half dozen (7 bagels) and 2 bagel sandwiches: Pastrami Hash and the Longhorn with sausage. The Pastrami Hash was good, but too spicy for our little kiddos. The Longhorn looks ridiculously indulgent, but was actually very well balanced and delicious. Including breakfast potatoes in a bagel sandwich: amazing and unexpected. The non-sandwich bagels we ordered included Everything, Plain, French Toast, Pumpernickel, and Jalapeño Cheddar. They were flavorful, not too dense, and fresh. The restaurant itself has some indoor and outdoor seating, but isn't a huge area. He loves pastrami, and have had both options they offer (*one with just pastrami with mustard on choice of bagel. Second one with hashbrown, egg and jalepeno on it). He prefers the first one. Reads as a 3.5 star as the service was friendly but I teeter on some of the kinks they may want to work thru to make better return experience for our future visit to the CP location. I placed an order online however the order was never confirmed so upon arriving I had to speak with someone at the counter who then had to go in and get it thru and then proceeded to make the order. For our wait, I was offered a coffee or cupcake while we wait. The folks who ordered in person were taken care of swiftly and there was a runner calling out the name for hand off, however those who ordered online would have been missed. Like we were. So after an additional amount of people after us had been taken care of, we reapproached the counter and stated our name on the order again and only then did we have our order in hand. Bagels we're NY style and tons of cream cheese which I picked up the jalapeño cheddar and spicy schmear, hubs went with the multigrain everything with garlic chive which was just as tasty. Artwork and ambiance is cute, and on a better less rainy day, we would've been happy to sit outside on their porch tables. I thoroughly enjoyed my jalapeno and cheddar bagel with veggie schmear. Charlie's does not skimp on the schmear and their bagels will fill you up. There are some additional breakfast options including pastrami hash and lunch sandwiches like a pastrami sandwich which guarantees a return visit or two. They do get busy and crowded however if you are an early bird they do open at 6 AM during the week and 7 AM on weekends. We visited on a Sat morning and there was a good 15-minute wait. Service was friendly and we did not feel rushed when ordering even though they were slammed. You can order online and there are two touchscreens onsite where you can place your order. Pro tip: Instill Coffee is a minute away and offers some righteous coffee options. read more

As a native New Yorker, bagels hold a very special place in my heart and stomach. While the bagels themselves from Nervous Charlie's will never compare to back home, their sandwiches are great and I find myself craving them for breakfast on lazy weekends. You can't go wrong with The Classic, I like it prepared as a sausage, egg, and cheese with extra pastrami dressed with salt, pepper, and ketchup. My other favorite is their lox with cream cheese, but there's certainly opportunity for them to go heavier on the lox. With what they're charging, the bagels should be slightly larger - especially their pumpernickel, which seems especially shrunken every time I go. Overall 3.5/5 Ordering is kiosk based, self bussed tables, and there's a single runner bringing out bags of food. They were clearly running behind this morning with frustrated people outside waiting for to-go orders at a side window, and a slow moving line at the kiosks. Ordering would be so much faster with a single person taking orders, and a menu board that has descriptions rather than just names. Tips are still asked for btw as seems to be customary in today's world. How about pay your staff a living wage instead since there's no customer interaction?
