What a difference a day makes! I'm sure you have heard that before? In my case it was "What a difference Two Weeks Makes!" We returned to Tropical two weeks after my last review and poor experience. They were recently opened at that time and possibly were going through grand opening learning curves? Who knows? Well I am happy to report that we returned and oh my! They knocked our socks off! Great service, food and drink! My wife ordered a smoothie, Jetty Punch. She said it was incredibly delicious. I had the Smoothie Combo which consisted of a Baja Chicken Wrap, Jalapeno Chips and a Island Green smoothie. All were beyond amazing! So glad that we gave them another try. There were two employees working at the time. One jumped on the food preparation and the other the drinks. Great team work! Can't wait to return!

A very well grilled wrap with sweet potato hash.

Finally, a good smoothie place near Carol Stream. A little bit pricey, I have to admit, but the key thing is, it's worth the cost. I'm a Jamba kind of guy, but they're off in south Wheaton. And every other smoothie place I've seen since is all about the supposed health benefits of smoothies; maybe it's about the smoothie's place in your cleanse, or a menu of mix-ins for all kinds of ailments/benefits. No, I know smoothies aren't healthy; just give them to me anyway! The app lets you grab smoothies on the go very easily and conveniently--it's also the easiest way to request half turbinado sugar (I'm not a glutton for punishment, exactly). The smoothies taste great, of fresh ingredients, and very well blended. I really liked the mango one, but got exactly what I expected from the chocolate one, which seemingly a very strong hit of cocoa powder. It tastes great. As far as I can tell, the food menu items were up to snuff (I didn't order any but my... chicken wrap thing... tasted good and fresh.) The sweet potatoes did need celery salt. I've been here three times so far, and I'm looking forward to going more often.

Their omelettes are seasoned to perfection and stuffed with quality ingredients. Their grits are perfectly seasoned, creamy and easy on the palette with a hint of cheese in it. The pancakes are perfectly buttery, fluffy, golden brown and complete with their syrup. Even their fries are seasoned and cooked to perfection. All in all, they serve food that is delicious, hearty and will keep you going throughout the rest of the day. We ordered the chicken tenders and fries, the French toast combo, and the sausage and cheese omelette. We ate well and had food left over to bring home. The service was exceptional as well and you are treated well and made feel welcome. I recommend this place to anyone in the area looking for a diner to have breakfast or lunch. We have it the highest marks; earning a 5 out of 5 star rating. Go Granny!

Not very busy on Monday morning and service by Ailed was prompt and friendly. Reasonable prices would urge a return visit to explore more of their menu. Interior is very well kept and bonus counter seating is available. Definitely good for large groups. Deceiving from outside how big it is actually.

The staff was so sweet even when it was so busy on a Saturday morning! They were very attentive and accommodating with all the modifications I made on my sandwich! I had the pick two, which was a half a sandwich (grilled cheese) with a half salad (kale Caesar). The salad was so good! Fresh, crisp and lightly dressed. However, the grilled cheese was pretty sad. I opened it up and there was hardly any cheese. It was just like eating two pieces of grilled bread. They need to improve on that for sure. I also had their 12oz wildflower latte which was very tasty, but served lukewarm and not hot. If the milk is not steamed, it will bring down the temperature of the coffee. I like my specialty coffees served hot. I do have to say every staff member we came in contact with was friendly. They seemed happy and were there to help and answer questions. You place your order at the counter, and you receive a number which you display at your table. There are two dining areas with tables and a few booths to dine at next to where you place your order. Members of the staff bring your order to the table. We didn't have to wait long for our drinks and food. Even with the sad grilled cheese sandwich which was disappointing and the lukewarm latte, I would definitely go back to Blackberry Market again to try other items on their menu. I'll pass on the grilled cheese, though.

Service was fairly quick and friendly. Parking is plentiful nearby, though it's a bit of a challenge to park next to the building both because of limited spots and narrow alleys. The menu is quite expansive, with options that are a bit different than what you typically expect, and the prices are fair. For someone who goes to a minimum of one or more brunches per week, the drink and food menus here drew me to the restaurant. After a while, a lot of menus look very similar with the same generic offerings of the standard pancake, waffle, omelet, and waffle options. This spot has a lot of fun options such as avocado steak toast, barbacoa skillet, churro hawaiian bread french toast, biscuit bombs and more. Even on more common options, they generally carry a wide range of flavor profiles from fruits to chocolate to nuts and more. Similarly, drinks include mimosas, champagne, cocktails, wine, spritzers, beer, juices, milks, coffees, teas, and more -- with tons of customization options. I'm a huge fan of this since it allows me to come back here with friends and not get bored of trying different things. The prices are also very fair for the higher quality products they serve. The food overall was impressive as well. I found the hash skillet to be flavorful with corn beef that wasn't too salty and quite tender. The best part was probably the potatoes that were seasoned to perfection and absorbed the flavors of the onion and pepper well, with a slightly crispy edge. The normal pancakes were super fluffy and quite thick. The pumpkin pancakes were a great combination with a delicious cream cheese frosting and a mix of dried cranberries, walnuts, and pumpkin pie sauce that was flavorful and addictive. This didn't need any additional syrup. The pumpkin roll french toast was equally as impressive where the toast was just a little crispy and the cream cheese frosting was a bit gooey. This was quite a fun mix of textures also with delicious sugared pecans and pumpkin pie drizzle. Overall, delicious food and great options make this a spot I'm sure to return to anytime I'm in the area.
