I've finally decided to review this restaurant after multiple purchases over a period of years. I find their food is good ie. the oxtail platter. However, if you get there by 4-5 pm they usually run out of it and do not make any more for the day. Today, I purchased the stew peas with beef and found their soup thin, watery with little flavor, no peas, no potatoes, and few dumplings. It had what looked like one piece of cassava that looked cooked down in something else and the meat extremely fatty and tough. Let me be clear, their platters are generally good but oxtail will not be available after a reasonable certain hour. The soups are highly questionable now since I called back to inform them of my dissatisfaction and was told there was a change in the staff that made the soup. She stood by and defended the current quality of the soup after refusing to taste the soup as asked. Think twice about purchasing soups there, due to inconsistencies. read more

Our last visit to this location consisted of two Large Oxtails with Rice and Peas extra gravy, hold the veggies because I make my own. Depending on who's serving your large order will yield you a tad bit more of the Oxtails and Rice & Peas, which serves plenty. If they have Spicy Beef Patties available make sure you buy one or a half dozen. The Spicy Patties to me aren't that Spicy, but as for flavor, crust and filling they are slightly close to what I remember in JA...I'm still searching. Also order the Fried Chicken with Sweet Sauce, another favorite. Especially when the chicken has just been prepared. Soup of the Day, Jerk Chicken, Curry Goat, Fish of the Day and other Jamaican items are also available to order. Prices are on average with other spots I've visited. Dine-In seating was an avail option Pre-Covid for anyone that needed. Though our orders are always to go, as the aesthetics of this mom and pop type restaurant in no way says come stay awhile. The staff is generally polite, with just enough straightforward courteousness to get you the in and out service you need. Remember, what you give, is what you'll get back in return and being courteous can be contagious. Parking is slim to none at times on the main street, but can be found around any residential corner. Last time I had it from here, the stew peas resembled a Dominican style dish. Peas no stew. I decided to try it again today. Well, i will say when i went there they were out of oxtails. They also had 2 young kids working the front, a young girl and a boy that were very unfriendly. Young girl working the register had a nasty rude attitude and very impolite. The young boy taking my order was rude also. No vegetables on entree although indicated on the receipt. Gravy saturated on rice. I also purchased a large chicken soup. What a joke. it seems the person took the ladle and made sure their was 2 pieces of dumpling, 5-6 pieces of carrots, 2-3 pieces of Irish potato, small pieces of what appeared to be pumpkin. Today Feb 1, 2019 at approximately 8:30 pm I visited this establishment, like always there was a long wait. When I finally reached the register, I placed my order which totaled $5.41, I gave the cashier a $20 bill and she ask if I had .41 cents, I told her "No". The cashier responds and tells me she doesn't have any change, I'm puzzled because this is a business and on a Friday evening you should have change. She tells me she can't take my order because I didn't have the .41 cents and she couldn't just give me back $15 dollars. I have never experienced anything like this before especially for .41 cents.
