They not only added onions but the whole nine yards I'm talking sweet peppers both red and green and tomato's! This is the wack a** oxtail dish they charge almost $20 for, like let's be serious. And most of the oxtail was fatty. I live down the street and am so disappointed everytime I come here. Went for dinner for the family and got three large dishes. We ordered jerk chicken, jerk pork, and fried chicken. The food came fully packed in their containers and was more than enough for a family of four. We had mixed vegetables and oxtail gravy on the rice. The rice had was cooked perfectly and had coconut flavors, the octail gravy was thick and delicious. My favorite dish was the jerk pork. It was cooked very tender and moist. The pork absorbed the jerk flavors very well. The jerk chicken however did not absorb the flavor as well but was still good even though it did not taste like it came of off a jerk pan grill. The fried chicken according to my jamaican wife was French fried and tasted excellent. The meat was moist and succulent. The chicken skin got soggy because it was sealed with the rice. So if you get that tell them to put the chicken separate in a paper bag. It felt like we had a home cooked meal after we were done. And for that, it's well worth another visit. read more

Upon entry I was immediately greeted with a friendly good morning and a warm smile. There are tables with lace tablecloths that add to this welcoming feeling. All I wanted was some porridge. I just want to preface this review with the fact that I know times are tough all over. But Kingston Grill takes it to another level. I stopped in for breakfast. Everything was pretty much finished. A helping if callaloo was left in the pan. No more provisions left. So the young lady gave me HALF of the portion of veg left in the pan. I said you don't have the provisions so I thought you would put that little bit in my container. It was not even a full portion to sell someone. She said that's like an extra spoon. WHAAAAAA? Wow. They have the best Jamaican food in Elmont. My husband never likes to spend money on food. He bought the family dinner tonight (family of 4) and spent $30, this was the first time he hasn't complained about spending that much money. My husband and children had stewed chicken with rice and I had jerk chicken with peas and rice. I would eat that over and over again. My husband demolished his food and once again didn't complain (he complains about everything lol). Their food is delicious, the restaurant is clean and the staff is friendly.
