I haven't had a facial, so can't speak about those services. The spa's rooms are very close together and even though they play spa music, you can usually hear what's going on in the next room. The therapist didn't speak any English so with this language barrier, she did whatever she wanted and I just had to make the best of it. The massage tables were uncomfortable and the sheets and towels were old rough on my bare skin. The amount advertised for the 90 min or 120 min treatment is totally different from what you will be charged on your way out. I find it distasteful and rude to demand a tip greater than 18%. At one point I felt uneasy and disrespected after paying for the treatment in full and leaving a tip greater than 18%. I wasn't aware that it was mandatory to have to pay an additional amount on top of the fee and Tip that was already paid. I wasn't sure I was allowed to leave if I did not leave atleast 30% tip to satisfy the cashiers demand. Not sure if this is a regular practice, however I won't subject myself to this embarrassment and uneasy feeling of disrespect. 06-04-2026 - @approx. 1pm est I received a call from someone named Sophia, saying they are "the manager" . Conversation started pleasant and immediately went left once I began to explain my issue with the service & treatment I received while patronizing this establishment. It almost seemed like a rehearsed script used for all complaints and issues. First I was told that "maybe there was a language barrier , that was misunderstood. 2nd she immediately informed me that she saw my review and began contesting "my experience at this spa". 3rd she then told me that she "reviewed camera footage" , and this is what didn't sit well with me. This wasn't a call to resolve or fix a situation with a customer, this was more confrontational. She also said I was free to leave at anytime due to the fact that I stated , I wasn't sure if I would be allowed to leave without increasing the tip. I wasn't sure also accused of leaving a false review of my experience and at that point I asked if it was possible to get an email contact for the owner. The last thing this "manager" said before I ended the call was "this is what I mean, I am trying to work with you" as if she was doing me a favor. No thank you. Have a pleasant day.

Today was my 34th hour spent at Anthisi for electrolysis so you know I really love this place.  I…read morefound Tsambika(owner of Anthisi) on Yelp and at the time she did not have any reviews.  This feedback is overdue.   Let me start off by putting out there that I am a brown-skin girl of Indian descent.  I've always been hairier than the average girl but things really took a turn for the worst around age 32 when I noticed the hair on my face getting darker and longer(gasp!).  I started to get light laser(from a different business) regularly on upper lip for a year but did not notice a difference. Prior to finding Tsambika I called  around various electrologist in the North Jersey area.  Through my search for an electrologist, I encountered one that called in a numbing cream prescription to a pharmacy after speaking with me for 5 minutes and wanted to see me the same day to start treatment without seeing my skin.  Other places didn't seem seem to have a lot of experience with my skin type. When I first spoke to Tsambika,   I could tell she was different in that I did not feel pressured or overwhelmed.  I was invited for a in-person consultation where she took her time to explain all the different methods and which she thought was best for my skin type, products to use for minimizing the pain, etc.   She introduced me to everyone at the office and they all had such friendly faces like Tedd(one of her massage therapists).  I was immediately attracted to her office and noticed it had a space for me to work during the days which meant a lot because  because I telecommute for a living and sometimes need to fit in lunch appointments.   I've utilized Anthisi's balcony to sit down and get some work done during the days and handle all my meetings between appointments.   Needless to say, I am a loyal client at Anthisi.   Since my 1st appointment in May 2016 with Tsambika, I am always happy to look at my skin.  My sideburns, upper lip, and under chin have really come a long way.  It's so much clearer now.  I feel much more confident to have people look at my face when they are talking to me.  Tsambika give me  that confidence.   I can't wait to try some of the other services offered like the facials. To wrap this up, not only is Tsambika my beloved electrologist but she functions like my unofficial therapist.  She has great listening ears. I can discuss just about anything with her like a friend. Our chats are always insightful and she makes my back-to-back crazy appointments fly by in no time.   She is extremely accommodating for those times you want to fit in lots appointments,  running late or forget the start of your appointment.   For example,  today I was about 20 mins late today and she still kept our appointment.   I really appreciate that she always works with my schedule.  As a Mom of 3 busy kids, I often rush to her office and now my family knows Anthisi and Tsambika as household names.  Everyone reminds me of my appointments and push me out to door to get there on time.    I always look forward to my next appointment and walking through the door of Anthisi.  That incredible scent in the air (which I can smell with my eyes closed any) and soft music immediately resets my mood.  Once you give Anthisi a try, you too will be hooked!

She recommended a very random brand without understanding my specific needs. When I asked questions she googled for answers. Yikes!!! You don't even know the products or what you're dealing with. So clearly there is no proper training to guide or sell to a savvy customer ready to spend significant money. Needless to say, I purchased a familiar brand and it will be the last few hundred dollars they'll ever see from me. Their service is a complete failure, the store smelled worse than a public restroom in the hot summer, and zero knowledge demonstrated by the staff. Please provide these folks with proper training and how to present themselves appropriately. So right off the bat, I had a sour feeling about the experience before I even get in the room. The masseuse was friendly, but was not skillful. It felt like she was winging it as she went along. She actually stepped on my back and legs at some point. It was strange and uncomfortable. If I had to count the minutes of the massage that I felt relaxed, it may have been about 10 minutes. The other 50 min were full of pain, confusion, and gimmicky massage moves. As I was leaving, they gave me an envelope for gratuity and made sure to get their tax and fee.
